It was a few games back when the ESPN gang, most notably Barkley, praised the Thunder defense. As we Thunder fans were discussing it, a Mavs fan quipped, "Yeah, but they're playing playoff defense. Everyone else is cruising. Come the playoffs, the Mavs will lock em down like last season." My thinking about that is, well maybe, but OKC has actually improved from last season's reg-season run. And I could be wrong, but I don't see the Mavs or any other team making that same leap. Also, the OKC coaching staff has a proven track record of learning from losses and coaching them up by emphasizing the causes. This team tends to not make the same mistakes from game to game. This team, from the guys upstairs making brilliant business moves, to the coaches, on down to the last bench players, seem to absorb info like no team in recent memory. Will that translate into an NBA title? We'll see. But it can't be denied that they're on the right track.

OKC is still not close to being at 100% strength. Chet is their 2nd best player by a long shot and they've now won 14 in a row without him and have the second best record in the NBA. If OKC is healthy throughout the playoffs I don't see anybody beating them this season. That being said I am not understanding how Wiggins hasn't been getting more run. He's by far the 5th best player on OKC and he's only getting 20 minutes. Maybe this game will make Daignault see what he has.

It's a strategy where OKC uses high level defenders with the starting lineup - they wear the other team down by Q4. If Wiggins played better defense and more minutes his shooting would drop. It's better to let the defenders do their thing while keeping the legs fresh on Wiggins during moments like last night. Not much different with Joe.

It was a close call. He was obviously cutting and finished a shot. The only reason they called it before the shot was because the ball was so low to the ground. It could have gone either way. Worked out better for OKC since they got the 3 and ran more time off the clock.

Brunson is a great player overall but as of lately he’s forcing it. He’ll dribble for too long then try to pass too late and cough up a turnover. Second it wasn’t only Brunson mistakes that lost the game but the defense from the Knicks in the 2nd half was terrible. 3rd our coach is horrible beyond horrible. U can not expect ur players to play 40+ mins for the entire regular season plus playoffs and expect them to go against young teams like OKC who have a decent bench and out last them. The starters were tired. The bench had 5 points, that’s ashame. Thibs will be the death of this team, he doesn’t know how to use the bench. There’s players on there too that can actually ball when they’re with the right rotation but he doesn’t know nothing about it. He thinks Brunson is D Rose and will take us to the chip, wrongggggg
