Graduating during the pandemic and facing the closure of his nonprofit startup, Imran confronted a profound question amidst a seemingly meaningless job: ‘If I had only a year to live, how would I spend it?’ This led him to an extraordinary 84-day adventure, living out of his car and traversing 48 US states and 15,298 miles to gather life wisdom from 1,000 strangers. Imran’s story is more than a personal narrative-it’s a call to rethink the quarter-life crisis, not as a setback, but as a pivotal moment for self-discovery and reshaping one's life goals. This talk promises to enlighten and inspire, offering valuable insights into embracing life’s challenges as opportunities for growth and transformation.
Imran Nuri is an artist, storyteller, and motivational speaker based in Chicago, Illinois. He has a background in nonprofits, marketing, and social media management and graduated from The Ohio State University. He is best known for his black-and-white photo series and book "Advice From America" in which he gathered life advice from 1,000 strangers across the lower 48 US states in 2022. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Mid-life crises were seemingly most common among the so-called Silent Generation. I understand that such things are cyclical in nature.

Victim mentality. This guy is gonna be in debt for so long and realize he can't just take out loans, travel, and make KZbin videos and live whatever life he wants.

The reality is there's no such thing as a quarter life crisis and for the majority of hard-working people they can't afford to have a midlife crisis.

Existe uma real necessidade de se manter, pagar as próprias contas. O mundo não vai funcionar de maneira diferente por causa das crises de ninguém. É aprender a suportar e seguir em frente.

The funny thing about this comment is that he says people have the quarter life crisis because no one is telling them what to do anymore. And you didn't go through it because you had someone yelling at you telling you what to do
