Thanks you if you had more people hanging on your massive arms it would in cress the turnover. Yet on the other hand his FG% was always high. The shot still counted if it went in. If it didn't it wasn't counted as a shot. So the FG would go up.

Karl Malone lost out on two championships and 4 scoring titles because of Jordan
@JKTProductionzIncNCo

If you magically erase Jordan out of existence you get a much more balanced 90s. Its amazing how one team under the best player of the decade just ruined so many HOF legacies. Imagine Clyde getting one chip for the blazers (1992), or the pistons 3 peating (1991), suns getting their first chip of the franchise (1993) like Raptors did in 2019. Hakeem 94 & 95. Seattle Sonics get their first chip in 96. Karl leading the Jazz gets 2. Maybe Ewing or Reggie leading the Knicks, & Pacers respectively get one each. Or at the very least make it to the finals in their careers. Imagine in 1998 Jazz vs Pacers. It could go either way imo. But that just goes to show how dominant MJ Bulls were. Honestly only the 80s Lakers come close. The 60s Celtics being even more dominant than the 90s Bulls over their contemperaries.

I always point out that at 40yrs old, Phil Jackson said that Malone was the most important player on the Lakers. He had to guard Yao Ming, then Duncan, then Garnett all in their primes in the playoffs that year and unfortunately re-injured himself and was a non-factor in the Finals. Also, sorry but Michael > Karl, Pippen > Stockton, Kukoc > Hornacek the add Rodman. The Bulls were better and should have won. No shame for the Jazz.

@@tombatchelor8333 Yeah but that was alleged. You have to understand that the woman who accused Mike Tyson of rape have accused 3 men of rape in the past, with all the cases (2 REALLY definitively) being proven false. Evidently, the woman has accused people in the past of a wrondoing they did not commit. On top of that, there were no eye witnesses and really shaky evidence. In my opinion, they both had consensual sex and then later she decided she wanted some clout and then started accusing Tyson of rape. The fact that Tyson, the baddest man on the planet, is now hesitant to go into a room with a woman alone is telling.

@Biskit Kitty pfft if he concentrated on being a true #2 than running the same play 70% of the time to the same guy the Jazz wouldve won a title at some point. Steals? The guy could not guard anyone well 1 on 1. Good at playing passing lanes and sagging off his man...yes. 1 on 1 absolutely not. Porter abused him in 92 as badly as Hakeem did to Robinson in 95. He couldn't even keep career role player Kenny Smith from going off on him in b2b years. I take what Payton says with a grain of salt. Correction, at 5:00 Karl was a 39-year old for the entire 2002-03 season and didn't turn 40 until the beginning of the 2003-04. That makes his the second best season a 39-year old has ever had since MJ averaged 22.9 ppg, 5.7 rpg, and 5.2 apg at the same age (after coming out of a second retirement, no less). The best season a 40-year old has ever had also goes to Jordan, who averaged 20, 6.1, 3.8 (playing a ridiculous full 82-game schedule), whereas Malone's numbers dropped precipitously to 13.2, 8.7, and 3.9, where he was only able to play half a season, which is still pretty damn good!

Hell the PF list starts to get real crowded the last 40 years. Tim is still undisputed number one but ordering the other guys afterwards is purely up to subjective debate and valuing certain things over others. Hell McHale's highs could find an arguable place in the top 5 too. That said the case for Malone could purely come down to being amazingly consistent on offense and his playoff numbers being better.

It's a team game and the jazz never had the across the board talent of the powerhouse teams did. I watched him all 19 years at least 50 games a Year. He was an unstoppable talent , very strong and had great touch, his passing got very good in the mid to late 90 s. Even playing mostly below the rim for most of his career he was still dominant. People say tim Duncan is the best power forward of all time. I disagree, Duncan was great and a true center playing out of position. They both played 19 years. Malone has 12,000 more career points than Duncan. That's not a small disparity.

He is the INDEED the greatest player without a ring. 25 and 10 are just huge numbers for a superstar. To put that in perspective, Bird averaged 25 and 10 and has 3 rings. Lebron averages 27 and 7 and has 3. Shaq, arguably the most dominant force in NBA history averaged 23 and 10 and has 4 rings. Tim Duncan, who is universally recognized as the greatest PF of all time, averaged 19 and 10 and has 5 rings. Malone's numbers are just as great, if not greater, than these dudes' who are among the top 10 greatest players of all time. If only he had won at least 2 rings, he would have had a much better case for the greatest PF of all time.

With all due respect to Karl. I would have to say that Tim Duncan was the better Power forward. Malone's offense point total was pretty much centered around the playmaking skills of John Stockton. Duncan could score playing the team game as well as scoring on his own thanks to his much better post up game which was aided by his good footwork. Plus Duncan was a much better rebounder and shot blocker than Karl.

The reason Malone and Stockton never won a ring WASN'T because they weren't good enough. It was a combination of bad luck and the talent around them just not quite being good enough. I mean go back and look at the best players that they played with on the Jazz. Not really the best talent. They had Adrian Dantley for one season. They had Mark Eaton, Darrell Griffith, Rickey Greene who were all in their primes while Malone and Stockton were very early in their careers and declined before Malone and Stockton broke out. They had Thurl Bailey who was okay. They had Jeff Malone in their prime... Is that exciting? And then they had a past his prime Jeff Hornacek in their mid 30's. When you really look at the overall lack of talent around them it's impressive that they were in the title mix like they were for all of those years. They really carried that franchise. In their MID 30's Karl Malone and John Stockton almost beat Michael Jordan and the greatest team of all time TWICE with a roster around them that consisted of Jeff Hornacek on a bad knee and a bunch of Jerry Sloan system fit role players who accomplished nothing in the NBA after leaving the Jazz. Think about that.
