A few things you missed or just skipped over. In Generation 2, Fire gained a resistance to Ice and Steel, meaning the Fire type went from a pretty average 3 resistances, to the type with the second most resistances of any type in one generation. By Gen 6, Fire's Resistances had Doubled from where it was in Gen 1. In Gen 4, Stealth Rocks were introduced, which made Fire types tricky to use. The ones that did see usage typically had a neutrality to Stealth Rocks. One of the reasons behind Heatran seeing wide usage was because of it's neutrality to Rocks, although having 11 resistances at the time, as well as two immunities, one natural and one from it's ability certainly helped. Gen 6 gave us Megas, and by far some of the best Megas were the Charizards. Despite it's glaring Stealth Rock quad weakness, Mega Charizard Y was one of the strongest Fire Types in Gen 6, being a powerful Sun setter that could immediately take advantage of the weather to fire off boosted Fire moves or no charge Solarbeams. Charizard X was the more Physically oriented version but dropped it's Flying type for Dragon, making it Neutral to Fairy and taking less damage from Stealth Rocks. The fact Charizard had two Megas would set up some mind games. Would you have to face Sun boosted Flamethrowers and Heat Waves, or Tough Claws boosted Flare Blitz? And while you did meantion Incineroar, I think it bears mentioning to how insane Incin is. This Pokemon is perhaps the most deceptively bulky Pokemon out there. Typically, when you see base 90 or 95, in a stat, you don't bat an eye (Flareon can relate). But through what I can only assume is some black magic, Incineroar is able to live hits like no other. And like a heel wrestler, it's can pull out the most absurd moves. Fake Out, Snarl, Flare Blitz, Will-o-wisp, Knock Off, Helping Hand, U-Turn, Parting Shot, Taunt, Leech Life, Close Combat, Throat Chop, Stomping Tantrum, Acrobatics, Swords Dance, Darkest Lariat, the list goes ON. It is perhaps the most absurd Fire Type Pokemon to date, at least in VGC. Whenever it is legal, it will almost certainly be top 10 in usage. Finally, in Gen 8, Heavy-duty Boots revolutionized the Fire type. Gone were the days of fearing Stealth Rocks and now the Fire types would have their day. So would I say the Fire type is one of the most powerful types? Yes, 200%, yes. It's also one of the types that has quietly gained more and more power, much like a fire does.

But Armorouge, Ceruledge, and Arcanine are also big threats that can have that ability Ice - fire beats ice. Not to mention, aside from a small handful of pokemon, most ice types (for some reason) are slow. So most of the time, a fire type can outspeed and KO Bug - next Flying and poison are really the only types you'd need to worry about. In vgc they shine likely because of a lack of stealth rocks, although water is definitely dominating right now so we currently only see Incineroar. Other fires are good because of Tera such as Volcarona. Unfortunately I think fire in singles struggle still because of stealth rocks and being forced to run boots. Cool video though! Make it useful in a weather that boosts your own moves and lowers the moves of the type that has the biggest advantage against you 3. Make almost all mons be able to learn a devastating move that is super effective against all three types that are super effective against you, and is used in one turn with aforementioned weather 4. Not have a lot of Special Rock and Ground moves, so that tanky Fire mons *cough* Torkoal *cough* can easily take all three types under the sun.

This led to the rise of dragons who became the dominant type that were weak to ice. Ice is weak to fire. The physical special split buffed most fire types that were physical attackers. Fairy was introduced to counter dragons. Fire resists fairy. The fact that fire was hard countered by the 1st 2 gyms in gen 1 and most of the roster learned a move that countered fire in addition to the fact that about half the fire types were physical attackers hurt fire a lot. But as the game became more balanced, added new game play elements and mechanics I think fire benefitted from it the most.

The fact that pokemon with chlorophyll ability are grass types wich destroy ALL of fire type weaknesses is another broken thing worth mentioning. And burn is arguably the worst status you can give (on a physical attacker, barring Guts and Facade i suppose) and guess what, fire types are immune, making them basically the best physical type pokemon to use. Let's also not forget that in the sun you cannot be frozen but for some reason in the rain you can still get the burn. I think this should be adressed and hopefully changed in the future games. Fire is broken and need some nerf. Perhaps a new type is needed or perhaps current types need to have some changes.

Fire is weak to Water, Rock and Ground. Chandelure is a Ghost-Fire type, and it learns ENERGY BALL a special grass type attack which use to have 80 base power (now 90). Essentially, one move would obliterate 3/5 weaknesses that you have. Ghost is weak to Ghost and since Chandelure has an insane 145 special attack, it basically does not matter. Which leaves only dark as the meaningful threat. (This is based on gameplay of Black 2) You get the Energy Ball TM at the pond near your house by using Surf.

Fire resists the best offensive type and is super effective on the best defensive type, they simply chose to cook

You may not like hearing this, but my favorite Fire type is Cinderace. Armarouge is a close second.

My favorite is probably Houndoom because I'm edgy like that. Chandelure is really great, too, and my favorite Smash Ultimate character is Incineroar.

I think a good way to nerf fire is let them take damage while it’s raining. But to make things fair, water types will have their speed lowered in the sun.
