To 'totally recommend' something that's still buggy with hope the devs will fix it and pretending game devs have resources to integrate yet another haptic vest into their standalone game... appears quite referral focused...
@juancarlosgonzalez895010 күн бұрын
We desperately need a DirectH or OpenHL for VR haptics to really take off! Like what DIrectX and OpenGL did for graphics. That game developers can program to the universal standard library and it worked on any underlying video card, regardless of its physical architecture. Hopefully, it would be a unified standard that both Meta and SteamVR would develop together with the haptic companies.

@@Bluth53 thanks for watching and commenting! :) And yes, I can totally recommend the vest for everyone who wants haptic feedback in the supported games that I showed. I am not talking about Quest games, I also do not think a lot will be supported. But for the supported PCVR games at that price...absolutely recommended. Btw, read the description, I do not make a cent with those links. They are not affiliate links. But even if they were, I would never recommend anything that I do not think is good.

I would instantly buy this if they added base frequency response feature just for music in general, So if in the future games don’t get added anymore I can still always enjoy the vest, please let them know MRTV!

What I have learned about VR the hard way is that you should not buy from companies you don't trust. I mean even with the HP Reverb G2, support ended due to Microsoft pulling the plug for their proprietary software. Small companies should focus on working together and creating an open standard. For haptic vests to be viable there needs to be universal open source API that every haptic vest can use and interpret. That way it will be much easier for game devs to target this kind of hardware. Right now I don't have confidence in products like these for the long run.

Bhaptics x16 has worked great for me for the last 3 years if you’re looking for haptic vest aha
@SuperDre748 күн бұрын
It should be incorporated into OpenXR. So companies like this should request support in the specs (and of course suggest an API). I don't see small companies like truegear trying to team up woth bhaptics to put a universal API together. Personally as a dev of a new device like this, I would just try to create a DLL replacement for an already existing device, so your user can just replace the one which already had support.

Well! I have the bhaptic arm and vest. But the problem is and will be to have devs to integrate the system.my favorite games still dont have support and all aaa vr games on quest 3 latly dont even have haptics as native. So save the money before devs gets onboard

Thank you for this video on another haptics vest. Price sounds pretty good. I forget what the other vest pricings are. Also, not sure how this vest compares to the number of games it works with and if it can also react to music, etc. like the other vest does. As time goes on these products will get better and maybe cheaper. Thanks for the video. Take care.

The problem is the lack of native support by games. These technologies need to become standard before they have sufficient support to be worthwhile
@mixedrealityTV9 күн бұрын
@@android01978 for the PCVR games it's not a problem, they can mod that in.
@android019789 күн бұрын
@ imo Carmack had it right about the importance of removing the barriers of entry. The focus on this is why the quest was successful. You can just put it on and load a game. With haptics, having to check if the game supports it and download a patch so it’ll work becomes annoying so they will remain niche.

I have a haptic vest since several years back. Never used it, though. In fact, I have so many things that are left unopened that I'm ashamed. When it comes to VR that includes that bHaptic vest, a tracker, Cybershoes, Reverb G2, and a motion simulator (YawVR). As for software, I preordered Half-Life: Alyx but never installed it. I'm waiting for the right headset (OLED, wireless, and not much heavier than Quest).

That's sick - not in the "awesome" sense. What really kills me is that you have the Cybershoes with the return windows closed. I bought them as well, but I managed to return them. Somehow they let me keep the chair which is awesome for VR gaming. I rarely use my Bhaptic Vest, but I actually used it today for the first time in a long time. It was pretty awesome still. The game support is really lacking and almost no new games are added - and I would not recommend the product, due to this reason. So recommending a new Chinese product with no support at all would seem ridiculous. In the same vein - don't EVER buy the provolver - it is awesome, but the support is almost non-existent.
@duked199 күн бұрын
@Evilkingus I've ordered Yaw 3. Wonder if I'll ever use it. =) You returned your Cybershoes? They were that bad? As for lack of bHaptic game support, MRTV said the Chinese company would keep adding support every week. If they deliver on that, that would be pretty good. Thanks for the ProVolver advice.
@lacedchemist12956 күн бұрын
Lol, yeah I never used my cyber shoes either unfortunately. Wasn't able to return them but at least I got some use out of the chair and carpet. Also got it as a gift and open box sale so I think it was not a waste of money. However the bhaptics vest, I still can't believe I paid $500 for that thing 😅 should be like $100 max imo, and I probably still wouldn't recommend it @@Evilkingus
