Would you buy the airpump to remove the suctioning of the printing?

How's the resin smell ?? Is it horrible??
@BuildyBryce8 ай бұрын
It doesn't smell nice while printing, but it's not nearly as horrible as some other cheaper resin printers I've used. With good ventilation, I didn't have an issue being in the same room as it during a 5 hour print, but I do try to avoid it if possible. Hope this helps!

$60 bottle for 1000g kills it for me, the printer alone is $1400 plus tax and shipping.

@j00bs - Yes-huh... You just lose the ease of control and reliability... So... that 80% of time you spend on clean-up with other resins? How much is that worth?... As a newbie, I have to decide whether my time or my money are worth the cost expense or savings? If I were printing for sale? Then time savings is probably more important, but as a hobbyist it's going to be my money and not this particular printer (though for people with disposable income they'll get this one).

I know it all depends on the size of a print but how many prints do you think you can get out of one bottle given the cost?

What would happen if you just refilled the container with a 3rd party resin?
@Rebikbok10 ай бұрын
man, resin printing looks so messy! I appreciate the extra effort HeyGears has put into making the process more streamlined
@notthistime92906 ай бұрын
Why bother with this when you can get 8k or 12k printer for $300 or $400. And the resin is usually on sale for $20 a bottle.
@theVariedLife8 ай бұрын
Awesome machine and the auto supports will only get better over time. I would almost consider buying but... The big elephant in the room is not being able to use third party resins. Their resin cost ranges from $65 to $99 a liter. Whereas third party resins average about $20-25. I understand they want to keep their ball in their sandbox but at least through a bone and open up the ability to add third party resins and resin settings. Hopefully they will open up but lots of people have said not being able to use third party resins is the deal killer. I know it is for me. Hell, if they allowed third party resin and tweak settings I would buy it in a second. Hopefully HeyGears gets the hint.

is this a review or advertizing?

Or i can get a printer that is actually large AND affordable then use a couple dollars in stuff from the dollar store to render the messy argument moot. Even for a small business i couldnt justify this, a cheap desktop sandblasting box or two and some cheap uv LEDs have more bulk capacity anyway.

holy moly 150$ for each bottle of plastic you buy after that, @louisrossman has some choice words for this printer

That’s Australian dollars which includes VAT. That resin is $89 US. Still not cheap, but you’re paying for convenience.
