The "song" in the beginning of the movie does actually make sense. It is inspired by a native norwegian "joik"

yeah but it's never used in the movie ever again until the ending of Frozen. so NO it doesn't make sense. In the Lion King, they used African instruments and got an entire choir to sing in Swahili, a language in Africa. So the music and songs all fit with the setting of the Lion King, using African instruments and Swahili vocals for EVERY song, unlike Frozen. If they really wanted this to be the next gen Lion King, then they should've put more effort in the plot, and the music.

xXSilver146Xx OK, it never really needed to be explained since it was so obvious, but here goes. Magic exists in the frozen universe, magical beings are seen, witches are purported to exist. it basically means frozen is a fairly low magic world where humans don't really get exposed to it on a regular basis, some might never see it. Barring some kind of ancestry, say she had a magical great great grandparent or something, the answer is then obvious. She is a freak, as in she is just an anomaly like someone born with a tail or 6 fingers, which is why the x men thing is so apt. X-men's mutants are a more commonplace version of her, since the x men universe itself has been shown to have magic powers through juggernaut and all abilities likely stem from magical reasons or draw on magic to function. This is like a medieval mutant story with only 1 actual mutant. Long story short, Elsa is just an extremely powerful mutant, like magneto level or more. In her world its rare but clearly happens. Narrow sighted people probably kill most though.

After watching this video, me and a friend started to realize that she would pretty much make Ice-man obsolete. after all she builds fully sentient snowmen, envelops an entire nation in snow, reflexively creates a giant Ice monster to protect herself and creates an ice palace in the matter of a day. Ice man would be lucky to make the Ice monster(he's still trying to learn how.) We also tried to put her on power rankings honestly, I think if she were in the marvel universe, she could very easily become omega level. Get her really steaming mad, and let her cause the next ice age. I could see it. Man I really want her to be an X-men student now.

yeah i'd have to agree complete control is more than just snow or no snow. the issue is i can see her going really berserk with her powers. after all she didn't even have full control over her powers and in the course of a couple hours and entire country ( a small one i know) and built 2 of them unconciously oh and can freeze people to straight ice. If she were to use her powers in battle to their full potential it could rival some of the more powerful x-men. though in general you'd be right.

If she was actually taught to use those powers, she could probably so that by the time she was about, what, 7 (X-men level of training vs. trying as hard as possible to supress powers? Think about it)? If she kept on going, she could envelop all of N. America by the time she was 18. Also, it didn't take a day for her to make the castle, she literally did it in SECONDS. Continuing with training would further her powers to what you described future Iceman's being by her late 20's. And, as Elsa is probably not a mutant (watch the Game Theorists' Frozen theory for the best explanation on her powers), she would probably have a normal life span, if not longer (again, watch the theory. Hint: Rapunzel's healing powers.). Ergo, longer time to train. Sooooo, if she could probably do that by her late 20's, imagine what it would be like if she had another 60 years! Then again, Rapunzel could probably add a couple thousand years to that. But... Frozen takes place about 450-500 yrs before X-Men. Watch the theory and then reply mmm'kay?

+EternalTriad thePaladin i don't need to waste my time watching some theory about Elsa because I already know that Elsa will NEVER become as powerful as Iceman. You can say all you want about Elsa, but iceman is an omega level mutant for a reason. Being able to control every aspect of H20, some small feat like freezing a room and killing everyone in it is nothing to Iceman. As I've said, he has already frozen the whole world in a matter of minutes (this was a few years ago when he was still very young) and to add on to that, his whole body is made out of ice. Elsa may be strong, but she is still mortal. In a real battle, even if Elsa were to be given years of training, she will eventually tire out from all the fighting because Iceman is immortal. As long as there is H20 anywhere, be it in the air or deep underground, Iceman will never die because he can transfer his consciousness anywhere and everywhere. She most definitely cannot do that because her body isn't made out of ice. Also, here's a little fact for you, Iceman's powers are (and still are) suppressed as well. He has yet to go out to his fullest potential (as referenced by many people and himself), so, factoring Elsa's inexperience doesn't matter as well. Moreover, even when he was holding back his powers, Bobby was still able to create a state of absolute zero, freeze a nuclear explosion, control an army of clones that are limited by his own consciousness, grow into sizes as tall as a skyscraper, cause the whole world to be in winter, literally freeze hell, teleport people and himself, and hold his own against thor and many other x-men simultaneously (thor is actually scared of him although he has faced so many ice giants himself). Thus, since his potential is limitless, whatever Elsa can do, he can do the same as well but amplified. All in all, there's really no point in arguing about how Elsa can be as powerful as Bobby when we all know that if he were to be given the same amount of training and stopped himself from giving in to his fear of evolving his powers, he will still be leaps ahead of Elsa in terms of power no matter how much she trains. PS, there's no point factoring in age into this argument. Bobby only got his powers when he was about 13. The year Frozen took place doesn't mean shit as well. Also, if you can't even remember Iceman's name, than I'm quite sure you know nothing about him.

But I still think it's strange that they would focus on this 1 cover when there are many full covers of this song, which would also be in violation of copyright laws, which are probably more popular and yet they are still on KZbin. It's very doubtful that this is the only one to come to Disney's attention, so that continues to beg the question as to why they would focus on this 1 video. I can understand the fact that HISHE was making some profit from it, but most of this movie's popularity has come from the many fan versions of this 1 song. I'm sure that Disney could have worked something out with them to please both parties, allowing the film to be advertised to an even larger audience. Then again I'm not going to act like I'm an expert on the subject. It's not like I have actually worked for Disney and have a source of reference. This is all just speculation from an outsider. There are plenty of reasonable arguments that one could make in order to justify Disney's decision, but I feel like there are just as many arguments to bring it back to the question of "why ?".
