Greenwood is the player you want the ball to have a clean shot on goal. Either foot he has the cleanest consistent strike of the ball, and that says a lot considering he plays in the same team as Rashford, Martial, Bruno and Pogba who all are extreme in their own right. Fact is Greenwood is something special because he can do what he does at 17/18 easily and next season the kid will score 30+ goals as a teenager playing for the worlds biggest club. What a player and his status will quickly rise as he establishes himself as one of the best goal scorers in Europe. The sky is the limit for him and its only a matter of time before he reaches 50+ goals in a season. I believe he is the player to break that barrier and in the coming years it will be as simple as just set him up and he will put the ball in the back of the net. Greenwood´s potential is astronomical, but already next season he will establish himself as an elite striker in the bracket of Mbappe and Haaland.

Not sure he's ready to hit 30+ goals. Greenwood at the moment has a tendency to go missing during games in terms of his general play which isn't something that a young Rooney suffered from. So for me that is the aspect I want to see him improve the most as the goalscoring is a natural quality which will just keep growing in leaps and bounds.

Greenwood has a ton of potential and kinda seems to be taking the route that Bale did, playing under Redknapp as a left winger but ultimately playing his best football as a second striker under Villas Boas. Like you say, he likes to vacate the wing and drive in central.

Yep good comparison, with younger players it is useful to develop them in various areas of the pitch, opening up their understanding of the pitch and increasing their game intelligence before placing them in their optimal position. Having said that, it must not be done for too long... otherwise bad habits can develop i.e. you play in a way which might suit the new position but doesn't match up to what you once had for your optimal position i.e. Rashford was used out wide for so long, he lost that natural poachers instinct he had when he first broke through.

Really appreciate these detailed analysis! I think Kane still has a part to play for the England national team. He's shown this season that he can provide some excellent link up play with the rest of the team and still be a lethal threat in attack.

Good work. Mason may have the fastest top speed in EPL history though 37.6 kph. I cant find faster. Neither can I find Mbappe matching that etc. There is a South American though. Just from my quick searching anyway. Look it up. I think the fact he plays with his head up so much just means he doesnt use it plus he is getting fed no passes into space from AWB. Rumour has it he once had an unofficial UK jnr sprint record. The only time his insane pace is really visible is when you watch how effortless he leaves pacey full backs when carrying the ball. Look at their legs compared to his. The running style hides it. I believe his game has been hampered this year by OGS underplayed when he played Rashford with the 'bowling back' injury. And tactically I can only asume he wants his inside forwards to stay wide, lay off and get in the box. But trying to fathom OGS tactics is like letting a 3 year old loose in the kitchen to make a surprise dish then asking them for the recipee afterwards.

Would be keen to see a link to that stat and yes fully aware he had UK junior record but apparently he changed his game up after a serious injury in the Academy and did not want to have to utilise his top end speed too often. Personally I don't think him and AWB are uber compatible, he would suit a more Dani Alves style full back... perhaps a Max Aarons. LOL Re: Solksjaer comments.. have to agree!

@@PythagorasinBoots My man! Again we see/think the same. I think the hype for AWB has been ridiculous Steven Howson calling him world class. Mark off Utd stand 'our player of the season' It isnt just the c- crossing its the lack of short quick passes. This very thing that constituted almost the entirity of Ashleigh Coles attacking efforts and although a yester era now, helped hold him as most peoples choice for worlds best left back. (Incidentally I think Evra had a two year peak were he surpassed that myself as such a brilliant dribbler) But, i think the wonderful timing of AWB lunging tackles doesnt equate to coles defending. Imagine what he'd do up against a Salah I'd expect total shutdown. He was comparative to any defender who ever lived one on one in my eyes. He was simply 'trick immune' and even he wouldn't be a fit in many teams moving forward for his 'creative conservatism' despite his up and down the pitch nature. AWB's is about as good with a press as cheap olive oil too. I wish more managers would take on some klopp principles. You get a watch them everyweek it isnt exactly 'secret herbs and spices' I swear ole needs the oppsite type of full backs for that system he has - as you elude. Ethan Laird. I think 3 4 3 will be more and more popular moving forward (may take time) CDM dropping into 3 to make 4. Yes definitely can see that happening if Martial holds on to the CF position for now. Sancho can play either wing so there can be lots of flexible rotation and gametime for everyone but in long term if I had to pick my favoured three it would be Sancho right, Greenwood middle and Martial left.

Edwin Bino Teams have figured out that United are a potent counter attack threat and that when they drop a little deeper when United are in transition, United more likely to make mistakes in decision making. United also struggling against the press, so they’re not able to efficiently play between the lines and get ball to forwards.. lots of mistakes in passing. The way to resolve this is better football iq needed at full back, regista and LW... so United can play out of press.

Difference betweek top speed and being able to run at players constantly, outpacing them time and time again. For example Usain Bolt = super fast on the running track and yet he didn't look that fast on the football pitch... Greenwood was one of the leading sprinters in his youth until he suffered an injury. It means he does not like to use his pace constantly as he risks getting injured. Thus if you cannot use your top speed to its full extent, then there is no point saying that 'speed' is that players strength. Having said all that Greenwood will get faster as he strengthens, and use his pace more and more as his sprint endurance develops.
