I was 2 weeks in Turkey as a solo female traveler (third time) and I think people are friendly. Some men are aggressive but overall people are very kind and helpful. As a solo, black female traveler, (I'm from NYC) I think I drew a lot more attention (the endless stares were unbearable sometimes) more than I would like to be honest, but it wasn't negative. Also, I don't think that is the right group of people to talk about racism. You should have some African/black people to speak on their experiences. It would be interesting. All of the people on this panel can "look" Turkish. The Australian guy of Turkish descent is soooo Australian in how he speaks and handles himself.

"Also, I don't think that is the right group of people to talk about racism. You should have some African/black people to speak on their experiences." LOL. What a USA centric point of view. Actually not only usa centric but its kinda narrow minded. Not only blacks are subjected to racism. Especially if you are in Turkey, where not much black people live. And to be honest, from what i've seen black people who live in Turkey is probably one of the most positively regarded group.

Hi Aladdin, could you give a coverage on the Jewish population of Turkey and Israeli tourists? I want to know how they feel in Turkey currently. That could be a good one. I am originally from India, converting to Judaism here in Canada, and I must say, I was very impressed with your Urdu/Hindi in 3 months. I would love to do that with Turkish one day, just so I can watch the amazing shows you guys make without the subtitles. My recent favorite has to be Kulüp, and too bad I have to rely on subtitles to see it. I think such a bold show would not be possible in bastions of democracy like US or France about their past wrongdoings to their Jewish populations. Could you also highlight more about the show and what you think of it, as there is very little coverage of it in the English language, and it would be a great exposure to people about all the amazing things coming out of Turkey at this point rather than all the doom and gloom of the currency crisis going on.

It’s better to bring at least one person from each race of the world to answer this question properly, and you only have one race to answer it. Just like the Turkish fella said it’s the same everywhere you go in the world there’s ups and downs, every group of people in the world have good and evil. But in my opinion, Turkiye is not ready for the world yet, and I am not talking about the language barrier it’s the simple reason as many Turkish people want to know one question, “why are you coming to our country?”. Maybe this is a question asked only black people or others who fled here from a war torn nation, Turkish people need to understand that foreigners boost the economy, they’re not here in refugee camps, there’s always a benefit to inviting foreigners they bring different perspectives and cultures, maybe the number of foreigners could be controlled, but as one should welcome their guests, nations should have a welcoming attitude towards visiting foreigners, one area in particular is the government centers, if they don’t speak other languages, have interpreters available, and don’t allow the foreigners to bring their own interpreter, how do they except anything to work, that’s saying you shouldn’t be here in another language. I know exceptionally good hearted Turkish people, but the majority says otherwise.

On the topic of racism, the guests wouldn’t really feel it that much tbh. You have an ‘attractive’ woman, an original turk and white person. But how about someone from Africa or eastern part of Asia like India, Pakistan, Malaysia etc. that question would be good to know as I’ve heard it’s rough being black in Turkey.

@@muaawiyahtucker İ can assure you, there's a hell of a lot more racism between the Asian communities. People seem to beg for a reason to dislike one another. Look at İndia, Pakistan, or even Bangladesh. They hate each other. And this list could go on all day. İm sorry my friend, but it seems like your begging, searching for racism that does not exist in Turkey. Turks are not racist, it's as simple as that. Yes, there are individual events, individual problems arising from personal issues, but this does not make anyone racist.

Pakistani most people can speak English and they can speak Urdu obviously as mother tongue. Actually English is universal language . Everybody must learn it. By the way you can’t forget your own language if English is your second language. Learning English is language skill unless you can talk with everybody if your country is favourite country of tourism for world like turkey. Obviously there is advantage of speaking English there is no disadvantages. Turkish is most beautiful race like 80 percent of Syrian, Iraqi, Iranian, Pakistani, Jordanian, afghani andcMiddle East Arab. They have medium white to wheatish skin tone with balanced facial features . Syrian have most beautiful skin tone I have ever seen in my life with most beautiful facial features. Syrian race belongs to hazarat yusuf race which are the most beautiful prophet like most Middle Eastern Arabs and turkey as well.

Honestly, I found some of expressions very odd here! If you live in a foreign country, like 5 years or more, how come you don't learn, at least, try to learn the local language.. This is the simple way of showing your gratitude.. If you don't, you have no respect for country or her people.. You are then probably an arrogant person and despise the people of country.. In that sense, you can't expect tolerance, but in Turkey, people would still love and respect you.. Because they still think you are one of them and show you respect, even if maybe you don't deserve it.. I am astonished that Syrian girl is living there 7 years, and Aussi guy has been living since 1993!! Still no Turkish 🤔

Turkey has a secular government. While there are some social conflicts between the more conservative, religious people and the non-religious/atheist people, its not really any different than what you would see in any western EU or North American country. Honestly, one of the few criticisms I've heard people say of Ataturk was actually how strict he was against the religious when instituting the secular government.
