What grade would YOU give the career of Alex Smith?

I kinda felt Alex Smith was a draft bust from the beginning, he did turn things around later on in his career and turned out to be a good quarterback overall. His career has been up and down since leaving the 49ers.

Facts! Smith was good, could have been great if not for coaching/rookie problems and some bad injuries

Great video! I'd give him a B+ over a B for 3 reasons 1. He rode out his rookie problems and made the smart decision to restructure his contract. 2. Came back from 2 injuries one of which should have ended his career. 3. Mentored the best QB in the league Would Mahomes still he great without his tutelage? Probably but he might have flamed out early on too.

As a chiefs fan, i come from the unpopular opinion that had Mahomes never come along the smith, reid and the chiefs really were starting to gel and mature. And would have won a superbowl at some point over Alex's "theoretical" 4-5 remaining years. Hill and Kelce were just starting to enter their prime and alex was opening up deep for the first time effectively in his career. Alex always got better i guess was my observation of him. Shame it ended the way it did. Still though, he came out of that looking like a winner.

Alex need more credit Patrick mahomes and andy Reid hold Alex Smith up and give him alot of credit for teaching mahomes how to slow the game down and read defense and tips idk what but it sounds like he spent alot of time with mahomes his rookie year. Thats how mahomes was able to come out the gates hot like he did.
