Highly underrated. Imagine how many good players we will never know about because teams give up on them too soon.

Steve Young is a 49ers legend. He was known for his passing ability and running ability.🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

Steve would have been drafted first in the 1984 draft but he was lured away by the USFL with more money than QB’s were making in the NFL at the time. Thus he ended up in the supplemental draft

If you use the most comprehensive formula ever created to analyze a quarterbacks career, the "REAL GOAT" scoring system Steve ranks as the 9th greatest quarterback to start a career after 1947. The "REAL GOAT" scoring system compares each of the great quarterbacks against the average quarterback of their era and then compares that result to the other greats. Young was so dominate that if you take out the longevity factor he was the 3rd greatest since 1947. The scoring system gives quarterbacks extra points for team accomplishments as well as longevity. Even though The 49ers could only win one championship with Steve as the starting QB and even though his career was so short he ranks 4 spots higher than Montana. Montana's teams were all led by the defense thus the 4 championships. The "REAL GOAT" system leaves no stone unturned allows us to find which quarterbacks are underrated and which ones are overrated.

It’s impossible to use statistics to compare players from different era’s. The rules are constantly changing. The game Young played in was completely different from the game played today. Todays game is arena league football with 100 yards instead of 50. The rules set to produce huge QB stats. No running game or Defense needed

@@Spooky_515 That is exactly why the REAL GOAT scoring system is perfect analysis for a quarterbacks career. It does not measure raw stats which as you point out cannot be compared from 1950 to the 1990's to today. The system finds how far above the average quarterback of that quarterback's own era and then compares that to each other.

The placing of Steve Young sounds pretty accurate in your Real Goat scoring system. Who are the 8 guys ahead of Young?
@bryanjones4444
@bryanjones4444 Ай бұрын
@@lazygamer4746 #8 is Roger Staubach, numbers 5-7 are occupied by Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Y. A. Tittle. Tittle has the smallest of leads over Brady and I have not updated Rodgers score since 2021 so I am not sure where he lands at this moment. #4 is Johnny Unitas, #3 Drew Brees, #2 Peyton Manning and the top scorer is Fran Tarkenton.

One of the best plays I liked was against the cowboys in 1995 loss however the play was fake quarterback run! The whole cowboys defense though he threw the ball and nobody knew where it was until several yards later when young got tackled
