It's rare spawn to find in any locale, actually. Found one sniffing around the volcano in Coastal and Pearl Clan village. Exceedingly rare spawn though unless they patched it out to only be in the Mirelands in the past like two weeks

Well there is an additional step to getting Annihilape, yes you do need rage fist...but the evolution only happens IF primeape has used rage fist a total of 20 times, it doesn't matter if the move connects or the target was immune to it but one method that is tough is evolving Own Tempo Rockruff's, in gen's 7 and 8 you only have a 1 hour window to evolve those special rockruff's, but in gen 9 it's even worse since the in-game clock isn't connected to the system's clock as you only have a 3 minute window to get dusk lycanroc, that's not a lot of time

Why is it that Razor Fang, Sachet, Protector, Electrizer, Magmarizer, Reaper's Cloth, etc. are species locked? Can you imagine a Dragon/Ground Onix Evo with Dragon Scale? Or a Fire Stone Pikachu becoming Gorochu! And let's not forget that Clamperl for some reason has TWO (2) exclusive ones that required TRADE as well.

That's actually false -- there is another Pokemon that can evolve twice that can be aquired at level 1, namely Roserade. This is because both Budew and Roserade were introduced in gen4 as a pre-evolution and a new evolved form respectively for Roselia, which was previously a Pokemon with no evolution line. Because of this, if you want your egg to hatch into a Budew, you need to have the rose incense item be held while breeding -- if you don't have this item (or are otherwise not using it) the egg will hatch into Roselia instead, which can be evolved using a shiny stone. As for evolving Budew into Roselia, it needs to have a high happiness and level up during the day, which can be a pain due to Budew's really bad stats and access to a more limited (and frankly not very good) movepool; so trying to catch one in-game for your party is more trouble than it's arguably worth if you get it as a Budew instead of waiting until you can catch wild Roselia.

I never thought friendship evolutions were that bad... Friendship goes up with level, so if you level up your Pokemon enough, you should be able to get them to evolve pretty easily. Every time I have used Crobat in a playthrough (catching it as a low level Zubat as soon as possible) I usually only have to level up Golbat once or twice, to get it to evolve again...

Personally, I kinda hate the fact that location-based evolutions were phased out. Sure, they were annoying, since they made some Pokémon like Glaceon obtainable stupidly late. But what really annoys me is that it happened in gen 8, the generation that introduced the one element that could easily have fixed these evolutions : the Wild Area. They just had to put the evolution location in the Wild Area, and boom, no more availability problem. Heck, Runerigus is basically a location-based evolution with some extra steps, and its location evolution is in the Wild Area.

Here's a fun idea for more chess piece Pokemon. Make Pawniard another Tyrogue. At level 31, Pawniard evolves into: - Bisharp if its Attack is higher - Knight-based Pokemon (name pending) if its Speed is higher - Nothing if its Defense is higher than both At level 52, Pawniard will evolve into Fortrook (rook-based Pokemon) if its highest stat is Defense. It can still evolve into the other two. This is a reference to how rooks are higher valued than bishops or knights. If Bisharp's original evolution level is preserved, Fortrook's evolution becomes unlocked at level 86 instead.

Regarding evolving Galarian Yamask into Runerigus, Yamask has a measly base 38 HP, so if the enemy hits too hard, it will faint. As for Feebas into Milotic, making the right Pokeblocks or Poffins is time consuming, as it requires you to have the right Berries, then go through the process of making the right recipes and doing well in the minigames, and you better hope your Feebas doesn't have a nature that dislikes the dry flavor because if it does, it will get less of a beauty benefit from each snack. To rub salt in the wound, you can permanently lock your Feebas out of evolving.

I actually do not have a problem with Feebas evolving by Beauty score. I actually think it's easier then having to trade it while holding a Prism Scale. I used this method for the first time in BDSP, and the only thing I found hard about it, was making the Poffins. But once I had the correct ones, I gave some to Feebas and evolved it right there. I literally managed to do all that in under an hour. I don't mind Trading being an option, for those that have friends, but I really think there should be alternate methods as well.

The whole thing about Galarian Yamask is that, a cursed rune attached to it. And by weakening the Yamask (have low hp) makes it easier for the rune to take over, specially in a place where sand/clay is abundant (the rock monolith with sandstorm). TLDR: Runerigus isn't the Yamask, but the cursed rune who took over after the Yamask was weakened

@@charleslavoie7622 you’d be surprised but Galarian Yamask evolution is actually inspired by funeral rites in different culture. And the 49 HP thing is a subtle reference to the antarābhava, a Buddhist concept of Purgatory after de*th and before reincarnation; this process of Buddhist Purgatory is said to last 49 days. And the stone arch for the evolution is obviously based on a Dolmen and the arrangement of the monolith ressemble stone ship I really like Galarian Yamask because at first it seems weird but when you know more about it it’s actually really interesting to know

I actually like gholdengo's method and I literally used one for my team it's the 1000 pokemon so it makes sense to give it a special method to get it and it's worth it as it's really strong

15:51 I'm still angry about meltan, I had a shiny meltan that I wanted to register into my pokemon home so I could have my shiny pokedex filled, and realized when I got it to lvl 70 that it wasn't a leveling based evolution, nor trade, or anything else. I will say, I am Friendship's strongest soldier. It's pretty tedious but I've found it easy to just run back and forth not even a full hour to get the Pokemon to evolve. I did this as recently as my playthrough this year of White 2 where (after a 45 minute walk) I had a Lucario after my battle with Cheren.

plus friendship evo's aren't as bad as they used to be, since the introduction of the soothe bell and luxury ball in gen 3 do speed up the process immensely, plus the friend ball also heavily speeds up the process (in fact the friend ball was the reason in Ultra Sun i was able to have a snorlax before the boss fight with Marowak)

Somehow PokeRogue actually fixes Tyrogue's evolution, as in that game, Tyrogue learns Mach Punch, Low Sweep and Rapid Spin at level 10 and depending on what move you teach it, it evolves into the corresponding Hitmon

It's funny how we keep getting new evolution methods but some old ones are left completely forgotten. Gallade and Froslass are the only ones that evolve with a Dawn Stone and both are from gen 4. No Pokemon other than Leafeon and Glaceon evolve with the same method as them (with the Moss and Ice Rock respectively), both are also from gen 4. And I think there's only 2 mons that evolve only if they are traded for one another (Shelmet and Karrablast into Accelgor and Escavalier respectively). And there are surely other similar cases. One would imagine that we would get more mons that evolve that way since they're forced to program those evolution methods either way but apparently not.

Fun fact: Shelmet and Kerrablast won't evolve if traded for one another in Pokemon HOME, meaning that the overall population of Accelgor and Excavalier will likely decrease over time because there will be less of them floating about in Surprise Trade and the like. (Lore-wise, this means that in the context of HOME's setting - if that can be said to even exist - the trade is NOT considered to be using electrical signals for data transfer due to that being part of the catalyst mentioned in their pokedex entries.) It's kind of like an anti-Lapras effect when you think about it...

Sirfetch'd has my favorite evolution method. Most of the "challenge" for the other weird methods are either just unlikely to be found without a guide or *just* take a long time. Having to get three crits in one battle is actually something of a challenge. It's a reward for being able to battle well.

I honestly have absolutely no problem with any of these evolution methods. I'm not impatient enough to whine about friendship evolutions as if I didn't have 5 other pokemon in my team to help with the battles in the meantime and I really like the weird evolution methods. I think they're pretty creative, make the pokemon more memorable and I also think it's cool that they're tied to their lore. Besides I'd take weird evolution methods over trade evolutions or union circle evolutions any day.

The walk evos are actually pretty easy once u have access to Area Zero. The distance between the point where u and the gang lands in that segment of the main story and the shortcut-slope that leads to the 1st laboratory is enough to evolve them.

Fun fact: The only trade evolutions that have yet to be caught fully evolved on any Switch title are Huntail and Gorebyss. They returned in BDSP but they can only be obtained by trade-evolving Clamperl with the correct held item. The only games were Huntail and Gorebyss can be caught fully evolved in the wild are via fishing in the Unova games and XY, or by SOS encounters woth wild Clamperl in USUM. So here’s hoping that they can be caught fully evolved in Legends Z-A since they could be caught in the original X and Y games.

Whats funny about the gen 8 and gen 9 requirements for some evo's, is that they eventually need to be changed, else they need to implement those methods in every game they appear in (Like how Leafeon/Glaceon got changed to Leaf Stone and Ice Stone in Galar due to lack of Mossy Rock and Icy Rock). The thing that i noticed is that they have gona completly away with gives us new Trade evo's since gen 7 (And yes, i know Alolan Golem is a thing, but thats not a new requirement for the line). While you can argue Finizen/Palafin is a trade evo, its really not, since you don't need to trade to get it, just join an union circle is enough. The most annyoing evo is indeed Galarian Yamask into Runerigus. However, i have a feeling it also will become a stone evo if it ever returns.

You can get Psyshield Bash on Stantler in Scarlet & Violet. It's an egg move it can inherit from Wyrdeer. Wyrdeer can learn the movie via move reminder. However, the evolution is just blocked from happening. Interestingly, Wyrdeer is programmed to learn the move upon evolving from Stantler, even though it is impossible to evolve Stantler into Wyrdeer in Scarlet & Violet.
