I just started working for them and never realized how big they really are! I always thought they were a budget bike but actually, they are just a good bang for the buck! They r so cheap because they manufacture their own frames and wheels!! Unlike trek, Scott, and schwin(all bikes that giant manufactures) they don’t have to up charge because they actually make their own stuff! Great company!!

Interesting article about Giant and their top quality Aluminium: “We go to the extent of smelting our own aluminium, extrude all of our tubes, do all our own forming and do all of the heat treating,” roadcyclinguk.com/gear/giant-defy-aluminium-range-overview.html

My first "legit" bike was an '06 Rincon. It stood up to a good ten years of abuse with one complete parts overhaul after seven years before it was stolen. I still remember how it danced on the trail after I'd replaced the drivetrain, forks, tires, brakes and such and how much fun it was to shred. It went everywhere and did everything. Now, I have a '17 ATX1 which is like a bigger version of the old Rincon (with a straight top tube unlike those silly bent ones Norco popularised). It doesn't have the same poppy personality, but with better tires, forks, brakes and drivetrain it glides over so much it's unbelievable. I'm looking forward to ten more years on a Giant.

They've come a long way. My first Giant is the TCR C3, but the bottom bracket actually visibly moves when applying load. After that it's couple off season (much cheaper) Kuota KOM and Cervelo R5. Thought to give aero bike a try and went for the Propel Advanced Pro, it puts down power nicely with the oversized BB, I ain't pro but quite like it. For what it matters the disc version is better because of the cable routing and descent, we can still choose the rim brake on SLR1 but kinda regret that a little bit. Yeah they're different bikes but I like the Propel.

How is the ride compared to the TCR? I have a 10 year old TCR and the thing I like about it is it feels so stable when cornering. Just lean it in and it follows a line with no drama.

I have the top of the line 2019 tarmac and the top tcr 2013. Tcr is on top! But it's almost equal. Tcr more comfort. Tarmac more aggressive. So both are very similar. I thought when I first rode my tarmac that Giant made the frame. It felt like tcr quality. I heard rumors Giant did. My 2 cents.

It went together easily in less than an hour. kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

earthstick some yes some not See the thing is with a lot of uneducated overseas Filipinos, they end up working as a factory worker, domestic helper, restaurant staff (not chef), and other jobs you would land if you weren’t fully educated. They still think theres more opportunities for them outside our country
@earthstick4 жыл бұрын
@@kinangeagle133 But if they are uneducated they will get no more than minimum wage. That might be more than in their own country and they might also benefit from the general standard of living in the other country. This is essentially what happens in Britain. People work for minimum wage but receive the benefits of a free health service, stable government etc. I think economic migration is short sighted and can be bad for both nations, especially regarding skilled labour. People in Britain who are for migrant labour say how our health service could not run without foreign doctors but it could, we would train our own. And the places skilled workers come from are losing the wealth creators. For unskilled labour it may not be such a problem but unskilled labour can be found locally. And if lose people don't have work then they require benefits that must be paid by who? Taxing the unskilled migrant on minimum wage?
