However..! A day in RCT is 10 seconds, while real life days are 24 hours. So while to us they may walk the distance in mere seconds, up to just over a minute, to them it takes them far longer! Therefore, they walk at speeds of: 1.7 m/h | 44 cm/h | 22 cm/h 2.2 m/h | 59 cm/h | 29 cm/h Truly ghastly slow Edit: Turns out, I somehow ffd up the numbers, updated them to be accurate now.

probably not to this degree lol. Dividing the walk speed in half when sick was probably an active choice, but since all of it scales, they likely just put it in based on %. In terms of the default energized walk speed, it was probably just a design choice of "how quickly do we want guests to be able to traverse the park so that players dont have to wait around forever for them to get to rides?" It's definitely scaled back in RCT3, where guests slowly tromp through your park even at full energy
@HeliosExeunt4 жыл бұрын
The guests unlearned common sense and swimming to walk as fast as they do. The additional brainpower makes them more efficient with the walk cycle, utilising only the absolute minimum force needed to raise their foot, move it forwards, and plant it on the ground. It also means their footwear never wears out from the forces of gravity because they have calculated the optimum way to use them.

Because time in RCT passes much much faster than IRL, it will take much longer for them to reach the goal, meaning they move much slower. Rounding distances to 4 meters and 12 ft, the fastest guest would move at 0.00276 kph (0.00157 mph). That's about 2.76 meters every hour. The slowest guest would move at 0.000367 kph (0.000208 mph). @Templarfreak4 жыл бұрын
3:27 Much more complicated and convoluted route, but here is how you would get your much more consistent result: 1. We are told how fast roller coasters are actually going, and we can know exactly how fast they are going even at very specific points of its track. 2. We can convert how fast a roller coaster is going into *pixels* moved per *frame.* Getting how many pixels it moves over a given time period of say, a minute, is probably going to be the hardest part, but it should in theory be very consistent. As in, a Rollercoaster that goes twice as fast as another should cover the same distance in half the time. Note that you would have to account for a rollercoaster's acceleration and deceleration as well. We want the pixel distance it covers in say 1 second _being at it's top speed the entire time._ 3. We can get the amount of pixels moved per frame the guests are walking. 4. We can then convert the amount of pixels guests moved per frame to kph/mph by using the information gathered from roller coasters. A guest that say moves 1,000 pixels per second at 60FPS would be moving at the same kph/mph that a rollercoaster that covers 1,000 pixels per second says it's moving at in kph/mph. Extracting the graphics from the game, a tile is 32x15. From the top-left side to the bottom-right side, and from the bottom-left side to the top-right side, a tile, considering only the part of the 32x15 graphic the tile actually covers, is 11 pixels across from any point to any point along its edges, not corners. From corners to corners, the tile does stretch the entire 32x15. (like this: imgur.com/a/xIcErF5 ). For anyone else willing to go nuts and do the painstaking process of pixel measurements ingame, there's your starting point. Yes I know that the ingame measurements are not super tightly accurate to real life, but hey, we've already established a baseline that at best fully-energized and non-nauseous guests are marathon sprinting all over your park. :D Also if you _do_ do the painstaking process of gathering the information and doing the calculations let me know what you find!
@Stevenzao4 жыл бұрын
I'm a simple man: I see Marcel Vos, I click.
@lukestevens93754 жыл бұрын
How about a third measurement for tile size as a tiebreaker: lateral acceleration. If you make a regular right turn at 30 kph, then the expected lateral g's are 2.24 g if the tile size is 3.16 m or only 1.67 g if the tile size is 4.25 m. If you use the same 30 kph speed, then the radius is 7.079 / lateral g's.
@Trancefreak124 жыл бұрын
That won't work in rct because real acceleration around a curve scales with the square of speed, but rct makes it scale linearly with speed. So you will get different results depending on the speed.

Actually you have to consider the time of the game, 1s in the game is actually faster than of real life second, if one hour is a year it means that time runs 8760x faster than real life, so if a guest takes 30s to cross this distance you have to multiple 30 by 8760 it means he took 73 hours to do it... it's a snail.
