Interesting perspectives and I totally agree with you . We are in the world with variety of choices not just in fashion , and I think it’s good for the culture to move forward as everyone gets to live the way they are comfortable without being manipulated by the brands or judged by the society. Great vid again ❤ thank you for keep making quality vids 🙏👌👍

What a GREAT video!! So many good points, and I agree with so much of it!! I’m a 47 year old dude, so I’ve seen some trends come and go, and I think this time in my life is my absolute favorite time in fashion. I’m loving the meld I see here in Chicago of vintage, meets 90’s meets quiet luxury, meets streetwear, meets.. whatever. Mixing and matching what you like from each look is a fun wardrobe challenge (especially on a budget) and seeing what new independent, and well established (thinking of the new JCrew catalog) are putting out is so great. All that being said… good riddance to the jogger. I will NOT miss you.

My friend thank you so much for watching! And thank you for taking the time to write all this out, I really appreciate it more than you know! 🙏 I can only imagine how much you’ve seen trend cycle and changes they come. I’m interested to hear about which trends you have seen personally firsthand be popular, and then cycle back! Also, it’s so funny you mentioned the J.Crew catalog! I was just talking to some of the men’s were guys in NYC, talking about how they finally got their act together with that 😭😅 Cheers my friend! Also yes thank GOD the jogger trend is gone 😭

I’m noticing this popularity in the resurgence of the western look lately. I was heavy on the cowboy shirts back in the mid 2000s. But that came and went REAL fast for me lol. When thrifting thru plaid button ups, I’m skipping over anything with a yolk cut. But hey, to each their own. As a 90s kid, and going thru a long time slim-fit-everything, clean cut tailored-everything period, I definitely agree that this convergence of both slim and oversized looks is an exciting outlook on future trends. After learning my body type/measurements, doing oversized really just isn’t about sizing up, or even with today’s oversized cuts, there’s still some “tailoring” I need to achieve the look I want. We really can’t let fast fashion make us fashionably lazy!

Great video Alejandro! I agree I think baggy pants have peaked. However, I hope we keep the high waisted aspect of this era, even if the pants are more slim. Personally, I believe having a high waist line is just about proportion, not fashion. All men’s pants used to be super high waisted. Now, because Americans have such big belly’s, the rise was lowered to cater to this body shape, and thus destroyed proportion in men’s fashion. High waisted jeans just don’t look good if you have a belly.

I 100% agree with you! The high waisted movement has definitely been a highlight of this new era, and me myself as well. I hope that it continues to be a part of the product that is developed within the years to come. Very well said about the proportions in relation to the American public, my friend! I miss you bro 🥹🖤

Flashing Mad Men made a lot of sense to me and kind of explains why the high-volume pant isn't taking off the same way the skinny jean did. When you've got cultural forces like that show making a silhouette aspirational for the mainstream around the same time fashion houses are pushing the look, it catches fire. Big pants are probably not going to stick as long or go as extreme this time around unless we have a big show or icon that folks wanna emulate. Just a thought.
@AlejandroJomar4 күн бұрын
I agree with you! but we actually ARE starting to see it in movies and certain series now that are popular with younger demographics as of now. They soon will, as you said, be popular amongst the grand scheme of media and once THAT happens and that final “boom” happens for big pants, the die down is gonna come. It’s such an interesting topic, huh? 🥲

@@AlejandroJomar really interesting. There’s someone on KZbin starting a clothing brand, He’s in the development phase and he’s making denim with cotton and wool together and other materials. I appreciate how you are shifting current concepts on denim itself. …we’ll see how big the big pants get, personally I don’t think it will be as big or extreme as the skinny jean got but we’ll see when it breaks mainstream. Thanks for all you do.

I feel like 15 year cycles are heavily influenced by teens and parents, many teens inherited pieces and then they become trendy. (Early 2000’s fashion & that generation’s teens being parents of today’s 15-25 year olds)
@AlejandroJomar4 күн бұрын
This makes a lot of sense! And I definitely think you’re right, it absolutely contributes to the 15 year trend cycle 😇

Tha availability of used clothes like skinny high end jeans, would make the change of style quite inexpensive today, and not like the last time where that style was very expensive about 140-200 dollars, for a hot designer brand in early 2000, and I can get jeans like that for 14 dollars or less today. I have been wearing thrifted clothes for over forty years, and the availability of good quality clothing are enormous now. The last 15-20 years of total overconsumption, have made it possible to get cheap secondhand luxury items, and have fun making styles with them.

I think you can not overlook sustainability in this topic, as many clothes are basically made of plastic, I see a trend that is rather in material use than style. We also should not ditch the plastic clothes too quickly, as it is just piling up on the already huge microplastics problem.
@AlejandroJomar4 күн бұрын
This was an interesting perspective actually that I believe warrants a video. 👀 However, I admittedly am not 100% well versed in sustainability, but would love to educate myself more on it before I make a video! Where do you stay up and learn on this information?
@vincidicaprio2983 күн бұрын
There are a few very interesting videos here on KZbin that show people making fabric out of PET bottles, and also where all our clothes go. Some African countries have piles and piles, literally mountains of waste, eventually a lot of it gets burned. Then in Pakistan even cotton gets shred up and mixed with new longer fibers, obviously this type of fabric doesn't last that long. This also convinced me that not every type of recycling is that sustainable. You can not regurgitate many materials even twice. There have also been news items about fleece being a source of microplastics in the laundry, but also people that wear it breathe it in. I have been religiously buying natural fiber clothes as much as possible ever since I struck upon this information.

I think there are no 15 year cycle anymore. Everything is sped up now bec of socmed esp tiktok.
@AlejandroJomar2 күн бұрын
I can see where you’re coming from, I definitely think it’s a little early to tell if the cycle of trends has dissipated though personally. However, much like yourself, I definitely 100% agree that it is changed and shortened.
