I met a guy dove hunting on a public field one year. We decided to buddy up and spent most of the day back to back in a field. When I got home the only two facts I remembered was that he worked for the power company and he could shoot. I did not pass the post friend interrogation with my wife because somehow I'd forgotten to ask what his wife's name was, how long they'd been married, any kids, where they live, what she does, where'd he go to school, etc. After that I just stopped telling her I met people. It's just easier this way.

Had a friend in college, lived a couple rooms down from him. Hung out all the time and even went to my house during a break where we couldn’t stay on campus. Professor in class my junior year asks who I was partnering with on a project and realized at that moment in front of the whole class I didn’t know his real name. Several people in the class knew we were good friends so made it even funnier when I had to ask him his real name.

I'll second this. When I was in high school there was a dude one year younger and we just got on each other's nerves. It turned into shoves and (why am I admitting this again...) unbeknownst to me there was something right behind me and I busted my ass straight to the ground. We both started laughing and from then on we were tight. Mild violence is a common way to start a bro friendship.
