Pimax need to just refund everyone and throw the Super project in the recycle bin. Put out a statement and just admit they got it all wrong, the tech is not ready, clearly needs more R&D. In the meantime focus on building consistency with quality control and good reputation in the market by selling the Crystal Light. Perhaps do a slight refresh on the Crystal Light headset - brighter display, smaller form factor maybe. All these other companies selling their big bullshit headsets aren't exactly going to do well anyway so there should be no FOMO for the Pimax team for a long time.

I just sold my g2 after 4 years of use with simracing, it was truly the best vr on the market too bad Microsoft killed it. Now I'm looking for the new VR headset but I'm in trouble, I don't know how to choose. I play a lot of simracing but I also play other things in vr and I always hope for new games. In short, I don't know whether to take quest 3 (I don't like meta), or pimax crystal

The main thing holding me back from getting any of the gloves on the market right now is that every single one needs external controllers or trackers attached to be tracked by steamVR. Surely it's not impossible to skip this extra step and have them be tracked natively?

I can't figure out how everyone is praising these. Got mine yesterday. Can't download app doesn't exist. Vision is cross eyed no matter how much I adjust the dials. Doesn't tell you how to change the nose pieces

Appreciate your takes. One thing that might at least partly explain the distortions you saw. If I'm not mistaken, the Super now includes eye relief adjustment. Is it possible you had your eyes the wrong distance from the lenses resulting in the warp profile not properly compensating for the aspheric lenses? At any rate, I can't really say I'm regretting not pre-ordering the Super. Pimax has been having too many quality control problems recently and I don't care for their subscription model. Hopefully Shiftall has better luck than Pimax in mass producing their MeganeX 8K. We'll see.

@SETHalpine in the video, they say no DP. Unless it's very inexpensive, it will be no go for gaming. Which I imagine isn't their main target anyways.

@@L_Emir_de_Passy Even if DP2.1 finally arrives at Nvidia CG, DP2.1 cables longer than 3m and video controllers for very high resolutions are very rare and expensive... the socket that manufacturers like is USB-C which will go up to 80Gbps, we see it dethroning HDMI on TVs, even Apple is forced to use USB-C, which already has a very good bandwidth. Pimax will use the Display Port 1.4 protocol with higher compression than the original standard DSC, with at least on one side of the cable a USB type C socket (DP Alt mod) on the Super. And probably a full USB-C cable for streaming on the Dream (just like Samsung probably on its standalone headset)

No display port. Can game with it/has controllers and they are looking at implementing foveated streaming to make gaming over USBC or wifi more seamless. However primary role is media consumption (horizontal FOV is not greatest for gaming)

They don't have to change UI, this is industry standard and it needs to be followed to succeed, you can change other things but currently what Vision Pro having is the best, it's like saying car makers who putting a tablet in the middle is Tesla copy, but reality that's the best way to do it currently for user experience. So never change strengths but enhance it Edit: They might add Google XR later to it for international market, so what they have now is sort of temporary if true.

guys, what is a headset to buy in 2025? I wanted to upgrade my Quest3 to Pimax Crystal light, but it turned out that the headset was so bad that I didn't even send it back so that someone else could get it. The most important thing for me is that when I put the headset on, the image is sharp from edge to edge like the Quest 3, and I don't have to constantly adjust it to look for the sweetspot.

The headset to buy is the one will release with Google XR, so just wait and see what comes up, Play For Dream MR and Samsung are one of first, the former I heard getting Google XR support for international level.

You must have gotten a bad one, I’ve owned the OG and Light and both were about 95% as good edge to edge clarity as my Quest 3 and that is down to pancake lenses vs aspherical lenses in the crystal.

@@damiengvideos4337 There aren't a lot of people who would claim that edge to edge clarity on Crystal is 95% of Quest 3. I've owned two, and edge to edge clarity was much better on the Quest 3. Crystal is much sharper than Quest 3 only in the center. Around the edges it gets substantial chromatic aberration. And all of that is if you're lucky enough to get good lenses from Pimax in the first place.
