I didn’t even realize it before checking your playlist for this series, but I actually used your brake light video as a reference for replacing my own. I’m 25 and this is the first vehicle I’m deciding to do as much work on as I can. Working on cars is very fun so far, and it’s a really good skill to have! Oh goodness guys I'm trying to feel the love lol you have great knowledge on replacing spark plugs but that plastic shroud takes me 5 minutes to take it off somebody commented about the battery take that plastic shroud off to do your spark plugs and if you need to replace the battery they have plenty of videos It's very very simple to do the reason you couldn't get it up after you took the two bolts out was because it has about seven or eight Clips in there that you just take out with a vise grip or pliers very easy to do try to find a video on how to do that it'll make your life so much easier once you have the tools out if it's about 5-minute process the longest thing will be trying to get the windshield wipers up but once you learn that all of 2 minutes. Thank you for much for that! It’ll definitely help in the future when they need to be done again! Admittedly, I only tried for about 5 minutes before giving up. The idea behind this video series, “How Hard Could It Be”, is to get into messes like that by purposefully not researching how it’s done. But now that it’s done, I don’t have to worry about it and can definitely do it right next time. Thank you again!

I just put my spark plugs in replace them much easier without that plastic shroud in the way. It takes a little longer than 5 minutes LOL I've just done it so many times I could almost do it blindfolded. I'm terrible with video recording so I'll leave that with you. Thanks again I appreciate it

I pulled off the cowl tray…popped off the wipers, some metal clips and 4 10mm bolts, 2 torx for mc reservoir….entire cowling came off in 5 min. Then you can easily get to the hose clamps for that air intake tube and lift it up enough to access the 3 and 4 cylinder. Make your life easy and remove that cowling….

How hard would it be to shine a light on the engine bay so we can see what guy are doing? How hard would it be to not have music playing over what you are saying? How hard would it be to have a camera close up of what you are actually doing?

I've actually replaced the battery twice on this car! I just about threw the old one through the windshield I was so over it!

You can take the airbox out which is the alternate installation. I'm definitely taking cowl off for the plugs!

What did you set the spark plug gap to?

Bought them pregapped for the Escape. Not sure what the gap was, though.

No anti-seize on the plugs? What did you torque the plugs to?

I’m not certified mechanic, nor do I claim to be. I also purposefully don’t make “how to” videos for that reason (and I’m a video guy before car guy but wanted a way to bring both together). Almost all of the work I do is on my own vehicle and haven’t had a problem with plugs and tightening without measuring. Not saying that’s the right way of doing it though. TL:DR I torque the plugs to 5 or 6 ugga-duggas.

@@TheParkingLotMechanic Atta boy me too, never had a problem with removing plugs and never used anti seize and just go tight and then one good snug hug and all done - lawn mowers-cars-weed eaters-snow blowers- no problem
