Agreed. Or if you are programming a patch on your poly synth. If you have the melody playing you can immediately start programming oscillators and envelopes. Also if you are a drummer and you need a loop load up the midi into a kontakt instrument and play your pocket along to the melody.

My take on this pack is the only real reason to buy it would be to get Niko’s unique playing style on the custom MIDIs that aren’t just basic chords. Other than that there’s really no need. 30 minutes of Googling will teach anyone enough to make their own basic pack, or just DL one of the free ones that’ve been out since forever that have dang near 8000 progressions from multiple contributors. I’ve heard ppl say these types of packs are selling snake oil to newbies, but there’s something to be said for the current market audience having a seemingly insatiable demand for shortcuts, secret sauces, and production “cheat codes”. - Selah

Chord packs are cool. Melody packs are a different story. Songs with the same melody will be a copyright/royalty headache.

Very easy to edit with MIDI & if same artists use the exact same melody it’s royalty free. No party can sue the other for copyright issues :)

@@TonyThomas10000 copyright cannot be enforced on a melody that is open source. Ideally you would not use the melody in a copy paste way. You should take the midi and actually do something with it to make it fit what you are doing.

The problem is that is if you use Niko's melody in a song that becomes popular, and a major label artist also used it, you can be sued, get de-monetized, taken down, etc. The person with the most resources wins. And Niko won't "I got you" when it is time to go to court!

Even if another person uses the same melody, they do not own the copyright for that melody. There is a very clear path for showing where the melody comes from and who owns the copyright.

It has many many midi files in many different keys but at the end of the day it’s robotic even though it covers many keys . after purchase it’s value is gone after the first composition .
