Enjoyed your story. I was heavenly involved in photography for many years. Made the transition from 35mm to digital and then to video. I'm posting vlogs to my Facebook page and have recently purchased Go Pro equipment with the intention of joining You Tube. Keep up the interesting videos.

Hey Russ, thanks for sharing your story on your career. Changes in technology can be brutal on your career occupation rendering your profession obsolete. I was very fortunate to withstand most of it in my profession as a real estate appraiser where valuations were being automated i.e. Zillow etc. Glad you were able to adjust and transition into being a YT influencer of ebikes and "more." Being professorial is your strong suit!

Interesting. Have you ever thought about teaching guitar?

Yes, I taught guitar when I was in 8th grade! But no, I like to play but not teach guitar.

Never heard of Groupon. That must have happened during the time I was working 110 hours per week and had no life outside of work.

Fellow teacher who did wedding photography quit just before you. Digital cameras and cellphones, he said killed his business. He sold his cameras to a camera repair shop. It’s now closed, too.

Wedding photography isn't dead, but it's not the same as it was in the past. But camera sales are definitely down. There was even a time during that period where Nikon thought they were going to go out of business. Today, DSLR cameras are mostly gone, replaced by mirrorless cameras. Essentially the same kind of camera, but the mirror is now replaced with a monitor screen system. Photography principles are still the same however. Many people today though will use their cell phones to take a quick photo rather than a big heavy DSLR or Mirrorless camera. It's just easier and the cell phone is always with you for the convenience. It's hard to beat that.
