This is all true! I fasted for God to change everything- I didn’t know why I was stuck- but I just said that- over and over while fasting: “Lord, change EVERYTHING! I’m all yours!” Woah- he opened my eyes in a miraculous way- I got deliverance from issues I didn’t even KNOW I had!! Woah- I didn’t even know what deliverance WAS at that time! He opened my eyes and saved me from 23 years of abuse! I escaped with my 5 kids and started a new life all over! Brand new! He changed everything!!! FAST- it’s so worth it! Your life counts on this!

Fasting helps in ways we cannot explain but something changes within you. As Catholics we have a dumbed down version of 40 days of fasting called abstinence, during the season of Lent. I think Catholics should return back to faith and be more rigorous in fasting, praying, interceding, repenting, thanking, glorifying, singing, and good deeds

I fasted with not drinking coffee for one day and I started feeling sick as the day progressed. By night time I started vomiting and felt so sick. As I was vomiting I kept seeing strangers faces and felt like I was vomiting people's faces. I got in bed and couldn't even look at anything on my phone. I don't know what happened? I was fasting to feel closer to God.

You were having caffeine withdrawals. If this is what happens when you stop drinking coffee for 1 day, then your body is way too dependent on your caffeine intake (this sounds like serious withdrawals, a headache or feeling a bit fatigued is common). Remember that caffeine is a drug. Decrease it gradually over time. Take less coffee (and tea.whatever other caffeine product you consume) each day until you can do without caffeine altogether. Learn to taper it out of your diet gradually (over 1-2 weeks) rather than just cold turkey in one day.

Although people refer to the Daniel Fast as a partial fast, but the Bible doesn't refer to it as fasting. I do think that God honors the heart, but as we grow in fasting, there is a difference in the type of fasting.

LET'S GO! I love reading "The FASTING PRAYER" by Franklin Hall........ read the book 2 times & both times I did a 40 day water fast from which I was very active with exercise & I didn't tell anyone else I was fasting except my direct family & now I get to do my 3rd 40 day fast & not care about telling people. I was 30 years old when I truly realized God was REAL & doing a 40 day fast was 1 of the first things I was led into. My understanding behind life was so limited & I thought I would lose my "reward" if I told people or did the wrong thing while on the fast. I hadn't known what Gods presence was until the flesh was depleted within the fast & if you want to be with Jesus, fasting is most certainly the best ticket!
@danielt1715 күн бұрын
That’s awesome! What kind of experiences did you have on your 40 day fast?
@michaelkipe162715 күн бұрын
@@danielt17 the experience was me giving up trying to figure out Jesus with my analytical mind. I experienced the physical pain of my flesh yelling at me to quit the fast (& I did quit after 7, 10, 12 days, but I hopped right back on & got to 40 days) & while reading “The Fasting Prayer” the book points out all of the lies that pop up in the mind that cause us to break the fast early. You are going to hear your flesh speak sometimes much more it seems than hearing God speak however, I experienced God in such a powerful way & nothing comes close to how close he comes to you. I was young in the lord when I did my first 40 day, us human beings love to “feel” things & I felt the spirit so powerfully it’s that very thing that draws me back for the 3rd 40 day I’m about to do. Fear is such a powerful lie from hell & my life is not my own. So many people talk a big game but fasting is the benchmark, you’re literally removing the flesh. You will find so many patriarchs in the Bible fasting. There is so much encouragement to get into it & the only thing stopping you is the enemy (that’s yourself)
@danielt1715 күн бұрын
@@michaelkipe1627 That’s amazing! Did it lead to an increase in power and authority during and after you completed the fast?
@michaelkipe162715 күн бұрын
@@danielt17 Most certainly! It has lead me into areas I think I know that I don't. It leads me into more action & less talk. While I fast it literally shuts my mouth & I don't speak, I believe the lord is telling me that I speak too much & God is shutting up my mouth so I can listen. God gave us every spiritual blessing under the sun however, we learn through taking action. Take action! Failed action is better than no action. The lord knows best how to teach you through fasting

Some ppl have health problems 😢 - I’d also like to say just like giving, people have to fast out of free will. Fasting shouldn’t be out of compulsion, either, in my opinion. - I went on a corporate fast once and almost destroyed my kidneys. - You absolutely need to hear God, listen to your doctor, and your physical body. -Not everyone can do the same type of fast. There’s also no condemnation and everyone is different.
@treeisa6117 күн бұрын
No where in the NT does Jesus or the apostles teach that fasting excelerates spiritual growth. And the examples of fasting in the spiritual that exists doesn’t support his thesis. This is total hyper spiritual BS. And I’m not against fasting but when prop yourself up as a “spiritual guru” than listen to Colossians- 2:23- such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom with self imposed worship and false humility and their harsh treatment of the body but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

Fasting became a legalistic ‘work’ for me and the Lord had me quit my regimen. I was trying to obtain what I already had in Christ. A dog chasing its tail. When I stopped my fasting regimen, the power of God began to flow out of me powerfully by his Grace, and I began to experience intimacy, miracles and demonstrations of his Spirit I was fasting (working/earning) for. I am grateful that fasting led me to a deeper revelation of Gods grace.
@benzmusiczone16 күн бұрын
There is no such thing as a ‘Married Couples Fast’ because technically, if you’re on a fast, you’re not supposed to be engaging in intimacy with your spouse. Once the fast is over, you engage in intimacy with your spouse. 1 Corinthians 7:5 Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

I don't recommend a 40 days fast. Jesus could because He is Jesus. But for us, majority of people it may cause health issues or even death. I've been told that even a 21 days fast of just water could be risky. Some do partial fasting of two meals like breakfast and lunch or dinner and breakfast or lunch and dinner in a day for up to 21 days. I for example dry fasted (no food and water) for up to 48 hours..and had experienced God in supernatural ways! I even dry fasted for just a day, when my son was flown to a hospital in an emergency for meningitis and Father God heard and answered my prayer. 8 differ

*The point is to be led by the Holy Spirit. If God leads you into something, He will bring you through it, and give you the time map, 1 day, 3 days, 7 days,...21 days or 40 days. It's not an exact blueprint but according to what the goal and need is and the situation and calling that is upon that person's life. The Holy Spirit will reveal to each what is needed for any given situation.*

The fasting discipline is similar to the discipline it takes to run. Not everyone can or should run a marathon, and even those that do start with a short run at the beginning of their traning. Just like a marathon, not everyone can or should do a 40 day fast. However, our bodies are actually designed for 40 day fasts, and anyone healthy enough can do one. The mostly dangerous part of an extended fast is not the fast itself, but how a person breaks it.
@stephenanderson56415 күн бұрын
@myjoyfulness I have a lot of respect for those that dry fast. I've never actually done one, but I've heard others say that they have and that it was the most powerful fasts they have done.

As believers we are expected to cast out demons. “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”” Mark 16:17-18
