As a 20 year old male who’s going through his own thinning of hair, this definitely helped me. Losing my hair has helped showed empathy towards women losing their hair. I’m glad I’d never judge a women for wearing a wig

As a black woman who's been wearing wigs for a long time for fun. I can honestly say any lady wearing wigs should not be afraid to put that wig on the dresser and cuddle up to your man. Lol any real man will understand. This is an interesting perspective from her because she is speaking to alot of things that black women think they exclusively go through. like kissing a guy and your wig shifting lol. A man should be so excited that his woman can switch it up for him at any time he literally can literally have a different girlfriend every day of the week! wearing wigs is so acceptable in the black community that it is literally not a thing to NOT talk about wigs with your man. I would never part ways with my wigs and my many looks for one single penis.
@losinghair-notheartsarah37034 жыл бұрын
I love that you said this! I grew up in a very diverse community and was very familiar with the black community and how accepted hair is. When I was 17 I went to a weave shop and the women there helped me sew clips on my tracks since there wasn’t much clip in extensions in! I think it should be widely accepted across all communities but that is why I have this platform and I’m trying to do so 😊❤️ 😂😂🤣 that’s hilarious!!

AMAZING, I'm mixed and I wish I would have done my research earlier. I quit wearing wigs after my last man said it was 'weird' when I showed up every now and then in one. Ugh, I've learned! You've got to choose make-up, shoes, hair, wigs, and every other gender preference that excites you and makes you feel great over a man! I shaved my head recently. Sometimes I like rocking a look that says "I veto ALLoyall" hehehe Of course some guys thought I was sexy, bald ;) Now for wigs, thank you for sharing

I was in a conversation with a man that was telling me a story about standing behind a lady and he could see her scalp. He was making fun of her. After listening to his story, I told him my story. Hair loss runs in my family.People can be cruel that's why we need to own our situation. I look at him as being shallow. Thank you for talking about a subject that can be tricky...I Love it when people support each other and not judge.

Thank you! I’m also divorced. My husband left me for someone else when my hair started falling out. Traction alopecia from wearing braids too long. It’s clear that my bald patches are never gonna fill in without a transplant. And I can’t wear weaves without repeating the problem that made me bald in the first place. So I bought a wig. Then another. Then I really started getting into it. Then I started wearing color contacts to compliment my wigs. Now I’m about to branch out into colors. I haven’t had a man in my life since my husband left in 2012 because I had a young child and I didn’t want to bring strange guys around him. So I did this strictly for me and my self esteem. Now I feel beautiful again. As my son is going to college next year, dating is a possibility again. But after my husband leaving me, I have PTSD about letting a man see me without a wig. I’ve been all weirded out about it. But this really helped. The right guy is going to be into ME…not my hair.

Girl... I understand what you mean and how you feel. It might be a big deal to you but maybe is not for others. If it makes you feel good and pretty just like wearing a nice dress then there is no need to say anything about. No need to justify yourself. I have seen so many girls on KZbin with such a beautiful natural hair using wigs everyday just because they want to change their look. None needs to know but if you don't want to "hide" This fact remember you are sooo much more than just "a wig" and any good guy will accept this and won't mind 😁.

Caitlin Flanagan oh no! My boyfriend had to have accutane too, but his hair was fine luckily. I however, destroyed my hair with bleach and dye etc, literaly had bald spots. I shaved it completely off and now I only wear wigs, and underneath I have oil treatments on my hair. Honestly wigs are so fun, you get any hair colour you want whenever and it always looks great. They aren’t even that expensive, if you get a lace front one on Depop a good quality synthetic one will be about £50? However you can get really nice ones on AliExpress for £10! (Make sure you read reviews though ahah). But honestly just wear wigs, I feel so confident in mine:) if you put castor oil on your scalp under the wig as you wear them you should notice your natural hair getting more and more healthy ❤️

So many women are loosing their hair these days....more than ever before. In fact, I read an article about the future evolution of the human race (as we all know , we as humans species are still evolving....just like any other organisms around us) and most likely in the future we won’t have hair. Unfortunately for now....specially for us women , loose our hair is so traumatic and sad ...plus the criticism that comes with it just doesn’t help. But I must say...I think man are way more supportive than women.... specially women that haven’t suffered from this condition ever before. Hair in women is associated with beauty.... I even view it that way when I look at myself......I’m suffering from hair loss as well, not to an extreme but I know bc I know myself, we all know our bodies more than anyone else. Sometimes I think that perhaps there is something in the food we eat or the water, or the air that it’s causing this .... or perhaps stress. Anyway....at this point I’ll try to take steps into a better life style in terms of my health.....and in the meantime....I’ll also hope for better wigs (I don’t wear one, my case is not that there) and less judgmental , critical, mean women. To the rest.... keep your head up...be brave...love yourself to the moon and back.

Thankyou for the great video. I’ve been living with hair problems for about 15 years. Three years ago I couldn’t take it anymore and shaved my head. It was the best decision I have ever made. Of course I have wigs that I love to wear but I see them more like clothing. When I go on a date I don’t wear anything on my head. They have to like me the way I am. I know people stare or say rude things but it has nothing to do about me, it’s their problem not mine.

I'm 31 and have been losing my hair since I was about 19. It's been slowly falling out but it's been getting to the point where I have to use makeup in my hair (a lot of my loss is right at my hairline) and wear my hair up all the time and still can show bald spots if i dont use enough dry shampoo. When I do try to wear it down I basically have an anxiety attack over wrestling with it to get it to look good. So recently my mom (who also has significant hair loss) and I have really been trying to get into wigs. We've never worn them before and it can be jarring looking in the mirror and seeing a full head of hair where there hasn't been one for years if not decades. We're in the process of letting our eyes get used to seeing a wig on our heads without thinking it looks terrible lol. One of my biggest anxieties about starting to wear wigs and possibly having to shave my head did have to do with my boyfriend. He had expressed at one time or another that he likes long hair or that he likes my hair, etc. So I was scared what he would think. I just ordered my first nice wig (something short in a fun color to hopefully encourage me to wear it more). I told him I bought it and showed it to him. He said "oh I think that'll look really cute on you" and when I asked him what if I have to shave my head at some point he responded "thats fine, your hair wouldn't get in my face when we cuddle anymore" 😂. All that to say watching these kinds of videos and talking to people I'm close to is helping ease my anxiety and actually has me kind of excited. Wigs might become a new hobby like doing my own nails 😁.

This is a journey, and owning it brings strength, confidence and compassion. Dating when experiencing hair loss is like an extra filter. : ) If the other person is unsure, not encouraging and unable to have a conversation about this condition that affects millions and millions of people, then they may not be the right person to put your energy into. Chances are, they will know someone or possibly have a child that experiences hair loss at some point in their life. It doesn't make sense to be un-open to it. I have to wear a ball cap or a visor at work so there are things I feel like I could pull off.

I love this video and am soooo glad I found your channel! I have been losing hair since I was 16 from PCOS. At 25 it rapidly sped up and I began wearing cover up powder about 30. I had Covid this past December and about 6 weeks ago my hair started coming out in handfuls. I bought a wig and have been wearing it for about a week. I’ve been single for about 9 years so the whole thought of dating with a wig is TERRIFYING! I am interested in one of my coworkers and I believe he feels the same way. I made a post about my hair loss struggles on FB and he was there the day I got my wig. The look on his face when I walked in made me blush. I still think about the look he gave me. Of course I’m still worried about getting intimate with him or having a mishap but he knows and it’s not going to be a total surprise to him if he touches my hair and it moves. I also added about 8” to my hair so their was no hiding. I could not imagine a man saying they would date you for having a wig, I agree though that is clearly not someone you want to be with. 🙌🏼💗

I am tearing up as I'm watching this video, after binging several others. I'm a college student and like you, my hair began falling out due to stopping birth control. It has been 3 years of chronic shedding and heartbreak, and now that my once-extremely thick hair is very noticeably thinning, I've been really struggling with learning more about wearing helper hair. More personally, I have also been petrified about the idea of entering the data scene as an alopecia patient. I just want to thank you so much for your openness...your story and insights resonate so, so much.

I know. I went from one or two to a closet full of them. I can’t get enough of them. Do you mix your wigs with different color contact lenses? Green eyes with blonde hair, grey eyes with black hair, etc? I haven’t dated in awhile, but I like to think that a man might get into a woman who looks like a different person every time we go out. Like maybe he’s able to feel like he’s cheating without actually cheating.
@tenaciousdee21334 жыл бұрын
gmlaster I have tried diff lenses but my eyes are rather small so I find the genetic lenses quite uncomfortable 😣 I have an obsession with dying my ultra fine and thin natural hair unfortunately which over the years have left me with so many chemical bobs 😂😂😂😂 Now i have wigs in my life it saves me so much stress !!! Not just that I can have the length and volume I crave but I can switch color as and when please without all the damage . They are a gift from god arnt they xxx

More people need to speak up about it. I am not bald, but I have very thin and sort hair that never grows long since birth. When I was a child people made fun of me and told me I look like a guy. I' ve been wearing extensions since I am teenager and there is still a stigma about hair extensions. Like people assume I am "cheap" or a bitch. I am so tired of this society,sometimes I just wish I could dissapear. This makes dating very hard because most men want a natural beauty and I know I am not perfect, like dating is already complicated.
@losinghair-notheartsarah3703 Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry you've experienced that. People can be really horrible sometimes :( I think there is too much emphasis on outward beauty. Natural beauty comes from within! Hold on to hope
@nleem33619 ай бұрын
Hopefully, you're meeting some better quality guys. I used to live in a state where a ton of people brags about how active they are, and healthy. Then I moved to a very intellectual area. Dating is so much better here. I miss my family that still lives in my old state, but unless I was married, I'd never move back there. Anyway, you could be in an area like that. I'm super new to wearing wigs, but I'm also a professional cuddler, so I get up close with a lot of guys. Most guys don't care that I'm wearing a wig. Some of my regulars love they can make special request for what I wear. Sure, I've ran into a jerk here or there, but they are jerks regardless of anything about me. That's on them, and the sooner you know that's who they are, the less time you wast with them.

💐Let me start by saying that that wig you're wearing looks so nice 'n' natural on you. You're right, confidence is key on your part. If someone cares genuinely enough about you, then what you wear or look like would not matter to them and those are the people that are worth knowing in your life. Others who say or act otherwise are not worth knowing. In olden days, wigs were signs of prominence; only well-to-do people wore wigs so as a wig aficionado, myself, I also am partial to hairpieces. So, good luck on your journey. Your confidence & likeable personality will land you a good guy soon 😊
