@@harrywaters7718 I think you will find that Ireland just like Switzerland and Sweden remained NEUTRAL during WW2 but were much quicker to release British Airmen, Sailors etc that ended up on Irish Soil than Germans who were interned to the end of the War. Google that if you don't believe me. They also quickly gave permission for British Ships to operate in Irish Waters. If your Grandfather fought against the evil of Fascism then he is a credit to your Family just like the Irishmen who fought in the International Brigades in Spain against Franco Fascist Hordes.
