The Camaro V6 5th gen is fast enough for pretty much everyone on city streets and highways. The V6's also weigh less than the SS so handling fun should be fine. Personally... Enjoy the car for what it is and be safe. Leave 100mph+ driving to the track or absolutely empty freeways at night.

The speed is limited from the factory to 118 because of the *BASE STOCK TIRES* . They literally could fly apart at higher speeds. If you get better wheels/tires you can remove the limiter and it can go somewhere around 155-158mph

Ive hit faster in my challenger with the v6 which also sounds better when you hit it. I didnt want a v8 on purpose, as im daily driving, and wanted the gas mileage more than i wanted to have a extra bit of horsepower, but im adding a supercharger so ill actually be faster than the v8 for less money. And still get better gas mileage.

I have a 2018 rs iv had her going 155 when it was stock. Still pretty much is stock besides 80mm TB with ported intake manifold. Kept stock air intake just modified it to work with the bigger TB. Gains were ok went from 13.68 in the 1/4 to 13.60. Mph was 105.6 to 106.6. No tune because have turbos waiting to go on her haha Hey great video our V6’s don’t get the intention they deserve fast cars specially for the money.

Your Camaro has a governor set to 120 because you do not have tires rated for high speeds. Buy a set of Z rated tires that can handle 149+ mph, go to a tune shop and have them remove the governor. Its all about safety. You bought the car with U-rated tires that are able to handle up 124 mph. My RS V6 2lt has pharrell and the governor is adjusted accordingly. I have yet to see a speed limiting message and I've hit 145. Your V6 is capable of much faster, just think safety before removing the governor and riding speeds faster then your tires can handle.

Didn't watch the while video but I'm pretty sure you didn't turn off Traction Control. You would hit over 120 and with faster acceleration. It has 2 stages, press it once it's off hold it down for 10 seconds it's like a level 2.

It's all based on what model your car is , so did it come with low performance tires? , same Camaro V6 but higher performance tires will give you a higher drag speed limit. Example:: chevys Malibu Premier 2.0 turbo comes with 19 inch low profile high performance tires and top speed is drag limited to 153 mph. It all comes down to what tires are on the car from the manufacturer. I myself, are now in the market looking for a 2019 Camaro, my first one.

Also... It's usually not a physical "chip" it's just factory programming the company is forced to put into your pcm. If it's a law thing they put a rev limiter (controls Max rpms in final gears). If it's a safety issue they put a speed limiter. (Turns down throttle once speed reaches X). The speed governor's usually can be bypassed rather easily. If you'd have gotten an upgraded wheel package with Z rated tires the factory would have likely adjusted your limiter accordingly. Basically... They're saying the cars got massive balls and can go a shit to faster.... But your fucking tires will explode and you'll wreck at 120+mph and certainly die a horrible death. That's why I avoid dipshits in foreign cars (usually foreign makers don't bother with any kind of limiter since they're import laws remove their liability for your death) so they'll send over your Mitsubishi eclipse capable of 130mph and slap on some 95mph rated tires assuming we're never gonna take the car to it's limits. Chevy wants to take care of you so you live long and keep buying Chevy's and parts and licenced products. They're all about the long game. Go buy some RS wheels (check Craigslist) they usually pop up after some dipshit kid buys aftermarket wheels for his RS. Slap those on buy some Z-rated tires and then you can even go to Chevy dealerships and they will adjust the limiter to like 155mph or so after they see you have wheels and tires that can handle those speeds.

The base v6 is limited to 118 because the tires are shit. Going too much faster could cause them to explode. So you got two options. Upgrade the tires and get a pcm tune to delete the governor or get a 2ls package. The 2ls package comes with PZero tires so the max speed is set to 155ish.
