😶 My Mom died february of 2020 before things got intense. She didn't get a funeral because of lockdowns. She was eligible for a fully paid veteran's funeral. Incidentally, a year or more later my uncle fell down and hit his head on the hospital floor and bled out. They marked him as a c*vid death

I learned garden science and started growing shit. Right after work, as soon as I get home, I'll head to the backyard and relax - feels great. But have to admit, during covid, I enjoyed the empty freeways/highways, it was peaceful. Gyms were also peaceful and empty lol. Now, it's all cars honking, traffic, sirens going off, people getting shit stolen/vandalism, and packed gyms. Everything has a trade off I guess.

16:59 why do I feel like Subin didn't understand 😅. Also apparently Fauci never said the masks were a failure or didn't work. "Social media posts are misrepresenting what Fauci said about masks and COVID-19 and omitting part of his response. The nation’s former top infectious disease expert said mask initiatives may have a small impact at the community level, but in the following sentence he said he believes a properly worn, high-quality mask can be effective protection for an individual." Its the same with how people have been misinterpreting how vaccines work- it's not an antidote cure-all for people wondering why they still got sick with the vaccine.
@Vincisomething4 ай бұрын
"During the exchange, Wallace-Wells referenced a Bangladesh study that found increased mask use in villages from in-person interventions diminished transmission of COVID-19 by about 10% compared to areas that did not promote mask use. In response, Fauci said: "It’s a good point in general, but I disagree with your premise a bit. From a broad public-health standpoint, at the population level, masks work at the margins - maybe 10 percent. But for an individual who religiously wears a mask, a well-fitted KN95 or N95, it’s not at the margin. It really does work."
@Vincisomething4 ай бұрын
"The point he’s making is that at a population level - accounting for people’s mask-wearing habits and the quality of masks they employ - masks were only marginally effective at achieving their goal of diminished transmission," Adalja said. "But, on an individual basis someone who wears a high-quality mask regularly, they are effective."

Lost my business, lost my sister, my wife had just given birth to twins, and while my family grew stronger the shutdown took away so much... glad I left that crap hole California, and the finances are way better, I was able to give my sister a real burial, and my children are healthy and thriving which is the most important thing. This era of JK is the best bc the toxic fans left, I remember the same ppl who would lose it when I criticized the jk member's takes, switched real quick when they didn't shut down and would wish the worst on them and their families... good riddance, and on a lighter note, the recent Chili competition was incredible

I understand where you guys are coming from, but I think the issue is a lot bigger than you might think. I think trying keeping high risk individuals from dying and not over crowding the already crowded hospitals from helping non covid patients is pretty important, but I also understand keeping businesses up and running, keeping jobs and living life is important, but how can you keep everyone safe, employed, and happy? Just live life normally and let all the high risk people (covid and other life threatening disease) die? Trying to juggle this is very difficult and when I hear people complain about what the government was trying to do, I never hear suggestions on how it should have been handled besides let everyone live normally. Isolation and masking up seemed to be the only idea anyone came up with especially within a short amount of time with a relatively unknown virus. Having people have the choice to do it or not defeats it's effectiveness entirely imo, so a requirement for everyone to do it is the only way. The issue was this became a political thing and became a manipulation tool for votes and now we have a very divided situation. If this were a far greater threatening thing like an easy to spread Ebola or some bacterial thing, we'd all be dead lol. I think the best thing that came out of this was the progression of certain technology. Zoom and Teams are awesome and the bigger boom of the double edge sword, social media, has created new businesses.

Idk bout you guys, but my circle was monthly paid workers regardless of work. Thankfully none of friends got laid off, so we were just kicking it in playing games and just plotting how to gather together to visit “Subin’s workplace” hahaha good times good times.. mostly its just plotting activities and not get caught breaking the curfew and stay at home orders basically. Nowadays, lowkey “partying” at home kinda stuck around. Apart from that, not much. My friend learnt how to cut hair, so that routine changed abit. Eating out is barely a thing even before covid for me.
