How good is your protective gear

For riders who wear brain buckets, designer helmets or no helmet at all, without moto pants, boots, gloves, shirts, jackets, or moto shirts.
I give you my experience and hope you reconsider your decision in this.
We have a right to ride without a helmet or any type of gear if we want and that's great and it should always be that way.
I went out riding my R1 this day not speeding, not lane filtering, not stunting, just out Cruisin' and enjoying my life.
I have taken several courses and practice daily on emergency braking, swerving, curves and much more. I had another course lined up for this month, but due to my wreck, I was told by the Doctor to not do it as I must heal.
Does this mean I will not get in an accident? It means I have a better skill set and can navigate traffic and use my experience to stay safe and alive.
When things come together, they come together fast and in less than a second one must make a decision that will alter their day, possibly their life.
I had a decision to make in a split second and went into an embankment rather than hit cars or put others at risk of crashing into me or each other, or getting ran over.
This is the gear i was wearing and it isn't fancy, cumbersome or bulky, but it worked, and it did what it was designed to do.
I hear many things about what gear some riders wear, and to buy the best gear which often leads to the most expensive.
My gear is relatively inexpensive. I believe I might have a total of about 1,000.00 in my gear and that was bought an item at a time, sometimes two at a time.
I absolutely had to have a helmet, gloves and boots. I can wear long sleeve shirts, and all till I buy my jacket, which I did off eBay and this wicked stock warm weather riding shirt.
This stuff worked and I was going 45mph on a 45mph road and crashed probably at around 25mph.
I went down the embankment and thought I was going to be good, when another mound preceded this and I was progressively braking and caught my slider and over the bike I went.
I am not sure what I hit first, but I'm pretty sure it was my head as I was K.O'd and came to in the ambulance.
I barely recall anything because I was out and this is what I recall at the last minute of flying off my moto.
The last thing on my mind was shit! I was glad I had my gear on and didn't even think if it would work or not. Just knowing I was wearing it was solice and the impact was hard.
It doesn't take crazy speeds to hurt yourself, or to get head concussions. Had I not been wearing my gear; I probably wouldn't be here.
Take it seriously when you ride, have fun in the right places and be vigilant and practice and wear your gear for instances that may occur.
Hope this helps you in your journey. I will be back riding again and this hasn't changed my love for riding, it's a reality check and a serious one.
I will post video of what my R1 looks like now later.
Still have my FZ1 in the garage.
Carry insurance and be licensed as well.
Look at my helmet and where the impacts were, and you don't have to be a crash expert to realize had I had a brain bucket on or no helmet, I'd be in the hospital still if not dead.
My Ruroc Atlas 4.0 saved me, and the helmet stayed intact, and the visor did not fly off.
I didn't have the CE amour in my pants as they don't prevent broken bones, but the pants have Kevlar in the seat and knees. The pants did not come apart or tear.
My gloves are construction gloves I bought for riding even though I have several pairs for fall and winter. I had bought some online that were trash and had come apart in the first use. I decided to try these, and they held up.
If you're thinking of riding without gear, that's your choice, but know that the end results if you wreck can be super devastating even at slow speeds.
