I really wish the armor penetration was much higher, and had punch-through so you could kill the driver of the Scout Striders in one shot.

It’s already able to merc in almost every other robot with 1-2 shots letting it do that to striders as well would just get it added to the balance pass even sooner. The weapon is a beast and no charge time or backpack required.

The AMR can kill the driver of the walkers (assuming they’re facing you) in two very specific shots (which are insanely hard to land): 1.) Over the top lip of the faceplate - the driver’s head pokes up slightly. 2.) Through the vision slit in the faceplate. Both of these are extremely precise shots, which are very unreliable to hit at significant distance. Alternatively, 3 shots to the faceplate will usually break up the plate enough that the over-the-top shot is easier. The hip-to-leg joint or cab-to-hip joint are also weak points and can break the walker in two hits, though the driver will usually survive in those instances.

@@IRMentat you know what is just as good? the scorcher and it is not even a call in weapon. you can take down shield devastators with it and striders within a few shots from the front. anti material rifle shows no real benefits not even able to crack any armored units in the game and you have to deal with sluggish aim with massive recoil. so just bring scorcher and a machine gun you will be able to take on a much broader array of units. you wont take out chargers or tanks but their are lots of other options.

I play with someone who always brings the AM rifle. From my observations, it's the best against robots on big open maps. A lot of people say "Just bring railgun" but the AM rifle's scope and magazine allows it to kill a lot of stuff a lot faster at much further range than the railgun, which in the niche situation where you've got a bunch of hulks all coming at you from a good distance away can deal with them all in one magazine before the rail guy has the chance to load another round. Obviously, like a lot of weapons, you should probably bring it when you think you can set up that kind of situation, not to general purpose missions. It can deal with chargers... kinda. It destroys the squishy bug butt very fast, and at that point you can just run away and let the charger bleed out. Not the optimal counter, but if you end up stuck with an AM rifle on a bug planet somehow, it's your best bet.

My biggest gripe with am rifle is the reticle, I wish it wasn't so bulky. Far away shots can be missed simply because the open space is to open

@@OhDough Totally agreed. It's an issue with pretty much all the scopes in the game... and a lot of scopes in video games honestly. They're all designed to look cool and hi-tech but it just ends up being bright lights blocking your view.

I find the scope to be mostly irrelevant. Maybe 5% of the time the scope will help me land a shot I couldn't with the Railgun, Almost any shot I can hit with the AMR I can hit with the Railgun. as for killing things faster I'm not so sure about it might be a little faster in some scenarios but if so it's not by much. The reload on the Railgun is so insanely fast that the 1 shot per reload doesn't even really matter and since the AMR kicks so insanely much you have to compensate so much to make sure you land those rapid shots to maybe kill things faster. Not to mention with the Railgun you can easily dispatch things if they get too close. If anything though I'd compare the AMR to the plasma gun as they are actually pretty similar. Number of shots to kill a Hulk is a littler different but both 2-3 shot walkers, 1 shots smaller bots, I believe 2 shot head shot on the Devastators but it fires at a decent rate, with less kick and even though it has a read dot sight instead of a scope it's easier to hit shots ar further distances with because the dot is so clean compared to the reticle on the scope and this is a primary compared to a support weapon. Plus the Plasma gun is explosive which means it even deals with chargers easily. Overall I do think the AMR is great but I think it needs 2 changes for it to be really good and justify taking over the Railgun or even the Plasma gun and just different support weapon. The reticle on the scope needs to change because it's kind of horrible and to make it so the ANTI MATERIAL part of Anti Material Rifle actually has some use and allow it to damage charger armor even if it takes like 5 shots or something.

AM rifle is good when you aim for weak points, it basically has the Machine Gun's versatility with higher range + accuracy. My biggest problem with it is that its' ammo recovery is abysmal.

@@rude6371the ammo recovery is bad for no good reason. The damn rail gun recovers most of its 20 rounds on one resupply box, the auto cannon recovers half of its pack (which is something like 20 rounds), both MGs recover all their mags (granted they for no reason have a tiny reserve), and the GL recovers both reserve belts (again, no reason for such tiny reserve). If the AMR got back most of its reserve and had medium pen (which would let it at least deal damage to chargers and titans) OR broke armor it fails the pen I would consider taking it over the rail gun or auto cannon but as it stands both are far more versatile options that are easier to keep fed (auto cannon needs to be able to damage titans though, no reason to bring it on a titan kill mission)

The game in general needs to let heavy armor eventually be broken with with repeated hits from the antimaterial rifle, machine gun, heavy machine gun emplacement, autocannon. It needs to let medium armor be destroyed with repeated hits with the liberator explosive without outright making it medium armor penetrating.

It has light vehicle armor pen which is higher than medium pen. Things like the RG have Vehicle armor pen which is even higher than light vehicle. There’s several armor pen traits that flows on a number scale that we can’t see in game. (Unless it’s grenades) but essentially, light armor pen the weakest, medium armor pen, light vehicle armor, vehicle armor is how it goes. Both the AG and Anti Mat have light vehicle, my hypothesis is that it can penetrate the back of the legs on chargers like the AG can. Still have to test it but if it can that would be how to strip the armor on chargers.

Or because lots of the community only fight the bugs for 80% of their games, I've seen so many players at diff 5 to 6 struggling against robots cause they use breaker and just charging through without taking cover

@@blastmole299 Yeah, I think too many people play just bugs because it's closer to the fun of like "COD Zombies" and don't think much about fighting bots because it requires more strategy and precision or something. I like both, but starting out I played against Terminids and once I unlocked enough stratagems, I play against Automatons more

THANK YOU for talking good about my sniper. Tips: Leave the sniper on 50m range for the scope. Most of your engagements ARE within 40-60 meters against bots. However, if you have a team that can rush bases, then use the 100m scope and sit back. You need the armor that reduces recoil by 30% crouched or prone. If you are supporting from long range, prone. Running all over the place? Crouch and aim low, the recoil will drag the round up (literally like 5% lower down than you normally would aim) BUGS, it does not do jack against titans. Chargers are a different story. Hit them behind their armored legs right at the knees. It can start to peel the leg of. 2-3 shots (depends if it is a normal or behemoth) should do it. But that is not where the sniper shines. Use the sniper to conserve your primary for bigger targets or when swarmed. Aim for the head, ESPECIALLY on hive guard and brood commanders. The headless commander may still walk and attack but a round to the leg or your primary put in can bring it down. If you have ever played Halo 3 or Reach, treat the sniper like that. Edit: Tanks matter about angle of fire heavily for the vent. Try to line up STRAIGHT on the vent's back. That will reduce the shots to kill down to a more manageable 5 (assuming the tank hasn't received ANY prior damage)

The CE-74 breaker is a light armor that reduces sway and increases grenade count by two. As far as I know its the only light armor that has the reduced sway effect (most are heavy) so if you plan on using the AMR, snipe that from the store when its available.

Problem with bugs is as the video said, it can headshot kill stuff your primary or even your laser drone can already reliably kill.

The anti- material rifle is actually a one-tap for any bug smaller than a charger. But you have to hit the head and aim a little bit lower than you think on most of them. Especially the spewers. It will pop brood commander's heads in one go and the hive guardians won't look like they're going down right away, but just give it like, half a second and and they'll just fall over.

I run AM rifle with Jump pack on Robots. Grenade Launcher with Jump pack on Bugs. Always try to get the high ground, love sniping or blowing stuff up from a big rock.

I completely agree. Instead of shield taking one hit, you use jump pack to quickly disengage and lose enemies, getting a high ground, hiding on a roof at extraction point. Basically it's a must have kit for solo play.

I think the biggest issue with the AMR is the same as with the machine gun - they're both weapons that want you to be holding your ground, being stationary and covering an area. In a game when you need to be moving constantly and where enemies literally spawn in behind you, so you're guaranteed to get flanked.

I have about 90 hours of sniper gameplay and most of what you said is just wrong, you can be on the move, the game isn't about moving, and stuff never spawn behind you if your not deaf.

@@angerskarin9222 Well, that's not been my experience. I'm doing fine with the AMR when I'm "in control" and taking out a patrol or static spawn, but as soon as shit hits the fan and bug breaches vomit 40 000 hunters at me, I'm in trouble.

I feel like the machine gun and AMR shine when in a team. The MGs are the best, long range option for culling bug swarms, while the AMR does well against bots when other divers are drawing agro. I do feel like more should be done to make the AMR more viable solo though, maybe by having it take longer for enemies to pinpoint where snipery guns like the AMR and marksman are being shot from. Maybe even accuracy modifiers for when you’re in brush.

I use it with the first scout armor for stealth and movement. Aggro doesnt mean the enemies have spotted you, automatons will randomly fire in your general direction until theyve spotted you, which at prone with stealth armor is about 15m. If you keep cool and dont miss your shots, it wipes groups easy, especially if youre just rounding them up to wipe them with an eagle or orbital. Railgun is better for the layman that walks in the front door of every encounter without thinking.

I love using this gun with the jump pack against bugs on open maps. My main targets are brood queens, hive guard, and the fat bial spewers with armoured heads. It punches through their head armour for quick kills. It's basically a long-range railgun with less penetration.

You can actually 3 shot a charger after it charges. You shoot the hind legs really fast and it goes down. The timing and shot placement is very tight, but doable with practice.

Nah, it's the back of the leg. You'll hear the Charger grunt and maybe even see some armor chip and be able to shoot it from the front of the leg after chipping the armor if you don't finish it with those few shots. @@roguerex292

@@roguerex292 no, joint takes barely any damage. You have to shoot the leg. The downside of this strategy is that sometime bullets bounce off armor plate. Also, when you hit the sweet spot, AMR and AC also shred charger's armor, making it vulnerable to medium pen guns like AC and AMR (haven't tester it with JAR-5 and whatever med pen rifle that no one uses because it sucks). You'll see multiple orange and green holes on the respective limb's armor once it's shredded. And once you shred limb's armor, you can deal damage by shooting it from any side. There's a lot of vidoes on how to deal with chargers using AC, just watch them for a reference. AMR works the same way, it just needs extra shot.

I definitely agree with the reticle, it kinda makes the 50m zoom option useless as even targets up close gets covered by it. Another thing I dislike with this rifle is that IDK if its just me but the shot seems to hit slightly above and to the left of the centre reticle as I find myself bouncing tons of shots on Hulks if I aim on the visor while I hit most of the shots by compensating for this and aiming a little lower and to the right.... I am half convinced that perhaps its a FOV issue? But yeah its definitely a anti-automaton weapon and I usually pick it over the railgun. I bring this and as always a ammo backpack. It has enough "ammo economy" that spending a few shots to pick off weaker bots is very viable and can make a big difference when you pop those little guys with their rocket launcher, unlike the bugs 6 dead bots is usually a large chunk of their forces and its afaik only these small guys that call for backup. The mediums/Hulks can wait on your reload. To deal with tanks and turrets I simply bring the 110 missile barrage, it kills either of these seemingly 100% of the time and hopefully the rest of the team has things that can deal with those as well without you having to sneak around to their side/backs to dump shots into them.

Learned if you fire 1-2 shots from BEHIND a charger's front 2 legs, it shows the indication of them being "broken". Not revealed fully, but it shows that "slightly broken" effect and does kill them within 3-4 shots if you focus the same leg. Explosive damage is still effective on their "weak spot" but unfortunately... that's too niche coupled with the fact you mentioned with the reticule being too bulky and the amount of sway. Can open up those grenade-able doors though like the slugger can!

Idk, I can kill chargers pretty consistently with AMR. But it takes 1-2 extra shots compared to AC and its ammo efficiency is just bad. I wouldn't say it's niche, it pretty much effective against averything but bile titan and tanks, but it's just a worse version of AC: AMR deals less damage, has less total ammo, and gets significantly less ammo per box.

@@Almoniification But the AR needs a backpack to stay consistent. The problem is people compare each weapon for what they're capable of doing rather than understanding each weapon is a tool for a specific function. You can snipe hulks in the face with 2 shots from over 400m away with good accuracy, 1 shot most medium enemies with headshots and may not even alert what's nearby. You couple this with the jump pack and you can snipe spore spewers from distances without having to invite those heavies. The main difference is really the precision and mobility options since you won't need a pack to carry with it but it does require accuracy for payoff. Is the AR better? Probably for some people and some missions, but not for everyone and all missions. They're both viable and good in their own rights as tools for managed democracy. o7

@@venanreviews AC can do all those things, has more ammo, better ammo pickup rate, can one-tap striders, can kill chargers faster, can destroy tanks and turrets in 2-3 shots. AMR needs supply backpack to be somewhat on par with AC, and that means one less stratagem slot. At this point you just theorycrafting. Stop it.

Seeing you two shot a hulk makes me want to run this thing again. It was one of the first support weapons i unlocked and i remember having a lot of fun as a sniper.

Thing is, you can one shot Hive Guards if you get the head. Might not seem much but it’s fantastic if you don’t have the armor penn primaries and other special guns

Loved the AM Rifle until I got the autocannon which does everything the rifle does but works on more targets. It works wonders against the bots especially and used it pretty much exclusively up to about difficulty 6 I think. The satisfaction of taking out pretty much everything in one head shot outside of their ability to do anything to you is wonderous. I just wish that it wasn't crap against the bugs, though I think they work decently against chargers if used right, though that's just hearsay.

I've managed to kill a couple of chargers with the AMR by third person aiming and unloading into their squishy bits, though I had help so I may not have done any damage, hard to tell in a game with no controlled environment testing

@@OhDoughYou can shoot the back of the leg to two-tap a charger with the autocannon apparently. I personally haven't had any reliable success on that front but I think it's because I've mostly only fought automatons and still struggling against bugs in general. Against bile titans, yea. I've given up even using the autocannon against them unless if even running isn't a viable option. Even then, it's like 3+ mag dumps or something.

@@FGMagala that's most likely because of the whole animation-related (apparently) leg vulnerability bug with the chargers, where there's a chance of their legs being completely vulnerable to damage, by that point any weapon can kill chargers easily (albeit inconsistently). They can destroy chargers easily in the butt though. I will say this, at least AM rifle lets you carry another backpack strategem

@@sivel7493It would be interesting to see how things work out once the bugs are dealt with. On the other hand, i don't find losing the backpack slot to be much of a detriment. Taking a separate backpack still takes a strategem slot, and I'd personally prefer to get a 3rd air/orbital strike than take a shield. Doubly so on missions with reduced strategems. That that's just me and I understand that others prefer a proper backpack over an offensive strategem.

I love running this gun versus the bots. If you're up for a random person on the internet's suggestion. Try running it with the jump-pack and a deployable shield generator vs the bots. I've found the ability to get to high ground and disengage fast is invaluable to the sniper, plus the jump pack lets you better dodge and out maneuver turrets and tanks to get to the back side. The shield allows you to either stand still and take out a bunch of big guys before the little guys get to you or when you're pinned down you can drop a bubble (90 sec cooldown), hit a few shots on the major threats, and jump pack away when it lands just to give me the cover needed to evac from a bad situation. I also will proactively call in a shield and send in my first shots on an outpost as it comes down to cover me from the suppressive return fire they love to do. I run the slugger with this kit because it's stagger effect and potential 1 shots is too useful vs these guys. I've also found a weird weak spot on the front of the walkers that allow for one shots, but I've only noticed it last night so I'll give you the theory of where I think the shot is... When viewing a walker from the front, follow the armor plate down to the bottom of the machine. You'll notice a transition line from where the armor plates stop and the machine bits begin. If you hit dead center just below the armor plate the round seems to penetrate the machine and ricochet up into the pilot, but if you aim too low it doesn't seem to bounce up... That's my theory at least, for all I know it could be hitting a squishy engine or something else.

Try shooting the back of the legs on the chargers. The armor is there is weaker. Should strip enough armor to be able to damage the front of the legs like with the Auto cannon. Auto canon will even drop a charger with 2-3 hits on the back of the back leg. Reckon the anti-material could probably do it too since they have the same armor pen trait.

My favorite weapon in the game so far. Fun little quirk with it vs. chargers: you can kill one in one mag if you curve around it, crouch, and unload close to point blank on its back. It's pretty good for killing everything, though I haven't tried vs bile titans enough. Think it oneshots saw bots to head, two shots all else in robots (except tank) afaik. Shoot a hulk's eye slit twice. It oneshots any bug to the head for most and mouth/eye for bile spitters not sure which. I haven't tested on titans enough.

Have you tried seeing how many shots with the AMW it takes to destroy the chargers rear weakspot? Also they have a weakspot on the back of the legs, the hind legs being softer

I always run it on automaton missions,a lot of ammo,range,zoom and the ability to neutralize many clankers rapidly.Also i found out that if you shoot those Star Wars fighters between the legs,they break and drop the pilot for and easy kill with just one bulet

The Autocanon has more ammo, the backpack is a non-issue since the AM rifle also forces you to take a backpack for either ammo or shield, but you need the shield because you have to aim way longer, while the autocanon can oneshot armored enemies, or just shoot 3 rounds quickly.

The AM rifle has better accuracy at range, faster reloads that don't require you to be stationary, and flexibility in not requiring an ammo backpack to function. The weapon's range is its greatest strength, so the AM Rifle would do best on a planet that you know has clear sightlines. My personal suggestion would be to use it on an automaton mission with multiple spread-out sub-objectives like Fuel and ICBM; an AM Rifle with proper elevation could provide cover fire from just about anywhere - particularly useful for doing solo objectives while still being able to support teammates at long range.

Way better handling, backpack is optional, ammo is good enough for 90% of use cases due to ground ammo, reloading can be done on the run, the scope means you can merc things across the map, it’s accessible from level 1, it’s available as a ground drop in-mission, it’s WAY easier to spot and target dangerous enemies at any range, bring non-explosive means you can’t “suicide” with the weapon if someone walks in front of you, weak spots go bye bye and it’s also near hitscan. The AC is damned nice but the AM is a perfectly viable alternative for places you get to see further than flame thrower range.

@@IRMentat Can't really agree much on the "it's level 1". Yeah, early game that sort of stuff matters, but if you're playing for the long run, that will become meaningless after 20 hours of gameplay.

Picked up the game this weekend. This game has been my sword and shield and was a priority purchase before taking on the bots, and it's served me very well going forward. I still need to get better with it, but I feel a surge of pride every time I drop a rounds into a Devastator or Hulk weak spot.

Against chargers, if u aim at the leg joint instead fo the armor, u can 3 or 4 shot. against tanks/turrets it doesnt have the pen to damage them from anywhere, u have to shoot the vents

8 shots to the vent kill a turret tower, 8 shots to the vent to kill a tank, two to the eye to kill a hulk, 3 to the shield or two to the leg joint for a walker, at least 6 shots to the face to kill a charger

With the chargers just walk around them they do a small charge and unload on the HUGE EXPOSED BACK, about 7-8 shots at hard, again the usual shoot the leg wont work. This strategy seems consistent from the amount i played. BTW you don't necessarily need to aim down you can shoot fairly accurate since it will always be in the middle of the screen so, put the reticule from your primary/secondary on the enemy, swap and click, BOOM direct hit (obviously works on bigger targets compared to a needle sized target, but at that point aim down).

For a weapon with no pack pack that you can use really early it’s fighting against things like the auto canon and railgun yet with the scope it’s a pretty solid runner throughout. It’s armour-pen versus ADS time versus spawner-killing in terms of what I finally pick but all 3 have their use cases which is sone thing I appreciate. If only I could find a non-breaker shotgun I liked or had more secondaries because the revolver seems to suck when the smg pistol has full auto, more damage per magazine, competitive accuracy, faster reloads, same armour pen and doesn’t need a super creed battle pass to access.

The main benefits of the P-4 Senator are that it can damage medium armor despite only listing light armor penetration (something to do with the overall velocity and bullet mass multipliers) and the round reload means you can fire again without a full reload. It is not a backup crowd control gun, but rather it is a backup medium armor gun.

I like it against bugs because I can one shot bile boys and make the head of a hive guard vulnerable. Great against brood commanders too, since they’re hard to miss. Maximizing the ranged advantage against bugs is never a bad idea. But given the gun’s limited effectiveness against chargers and titans, taking the AM rifle effectively makes your first priority to clean up the medium stuff so your more heavily armed friends can breathe.

2:35 It really sucks that not only the sniper, but BOTH marksman rifles have these terrible scifi scopes that cover the thing you're trying to aim at. Honestly, I think the only scope in the game that actually looks decent is the default liberty; a simple, clean crosshair is all I want. They even gave the precision variant of the liberty the crappy videogame sights. Feels like all the guns that reward precision the most have sights that disable my ability to be precise, while the shotguns get clean reflexes and the full auto gun gets the good scope.

My first support weapon buy was the GL loved it then moved on as no anti armour. Picked up the AM mostly via in game drops and found it could shrewd and pinpoint hit all the things I couldn’t touch with my primaries or GL at ranges that made the distance fog/rendering a meaningful consideration. I still want to love my GL but it’s use case just feels so tailored to lower difficulties or anti reinforcement support. There’s a LOT of easy to access swarm kill gear but not so much viable and re-usable anti heavy and it’s those “heavies” that tend to wipe groups out.

The GL can take out Devastators and Hive Guard/Commanders with 3-4 grenade hits. It’s not efficient against singular “medium” enemies like those, though since those usually come in packs, the GL can be useful to damage the lot quickly. Just remember to set the GL to semi; I’ve seen too many low-levels waste belts of 40mm by spraying the whole thing rather than deliberate aimed fire. GLs are fairly useless against heavies (Titans, Chargers, Hulks and tanks) though. Your teammates or call-ins are needed to cover that part. I would need to test if GLs can break Hulk arms/face, but those are specific shots and the GL isn’t exactly a precision weapon…

Great video demonstrating how much the rifle can do. Almost all google search only tell about using big cannon, and keep saying rifle is not effective against big enemy. You prove that it do help just shoot more than 1 😗👍

You can kill scout walkers in 1 shot. Just hit between the two leg joints where the armoured part is attached to the legs. As for chargers if you hit them in the back of the back leg or have really good aim and nail the head then you can kill them ok but it’s better for the spitters since 1 shot to the head and it’s done. As for titans if you manage to break the armour off with any sort of explosive you can mag dump and it should kill most the time but it’s def easier to just have a 500 bomb or a diff stratagem to just 1 shot the titan. So it does work on bugs but I just wish that it could handle chargers a lil better you know? A bit higher armour pen.

I have more fun sniping with either marksman rifle (preferably the second one), and use a support weapon to deal with heavies. Also, the autocannon sentry is a very fun lazy way to snipe with it's long range!

I tried it after this, ran it with some friends in a bot run tier 7, I'm finding that either it's the center cross or the rifle itself is shooting high, I'm not sure which is at fault but when I aimed the center of the circle on the center of the bot's eye it would always impact above my point of aim no matter the range.

Bugs don’t need the pinpoint accuracy it brings but it still has uses. But against robots the AM can delete the threats that can wipe groups (anything with a rocket or is 99% heavy armour).

I tried and I find really hard aiming down scope. I don't know if my settings are messed up or something. Also it seems like it shoot higher because of recoil (???) I don't know, it was so much frustrating that I would never touch it again

I'm starting to think that a lot of enemies in helldivers 2 have "hidden" weak spots you wouldn't expect from a standard shooter. In case of the terminids you have to imagine where it's brain actually is its head as they are really small.

It's a solid low-level support weapon. Got me through a lot of missions. Huge burst potential dumping the mag. Would never use it Challenging or higher, though. Can bring down tanks, Hulks, and Chargers, but requires too much ammunition, precision, and positioning.

Supposedly if you shoot the back of the chargers leg after you dodge charge and follow up a shot to the front of the same leg kills it gives you a two tap.

Late, but you can 1 shot the bot striders. Aim for the platform the rider sits on, possible from the front, easiest from the side.

I wish the projectile velocity was 3 times higher. Currently it is probably the slowest weapon projectile in the game (after the spear of course) For now this sniper rifle is better at close range than long range. Nerf the rate of fire by half , give another ammo per magazine and up the speed of the bullet to 300%.

people talking about the ammo capacity of the AM must be just mag dumping on every target they see. I use it to focus high value targets for maybe one or two clips then switch back to my primary and I literally never run out of ammo. It’s even fairly decent at hordes of bugs because the rounds penetrate. if you kite a group around a rock you can get 2-3 kills per shot by just aiming at the mass

I am a PS5 player , and I've experienced some bile titans taking way more shots than others as well. If you're theory is true, me being a PS5 player in every single party I play in, every single bile titan should be easier to kill. This is NOT the case. There's been several matches I've played, where I started the match myself, where the bile titans take more shots to kill. I was thinking it could be a crit stat, or more likely there's different health pools monsters can spawn with. I've heard people say ones from big holes are easier than others too, IDK, all I know is I've seen the inconsistency myself as a PS5 player that mostly starts my own matches

Pretty much every support weapon has some use for the robots big and small. Bugs on the other hand have less weapons that can effect both big and small bugs. At this rate bugs have a glaring issue sense you will in most cases need the railgun to do most things. I think the fact that less things are good against bugs is just enough said of the issue itself.

If they still have high hp but CAN take damage then like that works. Shutting options down completely is really not ideal for any creative or fun gameplay. People want to use certain weapons they dont have to be op just VIABLE.

@@humandude3219 there are plenty of other options. Not saying that Railgun//breaker/shield pack isnt king, most people play the "meta"". I personly enjoy MG/slug/supply for bugs and AMrifle/dmr/supply for the robots. Yes some weopons could use some love but majority of the time you can suppliment a weapons shorts with support weapons and strats, which i feel is the intention. Admittedly 9's on the bots are rough but I do 9's on bugs just fine and rarely run the "meta".

That’s strange I was able to take off the armor off the leg of a charger with the ATM in some of my solo games. To be fair I only play solo in Hard. Maybe in higher difficulties it’s not possible?

This will probably get patched sooner or later, I cant imagine it is intended that the heavy armor on the legs magically stops blocking shots in certain animations. Makes 0 sense. I mean AFAIK these animation glitches even lets pistols and such "punch through" their armor, meaning its not there at all.

Me over here 2-manning Helldive difficulty with the AMR and full clearing the entire map and extracting. Personally, I think it's very good in the right hands, and with good team communication and tactics, you can eliminate 50% of the bs people usually run into in a mission with randoms. Too many people still play this game like Redneck Mafia and not enough SEAL team 6 so it's much more difficult for the AMR to shine. But I love it as is. Gives something for low man groups, solos, and well coordinated full teams a worthwhile alternative that isn't just raigun. Railgun has the highest floor so everyone crutches it where as the AMR is one of the largest skillgaps and learning curves so it takes a bit of a commitment to get good with it. And I mean a lot of commitment and a solid understanding of the games internal mechanics that aren't obvious or easy to learn. I've been level 50 for awhile and still have a lot to learn on being efficient with the gun as I've seen solo no death Helldive runs where they full clear the entire map of objects.

The nature of bugs is that they force everything in to a mid to close range fight, making the unscoped railgun you can shoot accurately without aiming down sights far more viable. The bots generally remain at range and have more exploitable weak spots making scoped weapons more effective and useful against them. The blobby sights on every scope are absolutely a problem that needs addressing though. I'd also like something that functions like a sniper blind and suppressor to make sniping in late game for stealth gameplay more viable. Maybe something that alows you to fire a single shot from a particular position without the enemy being able to determine your position, but if you fire again without relocating you're boned. Would make support fire a lot more viable as well.
