Damn how heavy are Tahoes? lol 4-5 years ago my 2000 extended cab with CAI and exhaust only on 20's ran 9.96 in the 1/8th. I need to take it down to the track one day and see what it does with cam, headers, and tune. Congrats on another 500 subscribers! That was pretty fast from 1K

The curb weight of 07 Tahoe is 5,200 to 5,500 lbs. 99-06 4x4 Tahoe are around 5,000 to 5,300 lbs. You might be thinking of towing capacity weight.

This isn't a diss to the Tahoe or anyone's ride but when I bought my used 2000 Silverado 1500 5.3L I had plans to do a few mods to it and and decided to take it to the track to get a baseline run. I had messed with the tune using EFI Live. Mainly I just bumped the timming up a bit, upped the rev limiter, changed the shift points and my best pass ended up being a 15.7 @ 90 mph. The key seemed to be to keep it in 2nd to keep it from making the 2-3 shift and with the rev limiter bumped up it would just cross the line before hitting the limiter. I put it on the scales at work and without the spare tire and it came in at 4400 pounds. It shocked me so it's fine if people don't believe it. I'm just posting this for the guys interested in what my experience was. I had read that it was supposed to run something like 17's...

My 07 Silverado Classic with 4.8, simple bolt ons and a tune running on 91 octane did 10.103 @ 71.97mph in the 1/8 mile on street tires. I'll be adding an LSA blower soon though!!!

Damn my dads 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi quad cab hit a 9.90 at a slightly uphill 8th mile track, I own a 5.3 tahoe as well, driving them they feel similar but the Hemi def feels like it has more torque especially off the line. I haven't ran the Tahoe yet, its almost mint condition with 235k miles, 4x4 LS model I believe or is it LT? Lol either way keep up the good work man, put a huge cam and a turbo on that mug!

Forgot to mention that the Hemi has over 300k miles and is stock motor for all we know! 300k miles and runs like new, its that bright blue color with the big chrome stock 20's on it, I actually sold my dad the truck back when I ran a car lot.

There is a surprising amount of torque left on the table with that fan. Went to an electric fan in my slow ass dodge, definitely felt a difference and since I grabbed a tardy fan in the junkyard it was cheap.

I did not hear anything about a cam so I mean aside from the torque converter and stuff I don't know that anything would make much of a difference but you should have definitely done a cam since you already had the block out and sure go with headers I did and have no cats but but stock muffler but I do plan on replacing it with with something aftermarket but as quite as I can find

Tahoe 6k pounds corvette 3k. My theory is that you need 100 hp for every 1k pounds to make real speed. My santa fe is quicker with stock everything and she's only got 179 hp at best with a gvw of around 4k pounds.
