It kills me that halo multi-player was a "You had to be there" kinda thing. It was so much of my childhood and early teens. My nephew plays roblox and fortnight, and their solid games, but he has no idea what he missed out on. Forge and custom games were another level. I'm just getting old, I guess.

Dude i hear you but the community on MCC is alive and well my friend, the 343 games killed it for people myself Included but H2/3 are still doing just fine

@flashback170 nah I'm with you. Although every note worthy halo game is in mcc, youre not getting the "halo experience". Partly due to age but also to how bungie handled their matchmaking that fails to measure up to mcc's

Same here. I developed my skills in FPSs by playing Halo 1. The multiplayer was so much fun, and the Flood... the Flood were epic

I'm laughing cuz Assault on the Control room and Two Betrayals were my two favorite levels. I never really noticed just how repetitive they are until you pointed it out. I remember when I realized Two Betrayals was my favorite level in reverse with a new twist I was actually hyped.

Agree to what both of you are saying. People criticise the game due to the repeated levels, but each level was significantly different in tone, lighting, enemies and available equipment.

Same here, Assault on the Control Room was by far my favorite. I think it was the snow aesthetic, and having fun large set pieces dispersed within it

I was 35 in '01 and played on the Nintendo 64 with my kids. I visited my brother one day and he showed me a new game called Halo, it was far ahead of anything else I'd seen. I was hooked immediately and had a shiney new Xbox next paycheck. Best game ever for many years to come. It was an experience that us old folk remember and still hold in high regard. It is was led me to be a gamer from then on. It still holds a place for me in my heart and was a great time to experience.

@Nicache1918 it's well worth but stay away from the multiplayer. Much of the player base are made up of the same old yolk who've been playing the games since their launch, as they're rlly sweaty players

@Nicache1918 yes, the multiplayer player base of mcc are rlly good cuz they've been playing thr game for a long, long time and will ruin your day. Unless u get better but that's a steep learning curve, moreso then other games I've noticed

I got to play Halo CE in 2014, and it was the Gearbox PC port. It was only when I got the MCC did I realize that a lot of things were broken on the version I played first. CE does have that replayable value. I remember booting up Assault on the Control Room and Two Betrayals so that I could get inside a Banshee, fly all the way to the skybox limit, and snipe enemies with Banshee Bombs.

Remember playin Halo 3 multiplayer around 2009 and all were chatting and the coolest part was when we would play custom made race tracks and zombie modes, that was so much fun. People had wild creativity in Forge mode.

I know that the mission "Two Betrayals" is just the snow mission but backwards, making it kind of a double-whammy in terms of lazy/stretched development, but I still think it's the best mission in the game. You versus the Covenant versus the Flood. You and Cortana alone represent humanity in the most desperate hour in an all out war against two massive alien armies under a beautiful snowy night sky. Favorite mission in the series.

I have yet to find a game with as engaging to fight AI as CE. Enemy reactivity and fighting patterns are top notch.

The Covenant are the best enemies in any FPS. I'll stand by that. The dynamics of the sandbox are really next level and don't feel dated despite not having sprint or iron sights or prone, diving etc. Physics are great, too. I've got the remasters on PC. But I also have all the physical copies on their OG consoles. I don't have an original Xbox. But I have the first release Xbox 360 that has Xbox 1 backwards compatibility built in. It's awesome. So my last Halo CE playthrough was on there. It still looks good, if you ask me. It's obviously a 2001 game running on 2005 hardware, but it's solid. Runs better with the power of 360, even though its emulated, and it has the Xbox 360 x4 MSAA. That was a whole thing Microsoft did the first year with 360. Like, just before post processing became the norm with MLAA & FXAA. Few games use it, but the first party Xbox games do.

No gun in any game ever made has ever come close to comparing to how awesome the Halo 1 pistol was. I know it was silly in how overpowered it was, but I don't care. It was amazing. EDIT: HOW DARE YOU TALK SHIT ABOUT THE LIBRARY!

@rapmetaldemon09 I'm sure Microsoft reads alot if comments from guys like yourself.. but it takes an intelligent leader to understand who the source is. Real FPS players don't need a gimmick sword. L. Casuals might like it, but Casuals aren't loyal to any game. They'll sword swing on Halo as long as the Real FPS players are on Halo.. Once the sword drives the real FPS players over to CoD/Apex.. the Casuals will leave and follow. - Only players remaining in Halo are the Ranked community, and majority of us don't want the sword or especially Gravity Hammer.
