How Good Is The 1060 In 2023? 1060 6GB 1080p Benchmarks

Hey guys, I'm back with a tech video showcasing the amazing and probably the most popular midrange graphics card ever, the 1060. I owned this Asus Dual OC Geforce GTX 1060 6GB for 6 years and although it still worked, it was showing its age while running ultra graphics in modern-day AAA games. But exactly how good is the 1060 in 2023?
Here I tested it in 10 games with my current graphic settings, Highest Graphics and lowest graphics to give a better perspective on what you can achieve with this 7-year-old GPU. I used MSI Afterburner to show the temperature, clock speed, usage, and FPS of the GPU.
I'm still benchmarking my new GPU which I will reveal by next Wednesday so stick around to find out which one I went with.

A couple of the less graphically intensive games get a little bottlenecked by the 2600. Not too major but I thought it was worth mentioning. Definitely showing its age but not too terrible and still very impressive for a card thats turning 8 years old. 10 series was fantastic and the GTX 1080 Ti is still kicking! (Although for Alan Wake 2, the Vulkan mod is required)

Yup! The 1060 is still in the top 3 for most common GPUs according to the Steam hardware survey which is awesome. And yeah the 1080 Ti packs a punch, especially with the 11 GB of VRAM. Maybe I'll return to the 1060 one last time once GTA 6 comes to PC 😂

Probably still enough for 60 fps just need a little graphics tweak in most games but would struggle on newer games especially those of UE5.

Yup. FPS games I play on competitive settings which would bump past 60 fps. Although triple-A games I would optimize my graphics enough that there is minimal impact on visuals (lower the graphics I didn't notice from high/ultra) and would range around 60-70 fps, depending on the game

Obviously, the newer series cards have better performance, but the 10 series cards were the best value. The 1080ti was probably the best card Nvidia ever did.

for cs2 testing in future, bots are pretty intensive and massively impact fps. probably better to just run around the map

i have the msi variant that i paired with a ryzen 5 3600 and i get 60-70 fps 1080p high in most games for the price that these things go for there still awesome gpu's i got mine for my first build for 75 canadian bucks as an ultra budget price for high performance build in total for everything including 16 gigs of 3200 mHz ddr4 ram an ASROCK B450M PRO R.2 and a case and a 1 TB 980 Pro spent about 580 canadian dollars in total or 426.26 usd

@@WildWill I have the rx 580 8gb i dont know if i will be able to run the game? it runs gta 5 at 80+ FPS ultra with extended distance scaling and hi res shadows

@@V_Modding Yeah GTA 6 will be way more demanding than GTA 5 (and RDR2, which is the closest and most recent game we have using the Rage Engine). Although if it’s anything similar to Red Dead Redemption 2, with AMD FSR enabled it could boost and help stabilize frames. In the meantime we’ll just need to wait and see more info on GTA 6 for PC
