@frontrowviews3 жыл бұрын
@@mitchell-wallisforce7859 I always see attack mode and fan boost as DRS and ERS in F1, the sport would probably be better off without them but they are needed right now
@vl30053 жыл бұрын
@@mitchell-wallisforce7859 Attack Mode is the only strategy element the FiA can implement at this time, so it's very much needed in my book. Fanboost is actually a popularity contest for the drivers and nothing more. This is really just to give the fans a way of showing their support for their favorite drivers. Every racing series has that, DOTD in F1 etc... Usually the drivers that get it only use it for one overtake, but the problem is they then have to revert to efficiency mode because they use more energy for that single overtake, so it balances out really, and the driver that lost the position has a fighting chance of getting it back... happened a few times, really. Seriously, though. If you say these "gimmicks" are what's keeping you from giving it "genuine effort to watch" you're just lying. If you had said something else worth mentioning as a drawback I might have taken you seriously, but now it's just too late. Truth is - it's an awesome racing series that's REALLY innovating racing. You just have to watch the Monaco race of this year (The full GP track this time, don't know why they didn't do it in earlier seasons) to understand it's power.
@alexanderguesthistorical78423 жыл бұрын
I think that's absolute genius. I think as the team solve all the problems associated with the first outdoor/indoor race, more racetracks will follow suit. Once Covid has (finally!) gone, the benefit of housing half of the circuit in one huge building, and the other half remaining as a traditional outdoor event will become overwhelming. The first of many, I bet. And the first one is in London! Brill. Hopefully it will stay there indefinitely too, and be the "gold standard" of it's type. Mind you, when it rains, how will the tyres cope???............

Oh sweet baby Jesus..... That may be the best video on this channel, which is saying a LOT for Chain Bear content. Credit to you, the dude who was filming, and whoever the hell was behind that world-class editing (probably also you, but the point still stands). Easily one of the finest pieces of motorsport content on the internet as far as balancing entertainment, information, and the general vibe. The production value was off the charts. Top marks, Stuart. Bloody well done! Oh yeah, and to cap it all off, I completely agree with your viewpoint about the race itself, though for slightly different reasons. Formula E's incredibly intrusive and extremely pervasive gimmickry turns me off of it before I ever even give the races a chance, but from what I DID see of that London E-Prix, there was a lot of good along with the bad. Shenanigans can be forgiven, but this race, and this track, showcase better than anything just how much potential Formula E has if it could just ditch Attack Mode and Fanboost already. The unsavory aspects - both of the race itself and the series at large - overshadowed the immense logistical achievement that had to occur for this event to even happen. One that, again, you did an exceptional job of displaying. Basically, you did a good job. A very good job. If Formula E are smart, they'll try and collaborate with you on some videos like Autosport once did.

Tempelhof is great as a venue simply because they make full use of the airport terminal building for all sorts of stuff. I went to the 2016 ePrix that year, and aside from seeing Alain Prost in the flesh, some stuff was just so cool. They used the baggage reclaim belt to put things like tyres, spanners and wheel guns, which was a visual delight, and the check-in desks were used for meet & greet and autograph signing sessions, with each check-in desk done up as if each team was an airline. I do hope that when Gen 3 comes around, they make full use of Tempelhof to expand the track to include some of the runways.
