Personally speaking, I don't recall a time when I played in the snow. Yes I did play in the rain and I liked it, but the snow is just too much for me, because I doubt that I will manage to maintain the minimal critical level of body warmth to perform. Speaking of which, are there any products that we can use as goalkeepers to warm ourselves in extremely cold weathers, like topical ointments for example? I'm also very grateful that you mentioned metal studded boots for rainy game days, because I'll make sure to get myself a pair when I go shopping next time! Thanks for the video and for having Mark Howard in it, Conor!

Thank you mate! I’m not sure about ointments - I tend to focus on layers, good quality gloves, and moving all the time!!

Got a funny story from about 2 years ago. Me and my team were playing a game, it was at the end of the spring, probably. For that game, I would start on the bench, but get subbed on for the other keeper at half time. The entire first half it was boiling hot, you could barely breathe because of the ridiculous heat. We were reaching half time and we could see the darkest of clouds up in the sky, we thought a thunderstorm was on its way. The referee blew for half time and it was time for me to get warmed up. The gaffer didn't want to use the changing rooms for some reason I don't remember, instead we did it on the bench, it had a bit of cover for the GREATEST AMOUNT OF RAIN I HAD EVER SEEN DURING A GAME. It was time for me to pull the other keeper aside to help me warm up. He initially didn't want to leave the cover because of the rain, but I was like "Stop whining and help me warm up, you can be on the bench afterwards for as long as you want!" After all, I had to be ready to play! I get subbed on at half time, we switch goals, the rain kept going for the first 5 minutes from the second half. Then, the sky cleared up completely, not a single trace of a cloud could be seen at it got as hot as it had been the entire first half. As the sky cleared up, the entire moisture of the astroturf went up in the air because of the heat, looking like a massive fog that was still not too bad for the game to be stopped temporarily. The worst part of it all was that I had just bought myself a new pair of Rinat's and all the grip they would have had, was completely gone in that game, it felt like I had rags on my hands! That weather led me to conceding a sloppy goal (misjudged the bounce of a ball because of the pitch being so wet) and we lost the game 3-2. By far the worst weather I have ever played on.

hey connor, hope you'll reply. I lived in belgium for 5 years and there I wa playing at quite a high level, (anderlecht under 16s) yet I moved back to my country of origin (Italy) and here they do not recognise that I played abroud, for them I only played up until under 9s as they only value players grown in italy I m now 17 and have been looking to play for almost a year no luck though) this has cause me to give up and let go of my phisical health? yet I want to get back on track and start playing again (i am a goalkeeper) do you have any tips? Like also what should I do in the gym thta is specific to the position, and how should I, through playing football, lose that chubby fat that I gained while not playing?

Hi Luca - it's always a tough situation when you are without a team, but don't let it stop you, continue to push through. Try and find a team at any level you can, start training and playing again to get that routine going. Your performances will enable you to step up the pyramid. I have a few gym videos on this channel that can help you, and also a full gym training programme on my website that is specifically designed for goalkeepers!

Does the Kaliaaer Aquavber spray add grip to gloves in dry conditions as well? And will it harm the latex of the glove at all?

No, only in the wet! And it doesn't harm the glove
