I've been looking to move into a bigger shop and offer bigger knife/sword making courses with 2 or 3 students and I was looking to buy a couple more grinders. I'm really glad I stumbled on your videos, you've helped make my decision for me. I just subscribed to your channel. Thank you very much!

Thanks a lot, that's why I make the videos. I try to get as much info as possible before purchasing and didn't see any reviews online of this grinder so I figured I would help others out!

I have the same grinder and I agree 100%. I've had it for a little over a year now as well and its held up quite well. I bought a cheep used motor 1.5hp, but single phase so no variable speed. so far so good but I wish I had the option to slow things down. Hard to beat 40$ though. I also wish I had the option to tilt, especially when using the small wheels. All in all very pleased with the grinder and it's likely the best budget grinder on the market in Canada.

Thanks for the review, I'm eyeballing a Nexus for my small workshop/garage and I'm heavily overthinking it.

It is definitely a great addition, grinding steel, brass, aluminum, sanding all kinds of wood etc. I was way overthinking it for about 6 months before purchase and continued to for many months after purchase until I got enough use out of it to say, yeah, this was waaaaaay worth it.

Does nexus have any contact wheel attachments? I see you have another smaller wheel?

Hey, yeah there is a small wheel attachment set that I have purchased, steel wheels, I think rubber coated would be a better option but I haven’t seen them on Nexus. I was used my deflector wheel that came with my small wheel set, as a contact wheel, 2”. They used to offer a large contact wheel, 10-14” but I don’t think they do anymore. Large number of belts as well!
