Bokuto will always be the most influential Ace for me and resembles the 3 rules. His philosophy has impacted Hinata, Tsukki and Akaashi, (hell, even Kiryu). Tanaka learning some of his techniques, and how he hyped up not only the crowd, but also his teammates and also the team he was playing against.

He’s the least memorable for, me especially since in my opinion he’s overhyped. He doesn’t « evolve » psychologically speaking, and fans are all charmed by his quirky character while for me, he just has a very immature personality that can be harmful for his team (who the hell gets sad because they don’t play in the main stadium ??). He’s fun to watch okay, but aside from comical relief his personality isn’t realistic for a bit and is everything you shouldn’t do in volleyball in real life.

@@LucasFleming-lq2ry this has no link with being fun or not, he's fun there's no doubt, but realistically speaking, he's immature and doesn't make a good team player. They're high schoolers, ok. For example Kageyama has his flaws and acts like a highscooler. In comparison Bokuto acts like a grade schooler. You can't, as a team, build your strategy around an ace and his ups and downs, that depends if he feels like it today or not.

@@Nunelii It does have a link to being fun or not. If you're not having fun, you're not playing as well or wanting to play and compete. There are many examples in which the glue of the team wasn't the ace or the top scorer. It's the goofball everyone loves. Bokuto just happens to be the best player on the team too. Yeah, he's immature and a bad team player, but he's the best they got and they got 2nd place in nationals that year. I'd say his skill is definitely worth the trouble.

I actually felt that Furudate went out of his way to humiliate Ushijima because he's the only ace who never wins a full game on-screen. And don't get me started on the whole "the cannon misfires" thing.

Did Aran or Kiryuu win on screen? We know they have won to get to Nationals, but in the introduction, matches for each, they lose. Sakura doesn't get a win until the timeskip. Ushijima isn't humiliated, he demonstrates the circumstances around new challenges. Sometimes you're not prepared even when you've prepared for years with discipline and hardwork.

@@katricebullock3149 Good call on Aran and Kiryu. I maintain the gist of what I said about Ushijima though: we see him play in 2 full games and both times he's on the losing team despite all the hype he gets. Contrast this with Bokuto who we see play in 3 full games and wins all 3.

Ushijima and Bokuto probably have my favorite flashbacks during the MSBY vs. Adlers game. Despite being viewed as the best, Ushijima still finds ways to up his game even when people think he's reached his peak. Bokuto now plays as a fully realized and RELIABLE ace as he no longer has the mood swings that'll take him out of the game. He's completely focused.

I know that it wouldn't fit the bill of your video, but I love Kiryū x Bokuto vision on having fun playing, tying back to "you can only be free/have fun" if you're really good on something... And Kiryū understanding in the end that him carrying the weight of the world while playing was deterring to him having fun on volleyball. I really hope there is an OVA game of Fukurodani x Mujinazaka, not just a mention during Karasuno x Kamomedai match ;(

Agreed. That's why I am really against the movie instead of having a S5. I want the Fukorodani vs. Mujunazaka animated. This is where we see how Bokuto shines and how Kiryu's back story became who he is and one of the top 3 aces. At least, I want that to be animated 🥲🥲

@@wymbumbum8110 I believe Haikyuu is rather popular i dont know how it does in sales in general Japan/World why did they even part from finishing the Anime with seasons and just had that big hiatus then decided they will end it with 2 movies and cut some cool stuff from the manga? The Nekoma vs Karasuno was amazing even if you watched it as someone who hasnt watched Haikyuu before but even as someone who started reading the manga after season 4 and skipped the nekoma one in the manga so i essentially watched the whole thing for the first time through the movie it felt somewhat strange with the cut content even with the amazing quality of animation,camera angles and thos PoVs they did in the match. I just hope they change their mind and maybe do a Season then finish with a Movie or just do 2-3 seasons(i highly doubt it but one could hope).

​@wtbskilllololo have you read the nekoma vs karasuno in the manga now that you have watched it? I highly recommend it, other characters get their moments, even if it's brief, and the whole coach's backstories elevate the story, also, reading from the start isn't extremely necessary since the anime did a great job at adapting, at least the first seasons but there are some little details that are interesting to know, like some thought process or reasons why some do something. A really small example would be the first nekoma vs karasuno practice match, kenma serves and hinata receives with his face, in the anime I thought it was because he was bad at it, which is true, but kenma purposefully served at an awkward angle and speed. Like I said it's not groundbreaking but I find this extra information fun, not to mention the characters descriptions at the end and their current worries

@@tesshh....18 I haven't but i might check it out.I liked the movie and it was good as s movie but i felt really strange watching it maybe because it was my first anime movie on a big screen tho(My country started airing anime movies recently so i haven't watched any in the cinema before).I started reading the manga to check out the lil giant interaction and caught it mid Kamomedai match i believe so ive missed a chunk from Karasuno vs Nekoma till that mid part where i started reading,generally i wanted to wait and watch it only as anime but that took awhile and i couldn't wait.

@@wtbskilllololo I completely understand, the only reason I read the manga was because I needed to know how it would end aswell, they had just announced the movies and reading the comments made me anxious that they wouldn't be good adaptations so I decided to read it, and I like to start things from the beginning even if I already know what happens, that is just me. But at least the nekoma match I highly recommend, and the matches from the ovas "land vs air" and "path of the ball" they really didn't do them justice

honestly tho, Fukurodani vs Mujinazaka is another perfect example of 'the strongest 6 players stay on the court' or however they said it in Haikyuu. Fukurodani by far has a little bit stronger players than them in terms of being an all-rounder in *_that_* _*match_*, and the fact that Bokuto had finally picked himself up was truly solidifying the team even more. Surely Haikyuu showed us not all teams are perfect, just like how Karasuno got Kageyama as the setter to cover up their bad passes & past bad habits, or Fukurodani covered up for Bokuto whenever his emo mode strikes, or Nekoma covered up for Kenma by giving him consistent solid passes so he could utilize them well without moving too much since he had considerably low stamina. _Each_ _team_ _has_ _their_ _own_ _dynamics_. In this case, Mujinazaka got Kiryu to cover up for their bad passes, he built a technique to accommodate them & made sure to always score from it. Hats off to him fr, mad respect to Kiryu truly befitting the title of the top 3 ace 🫡 not to mention they also got twin towers as MBs, cunning setter similar to Kenma, reliable WS & libero too. But seriously, in that match, holy sheesh Fukurodani regulars are just a bit more all-rounder than them: consistent passes, smart rebounds, clever serves, solid digs & nice emergency sets. I know this is too wordy but I'm really digging Fukurodani vs Mujinazaka match, such a perfect set-up for a quarter-final game! 🔥
