Potentially a solid role player in the nba if he stays healthy. Set picks, grab rebounds, rim protector and catch lobs. He possibly could be a daniel gafford/walker kessler type of player.
@streetking97726 ай бұрын
The traditional big man can still be effective in the NBA. The team who chooses him will have to make sure to punish teams with his style of play. While the other teams' big man will play outside beyond the arc, this big man can dominate the middle, which still is the most important part of the court. Could a prime Shaq still be as dominant as he was in today's NBA? Absofuckinglutely!!!
@Big.steppa.reese06 ай бұрын
He’s not that type of big lol. He’s a modern non-shooting big. Meaning he’s a rim runner. He gets most of his points off the roll or off the glass. He had little isolations plays out of the post.

@@george4654I would agree with Kessler. He has a very long way to go before McHale level. One of the best offensive post players ever. Unfortunately in todays NBA they don’t let bigs go to work in the post. Just get used for none stop pick a roll. I don’t think he will get the chance to develop a great post game. @markmirabella40668 ай бұрын
He can’t jump, he’s super slow, but he’s got the reach. He needs some serious lower body agility conditioning and ball handling development. And I agree he should focus on becoming an elite passer. People comparing him to prime Shaq are absolutely ridiculous, he moves like an old man compared to prime Shaq or David Robinson. I’m willing to bet he will have a very short career plagued with injuries (for his sake I hope I’m wrong). All the best to him, he should go pro as soon as possible and stay healthy.

I see you are from Syracuse, which makes sense. You probably haven't gotten over Walker carrying UConn over Syracuse on the way to a National Championship Title. I was around for Jake and know Donovan. Jake wasn't even a star on the UConn team. He was a great utility man who was a good passer and reasonable defender for a sharp shooting UConn team. He used his National Championship to make a decent career for himself in the NBA. Donovan is much more capable. He was the MVP in the Big East Tournament and when needed can take over a game, as he did for the Regional Championship against SDS. He has great potential in the NBA, otherwise he wouldn't be a lottery pick.

A one level scorer vs a two level scorer in Zach Edey. Poor free throw percentages which indicates he ain't likely developing a 3 point stroke unlike Zach Edey with a much higher percentage. Clingan is a beast at rim protection & blocking. But so is Zach Edey. Where he bests Zach is weight which translates to his being more nimble than Zach
@morganderifield32958 ай бұрын
Edey is not a 2 level scorer lol. Clingans free throw is fine. Clingan is going to dominate edey on the offensive
@t.yop98 ай бұрын
Lmao, talk about not understanding basketball. Neither of these dudes are shooting 3s in the NBA, not in the first 5-10 years of their career anyway. Clingan is not more nimble because he has less weight, he's just more athletic than Edey. He jumps higher, has better lateral movement, has more body control and is quicker. Most of what Edey does well doesn't translate to the NBA. He's extremely slow footed, plays at a snail's pace and his defensive contributions are due to his size and the lack of spacing in college. He can't guard pick and roll, he can't guard anyone on the perimeter, and his offense consists of only post ups. Clingan on the other hand runs the floor, can rim run, is agile defensively and can be a rim protector off of both hedge/recovery and drop coverage. Clingan may not be good enough for the NBA, but he has several identifiable skills and enough athleticism to have a good shot. Edey is a big man stuck in the past. If this was 20 years ago, Edey might have a good shot in being a good NBA contributor but in the modern NBA he's a liability.
