Great analysis, I honestly think this team could win it all. Shooting has to get better, our current problem is maturity and learning how to finish close games. Chet’s return will open up new avenues plus the defense will increase. The possibilities are endless.

Maturity surely isn’t a problem these guys are all business other than that I agree with everything. Maturity isn’t just age yes they are young but it’s how they carry their selves we never get technicals ejections no drama at all that’s maturity

In the game vs Boston I remember thinking, "OK Lu is having a bad day, Mark should sit him down and try other options" and he continued playing it until it exploded. Great vision of coach that will be needed in playoffs. Last year vs Mavs missed more resources from Mark, and this year he seems to have taken a step.

To be honest, I had no let down on the Thunder.

Mitchell, Cruz and of course Chet will be out for the Cavs game. We are winning like this with all these injuries against great teams. Extremely impressive! I think Mitchell and maybe Cruz will play at MSG Friday.

Just read your piece in SI about Dub. You call for more dunks, but according to the numbers offered, he is attempting more. 1.3, up from .9. More dunk attempts should lead to more trips to the line and yet Dub's is getting to the line less, 1 FT per 5.1 shot attempts compared to 4.5 last season. Ajay, who rarely dunks the ball if ever is getting to the line once per 4.9 shot attempts. Why a rookie has more gravitas getting calls over a 3rd year rising star is anybody's guess, but that has to be factored into Dub's shot choices. You also pointed to Chet's absence which is further enforced by Dub's rookie season in which JWill stepped in for Chet and was knocking down 3's at a 40% clip. Conclusion? This is the 1st time in Dub's career in which he has played with a more traditional center and had no off season to prepare. We're just 25 games into this post Chet injury run and won 15 in a row of those games. Based on the eye test, Dub is primarily focused on the defensive adjustments without Chet and I feel like once he turns more to the offensive adjustments he'll be fine.

He is up .3 on dunk attempts and up .4 on runner attempts - when you combine that with he is shooting les% of his shots at the rim of that less% less of them need to be floaters

I really don't think we need cam Johnson - just think if we had chet right now?? Holy crapola!!

Being that they don't have Chet, Mitchell, Cruz, and next year's 3 number 1s, they could have an undefeated season by next year if there aren't catastrophic injuries. This year is a championship year. It's always dependent on injuries.

I love your points about people essentially nitpicking this team because things have gone so well, Michael. It's true, its in our nature to look for something negative to point out. That's what I think ppl are doing when they want us to make a trade without seeing what we look like with with our whole roster. As for picks, we go 3-0 this week. If we beat the Cavs, we'll have beaten the Cavs own record for consecutive wins in this season. & They will be amped to beat the Knicks for I Hart in the Garden.

I honestly think we can beat the Cavs we are due a 45-50 percent 3 pt shooting night I’m praying it’s tmrw and I have no doubt we beat the Knicks those guys are all drama queens they will fold again when the pressure hits Dort will make Brunsons life hell again

@@DeadShotMontages we did shoot that well against Boston, so we can certainly do it again. I believe we were 42% against the Knicks from 3 as well.

The Thunder don't care about the transfer portal. Pro sports are better than college sports. It's less complicated.

I think the team is close to true greatness but needs one of two things to happen to get there. It needs to add a piece that can help elevate the team playing beside SGA AND help carry the team in the event of his absence...or...an existing player needs to become that piece, 100%. No doubts, no hesitation. Chet or Jdub of course come to mind but are yet to show it. Think what Dallas is going through atm. Kyrie or Luka go out? No one worries much, weather the storm. BOTH go out? It's more than just losing two starters from your rotation. Either can put a team on his back and lead, play, win. And will not fail that. Thunder don't have that atm. It's not good enough to say "Well Chet is out imagine when he's back!" We don't have to imagine. He's not here and the team is 30-5. How much better you getting with him? 35-0?? This is not about him. It's about SGA. When you can imagine this team winning big PLAYOFF games without SGA? You'll know this team is "as good as it can get." Imo some things are yet to be seen and proven but they are moving along well. This team is VERY GOOD! But I'm talking Championships here. Two or three. Greatness. I think with continued growth and maturity the team can "one and done" a 'chip as constructed today. This season or next. But let me say this. SGA is the real deal. Real as it gets. And not a "big" or wing. He's a guard. Think Jordan, Kobe, Curry, Wade...and get excited. This is a real opportunity. But the grind has just begun. Can Okc be a Dynasty? A "Mini Dynasty?" How good can it get? The only answer I personally have is "idk?" But the playoffs will be here before you know it and you've got the best defense in the league, and an MVP. Could be worse. Could be better, too. Only time will tell when its "good enough." As a more casual Thunder fan I'm very excited to watch them play. I hope they "win it all" soon. And since the loss to the Bucks? They seem...different. This team works hard and it shows. Get SGA what he needs. Wait on it to develop here or go get it. But get it done💯It's close. Very, very close. Myself? I'd make an impactful trade if not a trade off that ended up 50/50. Roster construction and team chemistry are delicate things. Certainty is required at this level. Sideways moves are just that. Otherwise? I like the team as is and imo a successful push past the 2nd round of the playoffs and a tough exit in the next would be a successful season. Growth, maturity, grind. Come back in '25-'26 and take it all. For now? Cleveland tomorrow. Thats it😁
