During her senior year of high school, Lindsay Pepin Ophus was thriving-she had good grades, big dreams for her future, and a cute boyfriend. But one day, she found out she was pregnant, and she felt her life spiraling out of control.
Meanwhile, her mom Scarlet wrestled with guilt and shock, distraught that her daughter’s Christian upbringing hadn’t been “enough.”
When Lindsay’s aunt, Bethany, stepped in and offered to adopt Lindsay’s baby, the family faced conflict, stress, excitement, and hope.
In this two-day Focus on the Family broadcast, these three ladies bring hope to teen moms, and anyone in a situation they desperately need God to redeem.
Give now to help save a child’s life through Option Ultrasound and through efforts like ALIVE 2020! We'll say thanks by sending you a copy of the Pepin's book, Joy Will Come: bit.ly/39tqPF1

There are so many couples who are unable to have children of their own and desperately want to adopt a baby into their family. The bravery this young women showed by placing her child for adoption is amazing. I wish more young women could be courageous like her and seek God will to have them bless a young couple longing to start a family through adoption! God bless her!

Sad. No ones upbringing could prevent this. We don’t chaperone or protect our kids. We let them date too early and it’s so natural to feel those desire. The desires are good and in the plan but we set ourselves up for failure with early age dating. We don’t have dating as a part of family life. We send them out to figure it out on their own. Kids and teens don’t need one on one time with the opposite gender. Group activity and family life has been lost on us.

I could have never adopted I would have raised the child my sister got pregnant at 16 and kept the baby shes now 19 with an almost 3 year old we love that baby so much and cannot imagine life without her! Not judging-- God is sovereign, and that baby is with the family she was destined to. I just think too often we are scared to take care of “widows and orphans” and pass them on to someone else. Keeping and raising the child is also an option, a real option. Abortion or adoption aren’t the only 2 solutions

God turned this "mistake" into a huge blessing for the couple that adopted her baby! His will is perfect!

Yes . . I agree with the other comments. I can't wrap my head around this story!! Totally no mention of the child's father and I don't understand how she didn't keep the baby!! She was 18 years old and comes from a close family. She could've got help with raising the child.

I believe your story would make an excellent film that could touch multitudes. Pray about this.

Two highly hormonal teens of the opposite sex alone together is a total recipe for disaster. Accountability with young people is so very important. Culture is wrought with pitfalls now that just 20 years ago did not exist. We teach our kids God's truth or they will believe the world's lies.

First and foremost, some women do not find happiness in motherhood. It doesn’t come naturally to all. Second of all, to assume she, at 18 years old, could only be happy by keeping this baby is absurd. What about her family? Her mom raising her grandchild is the only god honoring way to end this story? Ugh. God surprises everyone with happy endings. His plan is not for our understanding.

I didn't understand that either, the parents can help with raising the baby and the boyfriend side too. At almost 19 you are more than capable of raising a baby, if you old enough to lay down with someone you old enough to take care of it.

So in your mind, a young and totally unprepared 18 year old couple raising the baby to accept the consequences of their actions is more appropriate than blessing another couple, who have the resources and preparedness and desire a child. Absolutely absurd.

I encourage you to open you eyes and the fact that God is bigger than any of us and does amazing things daily. As an adoptive dad, this young lady is a hero. God can take our troubles and do amazing things with them IF we are open to His will/plan and not just our small world views.
