I’m a driver with Dublin Bus and I really enjoyed this video. You had obviously done your research and everything you said was accurate and fair. I only wish every visitor was so well-prepared when getting on a bus in Dublin lol. Thanks for uploading.

A LUAS Line from the Irish Ferries and Stena Terminals in Dublin Port (North Wall) via the Dublin Docklands Rail Station to connect with the existing LUAS line at the Gibson Hotel/O2 Arena is needed

I think most of the Dart route in South Dublin is the most scenic, once you get passed Sandy Praide.

Bus Eireann does take Leap cards. I use it 3 times a week from Balbriggan.
@AtoZbyLocalBus10 ай бұрын
The noraml Leap cards can be used on Bus Eireann, but the Vistor Leap Cards can not be used on Bus Eireann, and he had a Vistor Leap Card. I am guessing he did not look into what services the noraml Leap Card can be used on, and what other cities it can be used in.

The traffic is terrible. We not only need that MetroLink, but I also suggest adding more Luas lines along the former Dublin Tramway routes.
@Runboyrun89 Жыл бұрын
Nah. Loads of them are pointless. We need a East to West link (DART Underground) along with another LUAS line. DART+ and Metrolink are going to he transformative and hopefully means we get those two before 2045.
@samnicholson50515 ай бұрын
The old tramway routes were just tracks in the road, with no real dedicated infrastructure unlike the trains. They should be prioritised where the busiest present day bus routes are.

You missed out that the Visitor Card costs 1 euro (Which I remember paying extra towards). Bus day capping is only 5.60 with normal Leap Card (5 Euros) or LUAS (Bus is MUCH better and covers whereever the LUAS go, such as G1 and G2 covers most of the red line) and train only is 7.60.

Think the trams you were on are long? The green line trams are even longer with nine cars and if I’m not mistaken 55 metres

How is the frequency of trains on the DART network? Seems like a solid system with decent coverage of the city
@samnicholson50515 ай бұрын
Every 10 minutes between Bray and Howth Junction, but it only covers the coast. There's other less frequent commuter lines inland that will be upgraded to DART standards over the next few years.

Yes but not the visitor cards and the capping doesn't apply to them.

When a idiot in Dublin connect M 50 to bus Dublin transport. It will be easy to go from Bray to Tallaght. Now you should go from Bray to city teke Luas 1 hour time . Together over 2 hours. With m50 less as 1 hour.

Public transport in Dublin is being strangled because of over reliance on the private car, including electric vehicles, due to successive Irish governments for decades squandering EU funding on Irish motorways - the Irish government now needs to take the bull by the horns and totally ban the private car, all over Ireland and not just in Dublin, including electric vehicles and rigidly, without any exceptions, strongly enforce this uncompromisingly and resolutely, regardless of any EU directives and make people use public transport - human nature is such that people will only do things if they are forced to do stuff and have no other option but to comply
@Caveirazul Жыл бұрын
It's impossible don't use cars in Ireland, only if u live in Dublin city centre, otherwise, you'll definetely need a car to go to somewhere. So they cannot ban cars, because there's no decent public transportation in the country.
@michaeljohndennis2231 Жыл бұрын
@@Caveirazul banning cars in country areas will force public transport providers to provide better public transport in country areas and come up with more innovative solutions - banning private cars in Dublin, including EV’s will allow public transport in Dublin to run more efficiently
@Runboyrun89 Жыл бұрын
“Squandering” is a nonsense. We had a clear need for a motorway system. It is just unfortunate that the financial crash arrived the year that it did- when it it was 12 months later it is likely that at least one of the Metro or DART Underground would be completed.
