Two things to remember: One, just because someone CAN pay for something doesn’t mean you have to, this game works in favor of both f2p and p2w players, the change in the brawl pass is a perfect example of that. Two, they need SOME ways to make money. You can’t complain about every purchasable thing in the game if you’re fine without them. Sometimes the Brawl Stars community forgets how spoiled they are compared to many other game communities -such as Clash Royale-

You're cooking, I started clash 2 years ago and ever since it has got worse and worse for the f2p. What mostly ruined clash was the OP evo cards they would add every 2-3 months making it unfair unlike brawl stars. I started playing Brawl in 2021 deleted it (lost everything because I didn't know it wouldn't save the stuff) and got it back late 2023. It has a way better community and f2p events. I have improved from my old account just because of all the events and even have some would consider OP characters. This is all from just playing the game and the events. Brawl is way better then shitroyale

@@NotVery_Wise You don't know whether players spend more money on cosmetics or progress, and I have a good feeling it's progress since it gives, guess what, actual progress in the game. That isn't any different from tons of games out there. Also, you can always focus on upgrading the brawlers you want to max out first and play them while getting the resources to get another brawler upgraded. It's going to take longer to max out as a f2p player, that's just how it is. Again, compared to many games out there, you make good progress in BS without spending money. P2w players are going to have some advantage, be grateful it isn't a bigger gap than it is now. Look at the reply above this one as an example

I cant count the amount of matches that were basically unwinnable because of power level differences, the gap between power 7 and power 11 with hypercharge is gigantic, power levels are the most p2w thing about the game by far, especially because they lock gadgets, gears stapowers, and hypercharges until you reach a high level

The major difference between lvl in BS and CR is that you only need to max a few brawlers to be able to play with maxed + hypercharge in ranked, while in cr you have to max every card + if they nerf your deck or if a new card destroys it, you're good to max 8 other cards🤔 I won't say BS is a 100% fair for f2p players, but its fairer than most of the games on the market and a paradise for f2p players coming from Clash Royale

They have a family to feed plus compared to other games brawl pass is rather cheap. There's tons of rewards that you can get for free. From skins to pins to brawlers every one of them are in starr drops and they're giving tons of them. Even in a few hours spongebob event is starting which you can obtain some free skins and brawlers if it's not unlocked for you.

Things to consider: the special events we've been getting have been added to compensate for club league, even when they could make mega pig be every 2 or 1 week. But the collabs are fun. The brawl pass, even though you have to pay for it, both the free and paid passes were buffed. They couldn't keep their promise of getting 1 free hypercharge with every update that added them. The amount of tokens we get in the free pass is not enough with how many brawlers their releasing each year. Starr drops seemed better on paper than just the rewards at the end of the pass (how it was right before the starr drop), but have actually been worse for most players due to relying more on luck (the very reason they removed boxes, even then boxes gave more rewards) the value of token doublers has gone down and if you get them in a starr drop it's a complete loss, getting 200 token doublers, when it took 1900 tokens to get a starr drop. Also the unnecessary cosmetics that you'll get instead of progression. It'd be nice to at least choose between cosmetics or pregression (while still being random). So brawl stars has become more pay to progress than before, I'd say even getting nerfed on the f2p side due to not being able to get as many resources and brawlers that we used to get from boxes (on average, since many people couldn't get legendaries)

I think BS is Pay to progress fast. The only time that I felt BS is pay to win was when they released broken Kit as early access and left for a vacation or something it was nuts in showdown for about a week or two.

Ever since the brawl pass improvements, I was also convinced it would be impossible to get a mythic or legendary brawler. Though I have changed my mind now, for a few reasons... 1. Limited time events give so much more progression than we need 2. Starr drops are criminally underrated, I used to hate them, but legendary Starr drops (most likely you could get 2 per season (just from the pass, even more from dailies, mega pig, limited time events even)) legendary drops have a pretty high chance to give you a brawler or a lot of credits. 3. Mastery, I know, it is a grind mist of the time, but silver 3 mastery rewards give huge stacks of credits, just make sure to save them up for something big. So yeah, this community is spoiled, and yet they complain

I have been playing brawl stars for a decent and only bought gem offers and brawl passes. Something to keep in mind is that I never gemed boxes or buy progression, all the gems went to cosmetics. Compared to many other games I've played, brawl stars is the most f2p in the aspect that you are not forced to spend hundreds to be more powerful. Now yes power 11, gadgets and gears and stuff those are expensive and make you buy them. But the price is significantly less than other games like Clash Royale or any of the MOBA games. In conclusion, while there are still problems like coin shortage and the amount of progression released like 2 new brawlers and 6 hypercharges, the game is extremely f2p. For a mere 10$ you can get a lot of value in the game compared to hundreds from other games which barely do anything.

As a free 2 play player i think that brawl stars is NOT p2p, but its more of not catering as much to the f2p side, as although p2p people can get some benefits like earlier brawls(which we can get too, at a later time),money for HC (we also can get it with coins).But the main problem is that f2p players don't have enough resources, like coins and power points or credits, even with most of my 60 bralwers as silver. WITH MOE AND KENJI, I am in literal debt as to get them u need 6k credits, and the amount f2p gets is 2k,WHICH IS 4k debt. And most of my brawlers are only power 4. So p2p does NOT have an advantage,f2p jut has a disadvantage to base line progression, as i believe that brawl stars should buff the free to play brawl pass .

People confuse terms often, not only in the Brawl Stars community but also in general gaming. Brawl stars is not Pay 2 Win but Pay To Fast. Buying a pass and completing it gives you many rewards that let's you progress on brawlers and it's gear, but so does most of their events so far, it's debatable how good of a event is each one in terms of resources (not to say impossible) so I'll just stick to tell my experience and thoughts has a semi new F2P player: I've been playing for almost 3 months so far and I have 3 Brawlers at level 11 with a full build (gears and gadgets) and those are R-T, Darryl and Bonnie (tho Darryl was mostly built by daily loggings) and I might sound bias but whenever I played I don't feel outmatched by a wallet, I might feel a bit bothered when I get beaten by characters that are really good but I can't get them due to being really far on the Star Road that are very good like Meg, Sandy or Gale but I can still pull out a fair fight with someone like R-T, so for me it's not like I can't compete with them, R-T is a very flexible Brawler and I was lucky to get him in a event but even if I didn't get him; Brawlers like Brock, Dinamike, Colt, El Primo and Shelly are charactera that are pretty much imposible to miss, plays different from each other and have a very distinguished role, and most important; are very solid in the meta no matter what. Still; don't I get tired of using R-T, Darryl and Bonnie all the time? Of course, and I'm personally excited to try the gameplay of Brawlers like Mr. P, Larry and Lawrie and Kit, and even if I got them I would need them at high level to use them in the long run. But the thing is that not having them doesn't put me in a immediate disadvantage, but I can definitely pay to get them quicker, Direct purchase, Brawl Pass Plus, you name it, so that's why I think Brawl Stars is P2F and slowly but surely going deeper on it, but far from P2W

F2P that started during CandyLand and sitting at 25k trophies and brawl stars ain't p2w. I have 16 power11 brawlers with gadgets gears and Starr powers and hypers (Gus,Sandy,Jacky, Piper, Tick, Edgay, Poco, Moe, Chuck,Buster,Spike,Max, Charlie,Byron,Bea and Darryl) I currently have 69 brawlers and 45 of them are above power 9 and mostly rank 20+ . It ain't P2W it's P2Progress, the early access brawlers might be harder to deal with in ranked but usually ppl insta ban them, don't expect to instantly win after buying Moe cuz gale and kit are relatively common

Its funny seeing ppl crying about the new progression system but when you looked at our accounts before we had a lot of brawlers with max power points to upgrade them and they would just cost gold cuz we wasted 90 megaboxes to get a legendary and instead we get individual power points 😂 today i was going to upgrade my darryl (enjoy my boy being good before health nerf) and he costed gold only 😂 Bruh before the starroad i dindt had any brawler power 10 (i was a new player only 10 months) cuz of the individual power points thing, and in comparition to my new acc (also 10 months) i have 9 power 11 brawlers and 7 have hypercharge, i have 6 legendaries and got my first mastery not so long ago and heading to second. The mastery system helps a lot to progress and to unlock new brawlers too, the only negative point is the matchmaking, i cant go above 50 trophies in new brawlers cuz i only go against maxed players, the only chance i have is to upgrade em to power 9 (wich throw away the idea of good rewards) Pls supercell fix the matchmaking, ofc it is way quicker now but even if the match takes 3min to start i would preffer that than having 0 sec matchmaking and only fight against maxed masters bellow 100 trophies
