I took the test and passed on my first try. The entire exam with preparation took around 5 months of dedicated studying. The hardest part of the exam was not just the depth of the material but also the mental stamina!

@@agilebase1396 I did 3 lab days a week + lectures with two practice test days each week for the first three months. In the last two months I did a shorter lab/lecture session and did 30 practice test questions. The purpose of the final two months was to simulate the mental fatigue of the 75 question exam by doing a lab session before.

@@miraclemind5656 yup I did work with a few of their popular technologies on AWS like lambda, Alexa, aurora, dynamoDB and EC2!

Hi Greg, I'm not sure what options are offered for this question posed at the end of the video, but off the top of my head, it seems like one improvement would be to migrate away from running EC2 instances, which seem poorly used given the reqirements and place a Lambda function on the queue. Given the frequency of data being placed on the queue, it might be better to set the batch window on the Lambda to not poll too often - or use Event Bridge to schedule the lambda to read the queue.

Perfect solution for a piece of the puzzle, also, the shards are only getting up to 450KB/s per device, Kinesis can ingest 1MB/s per shard, so we can cut the shards in half by putting 2 devices on each shard.

I was a Dell pre sales solutions architect, got laid off in December, I’m studying for the associate SA certification, I just took cloud practitioner and passed it, we relocated for this job, I have a daughter to provide for. What is a good entry level position or job title I can look for that will work back towards a career as SA. I’m ok with starting from the bottom.
@ThoughtfulTechyCloud10 ай бұрын
It's great to see you pushing forward after a tough December. The pre sales experience is going to be great background for a Solutions Architect role. Associate Solutions Architect is an early in career level. You're on the right track with AWS SA Associate. Make sure to get hands on experience as well.

With your experience you can look for cloud practioner jobs under Junior Cloud Engineer, Cloud Support Associate, Business Development Manager, System Administrator, Cloud Sales Executive. Good luck to you

Thank you for your video. I took the test today and got 667/750. My score report was sent but it was too vague. Is there anyway that I can analyze my score so I would know what I should focus on next time?

Don't worry, it's a tough one to clear. I would review the exam guide again and identify which areas you're not as knowledgable in and focus on those areas more the second time around.

you just read aws guide , i was expecting guidance on preparation, I am preparing for the exam feeling hard and taking very long time for moving forward, reading lot of books and materials but confusing what is right to read and prepare.

better to allocate a shard per 2 devices. Additionally, replace the ec2 with lambda to pull the messages from queue every hour and do the processing.

Just a stab in the dark here but I would move the auto scaling group to a lambda function and reduce the number of shards

@@ThoughtfulTechyCloudThanks, I don't have the AWS Solutions Architect Associate. I have fully hands-on experience, as in my current job we use AWS. But most of the time we use terraform to set up the infrastructure.
