How Gay Is Every Fire Emblem Three Houses Character? (Ranked)

Happy Pride Month!! Today I'm going back to an old classic: Ranking video game characters based on how gay they are. My Persona one was pretty well received (sort of, there were definitely arguments), so I decided to tackle FE3H characters based on a comment suggestion! Feel free to argue with my takes in the comments.

You really gotta watch the supports for some context: 0 points for Edelgard and Dorothea? The two women who, as early as their B support, said they'd look forward to a relationship together? And their relationship is more heavily inferred in the original Japanese version of the ending. 0 points for Ferdinand and Hubert? In their A+ support, Ferdinand responds to "Is that a gift for someone you fancy" with "Yes, it's a gift for YOU," and Hubert blushes for the only time in the entire game outside of with Byleth. Dorothea/Petra is 100% confirmed lesbians in the Japanese, and even in English, Dorothea's "Devoted Heart" title is reserved for some of her most romantic pairings, so it being reused for Petra is rather telling. Catherine/Shamir's relationship is practically confirmed by their support and all of their appearances in various games. So long as they don't pair up with anyone else or end up on opposite sides of a war, they're generally considered to be together.

Yeahhhh there’s no way he’s gonna know about any of this since he’s only played Blue Lions so far. 😵‍💫 The Eagles are definitely the gayest by far lol. Dorothea literally improvising an opera for Edelgard was fruity as hell. Doro and Petra cannot shut up about how much they care for each other. Same with Constance and Hapi. Constance and Mercedes is a smidge less explicit than with Hapi, but still pretty damn queer (and my favorite ship 🥰). Edelgard is sapphic as hell with basically every woman she talks to. The entire setup of the Faerghus Knights is gay as hell too. Claude and Lorenz are kinda enemies to lovers but still being enemies lmao

Edelgard and Dorothea are like besties with benefits, but its understandable you wouldnt think that just going by the ending and not seeing their supports. Dorothea in general was on a mission to lez it up with all her female Black Eagles

Don’t worry, Dorothea and Edelgard are explicitly gay as hell in their supports, idk why that was just skipped over in the ending though. The OG Japanese might be gayer. This happens with quite a few of the pairings. You’ll understand if you play through the other houses and see their supports, but I don’t wanna spoil you on that

As someone that went through all the supports and played all the routes, I largely agree with your rankings. I'd bump Ferdinand/Hubert up because the context of their support chain makes them fruitier. Edelgard/Dorothea's support chain is fruitier too so I'd bump up Edelgard too.

This is a tough thing to do if you haven’t fully listened to the supports since they add a lot of context, but you still did a good job with just the endings! Ironically, Ferdinand/Hubert’s supports are some of the gayest in the game, but their ending was subtextual and got mistranslated. Claude/Lorenz’s was also censored bc there was a wild euphemism in it in JP/Korean (“riding the deer” like… 😂). Anyways, congrats to Dorothea for taking home the gayest award 🎉

@@mintmoonlight Dorothea was so thirsty for the ladies that, even though she went to the academy explicitly with the purpose of finding a husband, she couldn't resist the urge to hit on any girls she crushed on. Even to to point of crashing and burning with her attempts to woo one of the most canonically straight Pegasus Knights in the history of the franchise, a famously sapphic coded default class to have. Any other game, and she would have at least had a chance at winning the heart of a flying horse girl, but not with Ingrid. And she crushed on her hard, too, even insisting herself into their shared paralogue. Like, it's a bit sad their support ends so abruptly. A B+ rank where they come to a more amicable understanding would have been nice, but I do feel like it helps to better validate and contextualize all the possible flavors of interactions the game can explore.

Edelgard is a complete disaster lesbian for female byleth so she should be in is the only of the three lords with a S rank with both byleth( along with rhea having a S rank with female byleth so I think fByleth is the canon byleth)she should be S rank on the tier list now Also I’m just gonna bitch for a bit female byleth can marry rhea, edelgard, mercedes, and sothis while male byleth (without the dlc) gets fucking lindhart gilbert and alois NOT FUCKING CLAUD

It is an actual HATE CRIME that: 1.) Claude is the straightest lord out of the three house leaders 2.) Yuri and Ashe don't have a support and paired ending together!!! I mean I'm probably always gonna marry Yuri to Male Byleth so it doesn't really matter to me, but it's the principle!!!
