I just can't believe this review or any of the reviews I've seen of the Wahoo Kickr. I have never tried the Wattbike, so I have no experience with that, but I'm currently researching an alternative for the Wahoo Kickr V6, which I purchased roughly a month ago. I saw it getting so many positive reviews particularly from GCN, so I picked it up, but I'm so disappointed with it. People say it's quiet, but it is not. I use ear plugs to be able to use it indoors. To me, it also doesn't feel realistic. In my local gym we have the BodyBike's and to me that should be pretty far from a real biking experience, but I still think the Wahoo Kickr feels more unreal. Every pedal stroke is just a little bit unpleasant and on my last ride (after I had for umphteenth time taken the bike of the trainer and relubricated everything), I just thought f... this, I need to get a device with less maintenance, which doesn't feel like it is destroying my bike and is far less noisy - like the bodybike's in my gym. Then I can just use my road bike in the summer. Also, changing gears to often in Zwift? I don't know which geniuses designed those courses, but they go up and down every 50 meters, so I change gears every 20 seconds or so, at least once a minute on most of their routes - even the supposedly flat ones, and sticking to a set power target is completely impossible. So cancelled my Zwift subscription too. Finally, the accuracy of my Wahoo Kickr is roughly 50 watts off what I've ever been measured at before, so I don't buy the "accurate to 1%" at all

convert coz all rim brakes ive used are ass mooshy and cant stop you going down a hill, and unless youve paid for a $10000 tuning, the brakes with either rub against your wheels when you dont want, or when youre trying to break theyll be applying 0.1% of their power

The fact that you are riding your Brompton in jeans speaks volumes. You look so fit....I can't wait to bring mine on next overseas travel (UK being one of them) I don't find the Brompton more challenging on hills. It's better on flat land vs. Hilly, but I've managed both.

I had this experience many years ago on the road during a 17% climb where a gentleman that was in his 60's and I then in my 30's (now mid 50's) and he came up behind our group and asked if he could join. We said yes.......me thinking I would show this old dude the way to climb and he blistered me like a red-headed school kid!!!! Found out at the top, he was a retired pro cyclists! I ate crow that day while my lungs felt like they were on fire!

Disk brakes are better i ended up putting my head through a windscreen getting a massive gash to my head and a broken collar bone because it was raining one evening and the spray and oil off the road stopped my rim brakes from working i just couldn't stop thankfully i didn't feel a thing i was out cold the only good thing about rim brakes is they are only a few pounds to replace

Because I have limited knowledge of bikes I can't do this project maybe you can Gears were meant to be put on a wheel for you to exercise your arms same as a leg arm Exerciser So when you move the wheel with your arms you start at a light weight and after a certain number of turns you increase the gears strength so your arms moves a heavier weight This is how people get muscles They lift small weights and then heavy weights The advantage of wheel with gears is you don't need the weights and can put on muscles anywhere Let me know if you understand Thanks for the video

I don't have any problem with the modulation and braking power on my rimbrake road and gravel bikes. I just had to set them up correctly. Although I have hydraulic disc brakes on my mountain bikes due to worse conditions like water and mud on the trails in the forest, which can eat up the rim fast on the rimbrake bikes.

I’m thinking about getting a bike. Do you recommend disc brakes or rim brakes? I will be riding in neighborhood on pavement. No hills. No racing. No marathons. And what is the maintenance on disc brakes?

Too much focus on the technical aspect, which nobody really wants to know. We want to know how to use the thing. And that takes a back seat.

disc brakes all the way. Rim brakes were always way too inconsistent, especially in changing weather. Wet rims make for a very unsafe ride. Not to mention how quickly the brake pads wear down on rim systems. Rim brakes were good for a non-practical and non-safety era such as the one in which they were made, but now, we actually got smarter and no longer ride like neanderthals (mostly).

I've used a hub-based power meter. CycleOps. I believe I will start using it again, to build my fitness starting with zone 2 training. I will use this method until I purchase a new bike with modern technology and geometry. I'm using a 2007 rim brake bike. It will do the job. Thanks for sharing

Climbing and headwinds are two instances where you REALLY feel the disadvantage of tiny wheels. If you haven't ridden a bike with 16" wheels it's shocking how much less powerful you feel than on a road bike when you encounter either of those obstacles.

The flat handlebar isnt the best for a brompton, it moves your center of gravity forward giving you that wobble people dont like.
