It is definitely an intimidating model! The thing is incredible. That pass at four minutes and 44 seconds was crazy. Porpoise and was definitely loud lol

I've been practicing that split-S turn instead of the standard stall turn. It's MUCH harder than it looks, but you make it look easy. I grabbed a Mini Comet to practice with before I end up getting the grown up Comet. Thanks for making these videos so guys like me can learn.
@westhobbiesrc80512 ай бұрын
Most of your speed flying comes down to your flying. You have to be smooth and precise learn when to add pitch when to add elevator, etc. The split S is the German flying style as you come out of the top of your split ass you start adding pitch and pulling back you have to have the helicopter on its path before you give it full pitch and once it settles into place, you don’t wanna add or take away pitch and add gently or helicopter will porpoise bad. It takes a lot of practice!

@westhobbiesrc80512 ай бұрын
Thank you, sir! I hope it gives you some motivation to get yours faster! I know you can do it. I might have to build a Kraken 700 just to see how fast it’ll go! When you start getting into the high speeds, the helicopter can unsettled or porpoise/pitch up if you are not on the correct line or adding too much pitch, pulling back too much, etc.. It takes a lot of learning to get your passes, clean smooth and fast.

Hey Jeff bit off topic but I was wondering if you could do a video on your flight simulator setup.. on what sim you like most and pros an kons..not sure if you still use one on a rainy day but would be cool to hear your thoughts.. cheers

@@MrEdjob hello! So I do not use a sim as much as I should lol I really need to get back on the sim every day like I was doing. I like Realflight for the easiest setup and ACCURC for the best flying sim but it can be involved to setup. You can’t really go wrong on any Sim.

This is awesome Jeff! Makes me want to build a speed copter as well. Any good recommendations for a kit nowadays? Which pitch gauge have you been using? My Amazon one has acted up on me and I don't think it's being as accurate anymore
@westhobbiesrc80512 ай бұрын
Thank you! Speed helicopters are awesome. It’s a whole new flying style and adrenaline rush. Much harder than most people think. Unfortunately, there is no real speed kit sold on the market today. you either have to find a used or old new inbox kit. Or GAUI R5 Is the only speed helicopter sold. Unfortunately, it’s a 550/600 size machine and not a 700. I’m still using my cheap Amazon pitch gauge. Works great still.

If you are really trying to make a helicopter go as fast as you can possibly go then why not build a high performance coaxial helicopter with counter rotating main rotors and a simple battery box and aerodynamic pod made for flying directly in the wind and go full boar, I personally doubt that you will ever beat that helicopter as far as speed
@westhobbiesrc80512 ай бұрын
@@Soshstar999 for multiple reasons, one is class rules. Heli have to have a main rotor and tail rotor. Number two, a coaxial heli will be much slower. More drag, more rotating parts, more power to go half the speed. The idea is there but it won’t happen.
