Just had this thought. What is Christianity really about? Is it just going to church, having a service, listening to sermons, singing songs? Jesus saved us so we can truly have life in Him. I feel like I was saved for more than those things. I'm sick of the mundane religious Christianity.. It has left me feeling up and down and in and out of the church. God is living in us every single day and that is the difference between a religion and having a real relationship with God. But we have been taught in the church a boring, dull, full of self righteous ideas, religious Christianity... instead of the abundant, life giving, gracious and loving God we come to know who changes us inside out. I think over the centuries mankind has seen God as a religion instead of a loving and merciful God. We have yet to know the facets of this amazing God who loved us enough to die for us people. "In these last days He will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh." its not just for those special "anointed people" that think they are so important than everybody else & act like they are above everyone bc of their gifts, bc they're seen on TV... "God will pour out His Spirit upon ALL flesh. His sons and daughters will prophecy and young men/women will see visions..." GOD IS FOR ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE.

Marie Montes That verse in Joel you cite at the end isn't referring to end time eluding to that everyone will have the spirit and it's not just the select Christians. It is referring to when the Holy Sprit is brought down and given to the believers after Christ's ascension. It is brought back up in Acts 2. It's referring to how everyone both Jew and Gentile can receive the Holy Spirit if the believe and accept Christ. Jesus died for all but only a select few will actually go to heaven. We're not to view that as we're better than everyone else, but that we know the truth and should be ready to share with any and all who will listen.

D.A. Harlan the spirit is for everyone who will receive him. I think God will intensify His spirit for the unbelievers to know Him through dreams and visions. And all believers have the spirit just that some think they are so special and above everyone just bcuz God uses them to heal (referring to some tv ministers) they act like they are the head of the church when Jesus is the head.

But not all will and God won't force the Spirit upon all ensuring all will go to heaven.
