I think the question that would be more relevant would be, how hard is it to get a corporate job in Japan, aside from english teaching and working at a convenience store and things of that nature. The idea is to be a successful person with a career in Japan.

For most English teaching jobs, you actually need a Bachelor's degree as well. A Bachelor's degree is usually a requirement for a Visa too.

I’m not really qualified to state this as a fact nor do I have 100% certainty . However it is possible to get any job you want such as medicine or engineering or programming. The JLPT tests for N2 is for business Japanese and N1 allows you to do more complex careers. Unless your lazy then you can become an English teacher or work in a convenient store.

It's all about making those connections. So I recommend getting an English teaching job for like a year while making connections and then moving on to something else. I got a job at a marketing company making videos with ZERO experience just because I met one of the higher-ups at a bar and he loved my attitude.

I did that at a cramming school for elementary school kids in Fukuoka. However, I went to a language school and got the job rather by accident, so I don't know how to get this kind of job if you are applying from outside of Japan. However, you can always try to take part in the JET Programme, as long as you have an bachelor degree.

fynnfish The thing about my school is, or college, I dont even know what it is anymore, they never stated what kind of a degree graduates will receive. Idk if its undergraduate, bachelor or whatever.I heard it might be a "bachelor AS." degree but im not sure. My English professor told me that we wont receive a Bachelors degree after graduating, so everything is mixed up in my head atm.

I live in Japan currently and actually just conducted some interviews for this! We hired some people to help Japanese people make reservation in foreign countries. If you can get JLPT N2 you could 100% find a job, however, many of these jobs require you to already be in Japan, so that is the tough part.

@squalltheonly 6 жыл бұрын
DOGA TV Japan you need a degree even for customer service? Working in a call center, those are the jobs I like, chilled and I don't like interacting with customers face to face. I would think it should be easy if someone is fluent in both Japanese and English
@DogaTvJpn
@DogaTvJpn 6 жыл бұрын
The degree isn't for the job. It's for the visa require to stay and work in Japan. Like I said early, it IS POSSIBLE to get a visa without a degree (Marriage, artist, etc), however, I would highly recommend getting a degree in ANYTHING before trying to find a job in Japan. Will make your life much easier and much less stressed.

If you've won a lottery by being born as a native english speaker then you are playing life on Easy Mode and finding job in japan isnt hard. If you aren't an IT genius then pretty hard. Even japanese themselves have hard landing a job during so called "finding job activity", hence why some keep living off a part time job till the rest of days (freeter). Some just choose not to get a job and remain as freeter just because japan has the worst working culture in the world.
