Awesome video! I have an Edel Putter with the round non-tapered grip. I was skeptical about the grip when i first purchased but the results we in the performance. Instantly became a better putter. I am not a scratch golfer but when i compare my stats (GIR, fairways hit, greens hit, putts per round, etc) to a scratch golfer, putting is now the one area that I am almost even comparatively speaking. Thanks David for all the hard work in helping folks score better!

Awesome to hear! It's something a lot of golfers have experiences when trying it out.

Thanks David for another informative video. Though I haven't played in several years, I had a round grip on my putter because in the Southern US, a dry versus humid day would cause my hands to vary slightly in size. And there were days when the flat putter grip just didn't feel right. I changed to a non-tapered round putter grip and that eliminated the uncomfortable feeling. I look forward to the video on folding patterns.

Never heard of Edel, just had a putter fitting at Club Champion and, by the numbers based on SAM putting system, turns out, Edel EAS Model 1.0 is best putter for me, replacing my Scotty Cameron Newport which has too much toe hang for my stroke, can’t wait for it to arrive.

There's an interesting issue opened up here which is another take on flat-topped grips. Should they be mounted square to the putter face? GolfSpy found out most players who tested with a round (normal iron style) grip then lined up way more square - 0.1 degree off straight compared to something like 0.5 degrees for flat-topped grips! - and then the ball path was significantly worse with the flat tops - nearly 3 degrees left compared to 0.4 left with a round grip. It would seem that most players are adjusting for the flat top and would be better - if they insisted on using a flat - to line it up 3 degrees right of square!! This is radical stuff - and GolfSpy kinda ignored the round issues - presumably as they didn't want to poke in the eye, the putter grip manufacturers (?) Any thoughts anyone? I feel like I'd like to try the flat top aimed right set-up. Been using a round JumboMax for a while and def prefer round though.

How many round grips are on any professional tours??

How many hours a week do tour pros spend on the putting green? Those guys and gals can get used to anything and make the adjustments necessary. For most golfers who spend the very limited amount of time they have on the range, they simply don't have the time to check where they aim the putter, let alone examine whether or not the grip was installed correctly.

how the flat faced grip is installed can be off by micro-millimeters whereas a round grip is perpetually neutral.

Summary: Flat aims you more left than round. Smaller grip goes more left. Fat grips to the right.

Not really. Aim and how stroke goes thru differs. Inconclusive with this video
