While such assembly lines need continuous orders to keep them running otherwise it is a big loss the company and big loss of employment. Also this order was an order from private sector who would ask for the planes at lowest cost and not necessarily go for deals which will benefit India in the 2nd order.

Actually, the captain on the Airblue flight was a civilian, and the first officer was a former F16 pilot. The report outlines that it was, in fact, the captain who was wrong.

Brother a simple fact to negate the assumption that PIA is a loss bearing airline. MONTHLY INCOME AVG 15BN SALARY AND PERKS 1BN FEUL AND TAXES 0.5BN MISC(LEASE PAYMENTS AND OTHER EXPENDUTURES) 5 T 6 BN Remaining 7.5BN (UNKNOWN) Just go throgh these remaining balnce root cause and u will know the reason for PIA DOWN FALL In commercial aspect.

Just a small correction. I followed PIA crash very closely. Piolet didn't forget to lower the landing gear. He lowered it at a very high altitude and speed at which landing gear can not be lowered. It is a safety feature in Airbus.

Most surprisingly this “Aviation Expert” does not know that in Margalla crash it was the Captain who was a purely “Civilian Pilot” and the much younger Co-Pilot was the Air Force retiree. He reversed the facts knowingly or unknowingly.

Wrong information. My husband an ex air force pilot went through all stages to reach the Captaincy. He was the first officer on all the aircrafts. Finally after four or five years he became a Captain of ATR.

PIA is a over staffed airline that can not even keep its plane clean. The airline have been piloted by unqualified pilots. EU have audited PIA many times and asked seious question about safety SOP. Pilots have not responded to radio calls over Europe. Some pilots also piloted planes under infuence of alcohol. So Ghulam Sarwar Khan probably saved some lifes. The best thing is to close down PIA. There is so much about this airline that can not be fixed.

A fact correction: According to my research PIA owns 8/15 A320s & 11/12 777s and 3 atrs so it makes a total of 22 planes owned not leased

For a journalist, the guest shows very little actual journalism. Most of the discussion was around fanning popular opinions. Most of the comments revolved around vague assumptions, phonecalls and dinners with pilots and no facts. People like him should actually educate people about the aviation industry and not parrot statements like “pilot error” which has long since been used to simplify organisational issues. On the subject of the regulator, CAA is always held back by the ministry from taking action because the ministry controls both CAA and PIA. Lastly, PIA before calling PIA worthless, go and have a look at the facilities they have which are unused and wasted.

It is not the case of late descending only and I don't think he forgot to release landing gear. I think landing gear was intentionally opened late to reduce descending speed and when it did not open engine couldn't rev up due to very little time left. May be few crucial second were destroyed in confusion until they realized landing gear had not opened.

I wanted to go for aviation training for commercial pilot license but after hearing all that I had to go for some other degree. I am still interested in that degree but still it sucks being in uni and studying all the time. Wasting time even if it is less expensive than university. If the aviation employement was normal (covid ko bhi include kr k) I would've went for aviation

Based on size of Pakistani aviation market , there are presently 50-60 aircraft spread accross 5-6 airline.... Pakistan airlines can only be profitable by consolidation...... 1 airlines having 50 jets serving the market, so a government run airlines is suitable ... A single private airlines will became monopoly. Presently PIA has 15 -16 , sheereen has 10-12 jets etc... Total fleet size of Pakistan airlines is 50-60... Present paxtani airlines are Too small to make enough profit to provide services to small , non profitable routes like Balochistan , FATA , hunza etc . PS: India airlines together has 700 jets presently ( Indigo 300, air India 120, etc) Indian market is to big due to 130 cr population with 21 % proverty rate ( 30 cr poor peaple )

So yield is all to do with revenue or profit airline makes per passenger. It’s a relatively newer concept in airline industry. Most international airlines don’t offer any major discounts to their employees. Definitely not to their families.

Aoa. First of all i really want to thank you for bringing this podcast for the people who don't know what actually happened after the senseless statement of gulam sarwar. Secondly i want to correct the wrong information given by the guest in this podcast about the absence of approach controller and Tower controller on their positions. Both controllers were present on their respective positions at that time, you can clearly hear the voice of approach controller instructing the pilot twice to make an orbit to achieve the proper altitude required for ILS approach but the pilot ignored these instructions and took an unstable approach due to which the accident happened. The impression that the controllers were not present on their seats is totally wrong. I request you to plz Don't spread such kind of misunderstandings . Thanks

Please don't mislead people. First of all you need to understand the difference between approach and tower control. Approach was there tower was NOT there. Had tower control been on its place they would have noticed that the landing gears were not down. The engine touched and they would have reported to the pilot about all of this. You hear nothing. We have the audio on our channel, please mention where approach hands over the flight to tower? Nowhere. What Tahir is saying is also backed the published inquiries.

@@PakistanAviation you are misleading people by spreading fake information which you received from your unauthentic sources. Tower controller was present in control tower he observed the scrubbing of the engines with the runway and conveyed to approach controller on telephone 📞 . As far as the observation of landing gears is concerned, plz check the location of control tower before blaming tower controller. The location of control tower is more than 2.5 kms from the threshold of the runway due to which it is nearly impossible to observe landing gears from such a large distance from naked eyes. I strongly disagree with his analysis about PK8303. The landing gear were lowered, but they didn't actually lower. This can happen, but it's the control and ground towers job to identify this as pilot can't see the tires. If they had, he would have done go around before touching down or manually engaged landing gear. Gross misappropriation on pilot by this individual.

Once again an excellent podcast. This was much needed to explain the trouble caused by Ghulam Sarwar’s irresponsible statement and this podcast also explained many other facets of civil aviation in Pakistan. Just one critque for the host please try to control your jokes which sometimes take away the importance of the debate. For example at 1:00:50, the guest is about to make a serious point about pilot’s wives who are under distress but before that you make a ridiculous joke on them. I can point several of these comments which are a distraction in an otherwise excellent debate.

i know one pakkstani pilot who was ex pak air force. HE HAD FAKE COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENSE. He was on that list. He was removed and did not get any job and was in depression. In canada, be settled with his wife and 2 daughters. His wife had to do Tim horton baker job at minimum wages😂 pakistan main sabh 2 numberi hai, soo er or later all will be busted. Army, politicians, civil servants totally 2 numberi in pakkstan😅😢

In all fairness…this interview seems like a one sided story..dawn wrote a article about this and action was taken against 82 pilots..there was also evidence of corruption from officials in the licence branch of civil aviation authority…Pakistan international airline also has a sketchy safety record…tahir himself said pilot made a bunch of errors like forgetting to turn on landing gears which clearly points towards incompetence and lack of training.

Ofcourse. All air traffic control positions were fully manned. The relevant controller was in contact with the pilot throughout and provided the best possible advice/instructions and continuously monitored the aircraft position. The relevant controller also has a fully functioning radar at their disposal. I take issue with two parts of the guest's statement. 1) the control tower was empty. (It was not). 2) the controller was sitting in a 'bunker' and couldn't see. Or something like that. (Which is also irrelevant as the controller could be sitting anywhere as long as they're able to provide air traffic control service to the pilot. Thanks!
