But day by day I"m realizing you were actually right. This guy is naturally more talented than most of the next generation players and his versatility is epic. I think Kante is a good comparison for Camavinga. Elite athleticism and ball-winning abilities mixed with great dribbling skill but probably not a sophisticated enough passer to act as a playmaker in midfield. I think that like Kante, Camavinga is not best used as a pivot/regista style DM but instead next to that type of player. That would give the midfield combination passing/playmaking from deep and Camavinga could cover ground and protect the playmakers. Kroos might even be able to extend his career as a 6 because of the work Camavinga could do playing alongside him

You can tell if someone knows about football just by their opinion on Fernando Redondo. Best CDM ever, only Mauro Silva comes close though with a complete different profile. Mauro was a pure stopper, Redondo had the complete package. I think Camavinga would be wasted as CDM, he obviously enjoys himself more when he's allowed to carry the ball and move forward. And his decision making and creativity should improve with the years, he's still young. Great analysis btw, subbed.

creativity is mostly a talent. it’s part of football iq. pedri is 19 and is a genius. he got 1.76 smart passes/90, better ratio than the likes of modric (1.43) and kimmich (1.58) while playing the same position.
