Holy duo of hegemony: Print money to buy weapons, use weapons to maintain the power of dollar
@戚文玮4 жыл бұрын
The military forces the dollar to be linked to oil. The US dollar is the most profitable commodity in exchange for the world’s commodities. Every country needs oil and must exchange commodities for dollars. The cost of paper is very low, only a few cents. China must stop this dollar hegemony. Because we also want to exchange paper for commodities without worrying about inflation.
@戚文玮4 жыл бұрын
In fact, China paid the most commodities, and then we went to buy oil, or traded in dollars with other countries, everyone had to buy oil. And the United States got the goods without paying anything, yes, just a piece of paper!

Correction the U.S dollar was off the gold reserve starting 1917, the U.S dollar is a fiat currency, and only has value because people give it value, you Americans think you’re paying taxes to help out your country grow as far as pay for infrastructure food-stamps hospitals etc. but that couldn’t be far from the truth, because in reality the U.S government used to print its own money until 1917, the federal reserve took over the printing of the U.S governments money and whenever the U.S government wants money lets say 500-million the federal reserve would print the money out of thin air. if you and i printed money we would go to jail, JFK was signing executive order 11110 on June 4 1963 to put the dollar back to the gold reserve and give the printing power and control back to the U.S government and its people, he was later Murdered 5 months later by the CIA in conjunction with the mafia leader sam giancana November 22 1963 RIP, since the request of the money is greater than a million dollars the money would just be inputed digitally plus interest, the U.S government in return would write bond-notes to the federal reserve basically saying “we would pay back all borrowed money plus interest. That interest is payed in the form of taxation. So you people pay tax to the federal reserve not to help the community, stop saying “My taxes are going here” in reality you’re taxes are going to an old dude in a tux. I’m 19 and foreign and a rebal to this system i don’t want to be a slave for this system so fellow Americans what are you going to do about it...? @Spaghetter8135 жыл бұрын
@@titanproductions3628 the core problem with your position is that you are defining currencies as paper. Gold is valuable due to its rarity, but so is the US dollar- as it is not about the supply of paper but rather about the supply of a federally-backed note. Nations maintain gold stockpiles because gold is a valuable asset that can be liquified rather easily, but governments tend to stockpile their financial resources in a variety of assets and currencies. Furthermore, unlike a banknote, gold has other uses in science and no one has real control over its supply long term should it become possible to produce it artificially at an affordable price or perhaps mine it off-planet. This makes it potentially unstable as well, if loosing 26% of its purchasing power in the between 2005 and 2014 and the fact that its price constantly fluctuates doesn't already prove that. Of course, as soon as someone disagrees with your position you immediately call them an idiot because you have attained sagely knowledge of conspiratorial economics from the Sovereign Citizen Institute of the Global Flat Earth Society.

Jakub A i lost so much brain cells reading that autobiography that i became you. Once again you cannot put gold and paper on the same pedestal, gold till the dawn of end of humanity will not lose its value. How does the U.S doller have a value if its not backed by anything...? Its just printed upon request.... the more its printed the more inflation and so on, please explain and refrain from using any profanity.

@@dr.z7958 it adds up to 200% because two currencies are involved in every (most) international transactions. If every country other than America converts their currency into USD you can say that USD has 100% dominance, since that's what everyone trades into. If you express that as 50% (like you want it t be) of USD dominance then you'd think that the rest of the world (excluding US) only converts their currency into USD 50% of the time, but this is not true. Hence there's 200% involved and USD is 88% dominance. You can think of it like. the rest of the world exchanges their currency to USD 88% of the time. 44% would only make sense if no countries traded together
@keshavaaumritum15 жыл бұрын
This was a rather good introduction to the situation, but it leaves out a few things. All other nations can run out of USD if they have a prolonged trade deficit. If Canada has a 10 billion dollar trade deficit, then it's USD reserves will deplete at a rate of 10 billion a year. Unless Canada prints some CAD and uses it to buy USD. But this will significantly weaken CAD. However, the US can never run out of USD like other nations can. The US can merely print USD, and USD is good everywhere. Canada and all other countries can and do print new money often, but they can only use it to buy local goods. The US government only makes M0 money. M1 and M2 are made by US banks as they buy assets. US banks can buy assets globally without it costing banks anything at all. Banks buy assets by merely adjusting their ledgers. The asset seller sees a billion more in his bank account and thus believes the bank paid him for the asset. But that is not what the bank has paid him . it is what the bank still owes him. Banks make 20 times more money than the government. A by-product of the 5 percent capital requirement, the same as the 5 percent reserve requirement. The US is the wealthiest nation on earth not from its economic system but from having a global money printer ... the US counterfeits all its wealth. All other countries have to earn their USD via a trade surplus. how the US has had a trade deficit of 500 billion (to a trillion) dollars a year for 50 years and still be the most wealthy nation. Socialism is the way many nations have learned to cope and survive in a world where they cannot just print money to pay their bills and buy goods abroad. If any nation other than the US prints money it will lose its value. USD is not trapped within the US border like other currencies are traped within their borders. The world is a big place compared to only the US (5 percent of the world's population). Also, because USD is the only true global currency, putting it in perpetual demand, thus raizing its value even as more is made via US banks purchasing assets globally.
@mullerstephan5 жыл бұрын
I was completely agreeing with you... until you mentioned socialism as an alternative
@keshavaaumritum15 жыл бұрын
@@mullerstephan We might differ in our definition of socialism. Cuba and Russia are not examples of socialism; they are examples of command economies. But even the US has resorted to a command economy a few times during the civil war and WWII. Norway is an example of socialism. Socialism merely means everyone owns a nation's natural resources (oil and ores) via the state owning those resources. I believe in supply and demand in a free market economy. You might think that IPOs (initial public offerings) take care of it. They would if IPOs were public offerings but they are private offerings first. The underwriting banks are the very first buyers. They, in turn, sell to other private banks on the “primary market.” The collection of public exchanges is called the “secondary market” for a good reason. Moreover, when banks buy assets they do so with no cost to them. They essentially counterfeit the money. How the money supply has expanded over a thousand times in the last one hundred years. Only 5 percent of new money is made by the government. The other 95 percent is made by banks as they purchase new assets. The banks get the new assets and the asset sellers get the new bank made money. The money loses its value over time. But the companies that the new bank made money bought have earnings and their values go up a lot over time. Thus, it is far more valuable to get the companies than to get the new money that bought the companies.

America is also the safest and most open market out their. Besides if you really want to complain about Dollar trade you should complain how the Soviet Union failed as that was the dollar competition back in the day but people don't remember to well that at one point it was Dollar or Soviet rubles that you ended up trading with.

@Bangbabangbabangbang Someone hasn't watched or reviewed Peter Zeihan books. You also don't mention how China is the most over-leveraged economy in history and how in the next 20years they will be to busy keeping house together to worry about other things. Just take a look at Hong Kong protests as the future of China. People always think China has been a United Country but in Reality it has only been so for about 400 years in the last 6000 years of recorded history where usually it's about warlords and Dynasties fighting it out for control or other countries occupying the country. They can't even take control of Taiwan right off the coast of China which is the very first step to have any global military influence let alone South Korea, Japan, and United States won't let them into the big pond unless it's a shipping container ship. There is a reason why China's government tries so hard to keep things locked down from capital leaving the country, to any free information on the internet, they know that angry farmers and communists put them in charge long ago and nothing is really preventing the next big crowd of people from throwing them out.

@Alex Mercer The USA sucks at Global Trade because it's not a trading nation only 14-17% imports annually and 7-9% exports annually and the top five biggest trading partners are Mexico, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and it's either Vietnam or China next depending on what day of the trade war. Why trade when you don't have to when everything you need is basically on the same continent the only thing you need after that is cheap labour to make your cheap products. This is why United States fought more with Canada than Mexico during new trade talks because Mexico is seen as a cheaper labour and unskilled underdeveloped economy while Canada is a very aged and old population with very skilled people who are willing to work for cheaper in most cases in their respective skilled trades than their American counterparts.

What the Fed does is lend money at an incredibly low interest rate to banks. This allows banks to profit by lending out to businesses at higher interest rates. These businesses are supposed to invest that loan money into products and services and then pay taxes to the US. They gave low interest money to banks who could then invest in anything they wanted in the world.

What happens when the usd depreciate? Does that mean it would have an effect on the prices of goods and services?
@yellowusbrickus48212 жыл бұрын
When the USD depreciates, it does so against other international currencies that are not pegged to the USD. The countries that now have a relatively stronger dollar can now buy more US goods than they could before with the same amount of their currency. This will mean that US exports will be in higher demand, increasing the price of them. This should not directly affect the price of goods and services unless you're competing with foreign consumers or if they are buying inputs to other goods you purchase such as gas. Demand for foreign goods however will decrease as the relative price has increased which could see an increase in the demand for locally produced goods. This will increase the price of domestic goods and services.

Its 44% (the half of 88%). This graph goes to 200% for whatever reason. If you look at other graphs you'll see the growing influence of the EURO over the years. It's the world's most stable, reliable (and also decentralized) currency. And if Britain joined from the beginning, like it was supposed to, it would have been the most wide spread currency by now. But its just a matter of time...
@hegemonys5 жыл бұрын
matter of time? Britain is definitely gonna leave the EU unless there is some option to re-join, which of course would look bad on Britain if they did. Its like getting back with your ex after realising that he/she was right the whole time.
@mredser765 жыл бұрын
Please elaborate
@Noway12525 жыл бұрын
It's actually correct! It should be 200% since 2 currencies are involved in every transaction done. Plus I wouldn't call the Euro decentralized since its value is influenced by the decisions of a central entity, the European Central Bank. While I would've preferred the UK remaining with the EU, one drawback of being part of the EU is that governments aren't allowed to intervene in the monetary policies of the central bank. This wouldn't allow the governments to issue bonds to their central banks in order to raise more money so that the government can spend more, just like what the US does. This can be seen as pro or con depending on everyone's point of view.
@the_sideshifter5 жыл бұрын
@@Noway1252 The ECB comprises the heads of the other Eurozone Central Banks, which gives it the decentralization I mentioned. There are rules if you want to be a part of the Eurozone, one being not having a deficit, greater then 3%, which curbs the vicious cycle of printing money and inflation and so on and provides the stability I mentioned. And yes, the graph is ''technically correct'', but completely misleading (deliberately or not :)

@@hegemonys Britain will rejoin the EU. First Scotland, then Northern Ireland and then in the end England as well. It might take a decade or 2, but it's inevitable. And when they do, they would no longer have the exemption of not joining the Eurozone, which every new member is required of.

@mohamadmourad18252 жыл бұрын
The first graph at 0:11 contains some fundamental errors: 1) It does not take much to see that the sum of all these "percentages" exceeds 100%. 2) The footnote should rather say that the sums total 200% rather than simply being greater than 100% since every transaction involves 2 currencies. As such, every bar on the graph needs to be divided by 2. Hence, the USD accounts for 44% of currency exchanges and NOT 88%. 3) It is not the Chinese yuan that is a currency but rather the Chinese Renminbi. The yuan is the unit of account. There is a subtle distinction between the two.

While I agree that the US abuses the power of the reserve currency, could you imagine how china would use that kind of power? A country could simply criticize china and they would sanction them. Just look what they did to Australia in 2020 when they asked to investigate the origins of Covid in china. They banned the imports of Australian coal LOL. This is one reason china will have a tough time getting the reserve currency status like they so dearly want. China is not nearly close to being trusted like the US on a global scale.

I can see why cyrptocurrency can be an issue. Especially bitcoin because no one technically owns bitcoin.

We’re there similar claims about the internet? If so look to see that China has found a way to control it. It may not be possible with bitcoin, but who is to really say in current time.

yea this discussion is nothing new. it is easy to say this, but there are so many factors work to keep the dollar in its place simply because it has been like this for so long and the stakeholders (all other major countries pretty much) would want to keep this status quo because it is in their best interest.

With the current dip in the crypto market, it's a wise business decision to start trading in forex. Let's face it. We don't know for certain when the crypto market would come back up. I just feel forex is a wiser choice.

I'd love to trade on forex but it's difficult. Over the last month, I've lost a lot of money on forex and that's not encouraging.

I don't think it's smart to write off crypto trading just yet. The market is down but it's going to come back up again I'm sure.
@evelynnrot21373 жыл бұрын
I'm not saying the market is not going to come back up; but right now, investing money in a failing market is unwise. A lot of downsides on the off chance that the market rises enough to make profit.

The stepping away from the dollar will not only hurt the US trading system, but its geopolitical power and influence.
@mullerstephan5 жыл бұрын
The thing is that the more the U.S. abuses this power, the more countries will look for alternatives and the weaker the dollar will become. Russia and China are already trading in their currencies. Iran and China too, Iran and Russia, etc. You can't dictate the world your terms without having other nations eventually rebelling. And it will only increase as other countries are getting more powerful and make their own, independent financial decisions.

It will be interesting to see how global commerce changes in the future with currencies like Libra becoming viable. I don’t see the dollar going anywhere any time soon, but alternative currencies, when backed by large corporations like Facebook, could have a very large economic impact.

At 4:00, how are other countries chipping away at the power of the dollar?
@georgedoolittle75744 жыл бұрын
Because debt dominates all economies all debt must be repaid in "a currency." That currency is the US Dollar. It's that simple. The USA is NOT a trading empire. Never has been. Never will be. The entire World's food and energy output resides inside North America to include Mexico, the Caribbean, Northern South America and the Panamanian Isthmus. All of that is priced in US Dollars. As is the logistics to move that food and energy product inside the USA. Barely any of this product ever leaves the USA amazingly enough though it certainly moves around a lot inside the USA! Like nowhere on Earth and in Human History! The US Dollar is a God with no master or peer through all time Period. THE PURPOSE OF THE GOLD STANDARD WAS ALWAYS TO GET PHYSICAL US CASH DOLLARS. But of course the Banks got zee gold too..
