Greetings from Australia. I drove the UniMog in the Army. We used them for many roles. When I was in Artillery they were our Gun and Ammunition tractors. What a perfect Tractor. Why Australia never got the newer UniMog baffles me. A beautiful piece of kit, reliable and could go many places, easy to work on, easy to drive. Great for the harsh Australian environments. These new versions are also superb German engineering.

I used to have a 1987 U1000 Unimog. It was an awesome off-road vehicle. It was built like a tank that would go just about anywhere and would always created a crowd of admirers. Unfortunately, when we moved to the Philippines we were unable to take it with us. I’d love to have another one, but really can’t justify the cost for a part time recreational vehicle.
